We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Camp Chief Hector. John and the staff were so helpful, responsive, and laid back which was a nice change from other venues we checked out. We had our ceremony and reception in the gorgeous Hector Lodge. The wood lodge, stone ... View more fireplace, high ceilings, and windows made this the perfect venue for our snowy winter wedding. It's nice that it's surrounded by so much nature and mountains. We decorated with fairy lights around the central pillars and greenery above the fireplace. Our guests all commented on what a beautiful venue it was. There was plenty of room for our 130 guests and still lots of room for a big dance floor. The YMCA provided the dinner and bar service and we were blown away by both. The food was fantastic (we had cheese and asparagus stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and vegetarian chili and received many compliments on both). Also the YMCA's drink and wine price was very reasonable (compared to some other places in canmore) and they had an assortment of premium liquors that our guests were super impressed with. The YMCA also had a variety of fun camp/nature themed shots that were a huge hit. Another great thing about this venue is that we had it Friday - Sunday so we wee able to set up the day before and not worry about taking everything down until Sunday. The Forest House nearby is where the wedding party all stayed the night before the wedding (mostly in bunk beds) and this was so much fun and a great way to bond before the wedding. It was also nice to have a place to get ready before the wedding that was so close to the venue. The Stoney Nakoda Hotel is also only about 10 minutes away. A nice bonus about this place is that any profits they make go towards putting kids in camp so you can feel better about the money you are spending. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!!

John was so easy to deal with and had answers to all of my questions through the planning process. The food was good and bad staff excellent. I couldn't ... View more have been happier with how our wedding turned out even though we had to make some last minute changes and move the ceremony indoors. The staff made the changes happen quickly and efficiently. Guests loved the venue and I'm still getting compliments on how lovely everything was. Thank you so much everyone who helped make our day so memorable and special!

Camp Chief Hector is an amazing venue: friendly responsive staff, great food, flexibility to make the event your own, and a truly great Canadian feel. The Hector Lodge has one of the best atmospheres for bringing two families together in full view of the Rockies without being so remote to worry about the drive back home.
