We absolutely recommend Camp Chief Hector for anyone looking for a more laid back rustic mountain location. John and his team were very helpful throughout our planning and very accommodating when it came to the actual event! Nick (the chef) was great with providing the delicious dinner on the day of as well as the breakfast for the following morning and accommodating for people with allergies. Wolf and Will were also very helpful with organizing and getting anything that we needed during our set up and day of! Camp Chief Hector is an amazing spot to be able to enjoy the time with friends and family - there are plenty of hiking trails to enjoy and being able to stay onsite in the forest house and longhouse was a great plus! We had a ton of compliments from the guests for the amazing bar they had set up! The beer canoe was a huge hit and they have a really great hard bar and beer selection - it was a nice touch having different shots out and drink menus ready for guests! Great location for a perfect wedding with amazing backdrops, space to party, and places for everyone to stay!Sent on 30/10/2018

Gorgeous, stress-free, and worth every penny!
I cannot say enough good things about Camp Chief Hector and their staff. We got married there October 13, 2018 and our wedding was a DREAM! From start to finish, both the planning and the event itself went so smoothly I didn't have a single thing to worry about (Which is pretty amazing for any bride!). John was amazing to work with coordinating details with us to make sure our day went off without a hitch. The venue was spotless and absolutely gorgeous, the staff were friendly and energetic with our guests, and the food was outstanding. We are still getting compliments from our guests about what a great meal they had and how much they enjoyed the venue- everyone said it was the best wedding they have been to!
I really can't recommend this location enough. The amount of services and perks that are included in the cost of the venue rental is unreal. I really appreciated that we didn't have to look after details like linens, glassware, bartenders, etc. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone who wants to have a stress free wedding against the backdrop of beautiful Kananaskis!Sent on 22/10/2018

We had our wedding at CCH in October of 2018. Overall, it was an amazing venue. The staff were helpful and flexible in accommodating our needs and answering all of my questions. One of the best things about this venue was getting access to the facilities all weekend. We were able to be in the hall early on the Friday to set up and get organized. Because we did everything DIY, this was super important for us. We also rented out the Forrest house for the bridal party on the Friday night. It was the perfect place to have everyone together after set up and get ready on the grounds the day of. We had hair, makeup, and photography come to the Forrest house on the morning of the wedding, so we didn't have to worry about going anywhere which made it a relaxing and stress-free morning.
The only issue we had was that staff assured me on the Friday night that they would put out the table cloth for the signing table at the reception site. I even double checked before going to bed that staff would put out the table cloth and I didn't need to have someone do that. For whatever reason, this was not communicated and there was no table cloth. I was slightly disappointed that this was the first thing I noticed as I walked down the aisle was the bare table. Having said that, this was really the ONLY issue I had on my wedding day, so I can't complain.
The food at CCH was fantastic! We had so many complements on how delicious all of the meals were. From the Friday night rehearsal dinner to the wedding reception, and our breakfast the next day the food was perfect. They were able to accommodate all food restrictions with no concerns. They also made the most delicious pies and brownies for dessert which were such a hit. Probably the best brownies I've ever had.
We LOVED all of the options for the bar. We got so many comments from guests about the great options for local beers they served. The bar area is designed so well that there were hardly any lines and again the staff were amazing to deal with. We also loved being able to choose our wine for dinner service. We had one small issue with our open bar in that it was not communicated to some of the staff that we were having an open bar. Once we saw staff charging guests for drinks the issue was quickly and professionally dealt with by staff.
The morning after the wedding we arrived back at the venue to see that the staff had put away all the tables and chairs. Our rented lines were even folded and set neatly aside. Our decor was all put on one table by the door which made clean up and take-down so incredibly easy for us.
Overall our wedding at CCH was exactly what we wanted for our relaxed party. The beautiful location and staff made this the perfect weekend for our families and us. Thank you to John and all of the amazing staff for all of their help. I would highly recommend this venue.Sent on 19/02/2019

Perfect Venue, Perfect Weekend!
Camp Chief Hector was a dream! We got married May 12, 2018 (just this past weekend) and it was the perfect weekend at the perfect venue. Honestly I started searching for a venue as soon as I could after getting engaged because I was looking for a specific venue background (meadow surrounded by trees with mountains in the background) and as soon as I saw the meadow before the lake at CCH, I was sold. After touring around the site with John, he told us what would all be supplied by them for the wedding weekend and I couldn’t say yes fast enough. We were given access to the venue at 4pm on Friday until noon on Sunday, we would be provided all linens, plates, silverware, tables, glasses – everything you would need for a reception they were able to provide, as well as food and the bar! We stayed on site at the forest house the whole weekend with our wedding party and immediate family, and it was honestly so relaxing to not have to leave the site after we finished setting up. We were able to begin set up at 4pm on Friday to have everything ready for the wedding the next day, and then we had to be out of there by noon on Sunday, but honestly we didn’t need any more time to get out of there. We had our reception in the Hector Lodge and their blank slate set up system was fantastic because I had such a specific vision in my head, it just all came to fruition because I could do whatever I wanted to the space and make my dream come true. The food was fantastic (thank you Kelly!), the bar was so pretty with such lovely wait staff (thank you to the woman with pink hair who gave me a big glass of water!), and they were so accommodating to everything we required. I would say the only downside is how far it is from accommodations for guests, but we hired a bus service to help our guests get to and from the venue and everyone seemed to enjoy that aspect. As well, there are many places onsite for guests to stay if they so choose. It was truly the best venue we could have asked for and John was so helpful when answering any questions that came up before the big day. Plus, there was no need to leave the venue throughout the wedding day because there were perfect spaces for pictures all throughout the site! I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked me because I couldn’t have been happier with my experience.Sent on 16/05/2018

Couldn't be happier with our venue choice. The fact that you can set up the day before the wedding day and not have to worry about tear down the day until the day after was absolutely amazing. Staff was very helpful and informative. The food was praised all night long. The bar was a really good price. Just an amazing spot!!Sent on 28/09/2017
