There’s no doubt about it – waterfront wedding venues in Vancouver are some of the city’s best. That shouldn’t come as a shock, considering it is a coastal city, but these ones are seriously something to behold. From chic restaurants to sporting clubs to hotels, you’re pretty spoiled for choice. We’ve rounded up our absolute favourites to point you in the direction of the wedding venue of your dreams.
Here are the waterfront wedding venues in Vancouver you need to see.
Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier (138 Victory Ship Way)
Hotel wedding venues are always a hit. Why? Because not only do they offer massive event spaces but they also typically have restaurants (where you can host pre- and post-wedding parties) and enough rooms to accommodate you and your guests when your reception draws to a close. The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier has all of that and is downright stunning. Its ballroom and salon spaces offer killer views of the harbour, but if you really want to take advantage of the view, we suggest booking the rooftop terrace. It’s large enough to accommodate 150 guests, so you should be able to fit all of your nearest and dearest.
Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront (1133 West Hastings Street)
Head to Coal Harbour and you’ll find the sister property to the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier. Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront has a ton of event spaces to choose from, but if you’re on the hunt for something unique, go with the Vistas 360 Room. It’s the only revolving event space in the city and offers some of the best views of the Vancouver Harbour and the North Shore Mountains. It can fit up to 300 guests, but if you need something larger, you can always opt for the Harbourfront Ballroom, which can fit 500 people.
John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse (7277 River Road)
John M.S.. Lecky UBC Boathouse is a totally unique floating waterfront wedding venue in Vancouver. Three of the four walls in its event hall are made of floor-to-ceiling windows, so everyone can catch a glimpse of the Fraser River and the North Shore Mountains. It comes complete with a fireplace and lounge furniture and is totally flexible, so you can really make all of your design dreams come true. It can fit up to 150 seated guests.
Vancouver Rowing Club (450 Stanley Park Lodge)
Want a Vancouver wedding venue that’s right on the water’s edge? Look no further than the Vancouver Rowing Club. This heritage spot offers a mix of indoor and outdoor space, so you can get the best of both worlds on your big day. The interior is rustic-chic with shiny wooden floors and plenty of charm while the outside patio is barebones with killer views. Don’t forget to take some wedding photos on the docks when golden hour strikes! It can accommodate up to 150 guests.
Westin Bayshore (1601 Bayshore Drive)
Make your way to the West End and you’re sure to find the Westin Bayshore (seriously, it can’t be missed). The sky-high hotel sits right on the waterfront and is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Vancouver Seawall, Stanley Park and the Coal Harbour Marina, giving you plenty of amazing views to behold. It has a whopping 6,838 square feet of event space, which includes everything from a grand ballroom to intimate suites. The largest space can fit up to 1080 guests, so you can have a pretty lengthy guest list.
Brock House Restaurant (Point Grey Road)
If you’re on the hunt for a Vancouver waiting venue that’s cute, quaint and surrounded by nature, Brock House Restaurant may just be ‘the one’. Its located right off the shores of Jerico Beach and offers amazing views of the water and the North Shore Mountains. You can have your ceremony on the lawn and then take your reception into a wedding tent or inside the main restaurant. The interior is super elegant and has floor-to-ceiling windows, so you’ll still have a great, natural background for your event. It has a capacity of 280 guests.
The Boathouse Kitsilano (1305 Arbutus Street)
The Boathouse Kitsilano is another top-notch waterfront restaurant wedding venue. It’s laid back, it’s modern, and, of course, it showcases the coast beautifully. The interior is sleek and chic and has massive-floor-to ceiling windows that look out onto the beach. It’s large enough to fit up to 300 guests, so you should have no trouble fitting all of your friends and relatives P.S. There’s a second Boathouse Restaurant in the West End that looks out onto English Bay that’s equally gorgeous, so we totally recommend scouting it out, too.
False Creek Yacht Club (1661 Granville Street)
Dreaming of tying the knot near Granville Island? Well, False Creek Yacht Club may just be the waterfront wedding venue in Vancouver for you. From its windows you can see Granville Island, False Creek, and English Bay, so you’re spoiled for backdrops. On your big day, you can use its nautical lounge and its wrap-around patio. It’s large enough for 150 guests, so its a great choice for midsize weddings. Bonus: if you head up to the second floor, there’s an equally gorgeous wedding venue, Waterview, that’s also worth checking out.
Science World at TELUS World of Science (1455 Quebec Street)
If you want something a little bit different than a sports club, restaurant or hotel, head to Science World at TELUS World of Science to tie the knot. It has a number of cool event and exhibition spaces indoors, but if you really want to take advantage of the waterfront views, we highly suggest booking the Green Roof Terrace, which looks out onto the water. It can accommodate up to 170 guests
Verre. Restaurant (550 Denman Street)
Last, but certainly not least is Verre. Restaurant, a hip and trendy eatery that’s perfect for more intimate affairs. Inside you’ll find black and white tiled floors, plenty of plant life, and wooden accents. It’s also equipped with a heated patio and the entire front of the restaurant is made of glass, so you’ll get a clear view of the water. Its maximum capacity is 120 guests.
