Canyon Ski Resort

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Canyon Ski Resort in August 2022 and it was absolutely amazing. Robyn and Aaron were both very helpful throughout the entire process, not to mention they are the loveliest people! We got so many compliments on the food and venue! The bartenders were fabulous and were able to shift gears quickly when the keg we brought in wasn't working. Great value for your money - you will never feel like you are overspending because it's all so wonderful! Highly recommend!

We are so glad that we chose to have our wedding at Canyon! Every one of the staff that we had the pleasure of dealing with was friendly and beyond accommodating. Canyon let us plan the wedding of our dreams and did everything they could to help make that happen. The venue was terrific, the food was heaven and the scenery was stunning! Our guests commented on everything from how amazing the venue was, to the delicious food, the wonderful bar and wait staff and the beautiful location. Our day was absolutely perfect! Thank you all!

From start to finish, Robyn and the entire team at Canyon were nothing short of AMAZING for our wedding day. Not only was Canyon the best value for our dollar in comparison to other wedding venues in the area, their service went above and beyond anything we ever expected. They were extremely flexible in our everchanging wedding plans throughout all the pandemic restrictions of 2020/2021. Robyn was also extremely personable, professional, and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping make our day the best it could be. She answered all of my crazed emails in a timely fashion, offered great suggestions, and really made sure everything went according to plan the day-of. There were so many things that happened behind the scenes that I didn't even have to worry about because Robyn and her team just ensured things got done!
The meal options were endless, and the food really delicious. We loved that we could curate what we wanted to have served on our day. The bartenders were able to mix up signature cocktails of our choosing, and kept the drinks going all night long. All night they filled up wine/water glasses, cleared tables, washed rented glassware, etc... all things that were never expected but truly appreciated!

We had the best day, and I can attribute so much of that to Robyn, and the entire team at Canyon.

Canyon was everything and more then we could have asked for! Naturally beautiful venue and amazing service. We personalized the venue to suit us and the lodge just added to the vision. I would recommend Canyon to anyone looking to get married!

I wish I could give this venue a better review but my experience was a bit disappointing. I paid for an elopement package. The ceremony was to take place outside with the understanding that it would be moved in doors if the weather didn’t cooperate and it decided to rain. Although we were fortunate that it didn’t rain, the wasps were absolutely horrendous. I’m talking TONS of them which got even worse when the food and drinks were brought out. My brother asked if we could move in doors but he was told that they couldn’t accommodate that. Unfortunately, many of my guests chose to leave early because they were that bad and I’m honestly shocked that no one got stung. I can acknowledge that the venue can’t control the wasps, however, I felt they should have given us the option to move in doors or should have treated the area prior. At the very least, a heads up would have been nice so people could have brought raid or something to keep them away. Beyond that, the arch provided wasn’t the one requested, and the area wasn’t fully set up by the time my husband arrived to decorate at the agreed upon time.

These concerns have been passed on to canyon and I will say that the staff were nice to deal with, however, I feel it is necessary to share as the wasps really ruined my day. Hopefully future couples can inquire about this issue prior to booking. I also found there to be a lack of support on the actual day of our wedding. I inquired prior if staff would be available to help direct people on where to go, direct my husband how to get to the first look spot etc. When I arrived, no staff were present to greet me. I had no idea if my groom was at the first look spot yet or where I was suppose to go. My limo driver had to go find someone to give us that information. My wedding commissioner was also the one who directed the ceremony. It just felt like not as much effort was put in because our elopement was only 3 hours instead of a full size wedding.

Benefits to this venue is it is a really beautiful spot with many incredible spots to get photos taken. I chose this venue because of the many wonderful reviews they received but it just wasn’t the greatest experience for me.

We were married at Canyon Ski Hill on July 25th, 2020. It was the most perfect day! The Canyon staff was so incredible and FUN to work with. They truly helped our vision become reality. They were so flexible and understanding. We didn’t require a ton of decor because the venue is already so beautiful. The food is absolutely delicious, and they are super accommodating of allergies. The bar staff was super flexible, fun, and FAST, there was never a line up. They were accommodating to all our vendors and very helpful! We didn’t have to involve ourselves in setup or takedown, and we had zero stress. Canyon staff and our vendors did everything, and we were able to enjoy our wedding weekend. I could honestly go on and on! If you are looking for a place to say “I Do” - look no further! You will truly feel like royalty!! 😍😍

My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at Canyon Ski Resort. The day of was incredible, and went off without a hitch. The staff were attentive and approachable, the food was EXCELLENT, and the venue was beautiful. It was absolutely beyond anything I had envisioned. The entire process of planning was so easy – made seamless by Robyn and Aaron. They were responsive, flexible, always professional, and went out of their way to accommodate any and all requests to make it the most special day for us. My husband and I had the best day of our lives, and we got so many great compliments from our guests. Some even said it was the best wedding they’ve been to! From the bottom of our hearts thank you!!

Everyone loved the food and the venue offered everything we needed. Perfect day!

The staff was spectacular to work with from the first tour to the big day. They were flexible, accommodating and professional. We went big and they nailed it. This is even more impressive as it was the busiest wedding weekend of the year, (3 weddings in 3 days) and we felt like we were the 100% focus. The venue is beautiful and the food... My god the food. I'm an admitted food snob and it was absolutely delicious.

This is a hidden little gem in Central Alberta. Absolutely beautiful location for photos and I love that I was able to have a the ceremony and reception at the same venue (ceremony was outside next to the ski lodge). The owners are incredibly personable, down to earth and easy to work with. The catering company the venue uses were great! Food looked and tasted amazing, all my guests were impressed. We did not use them for the cake/desserts though so I cannot speak to that. Overall I would definitely recommend this venue, it is very affordable especially for how gorgeous the location is, you don't even feel like you're in small town central Alberta!
