Wedding Ceremony aboard the Tall Ship Silva
Initially we had planned to have our ceremony and reception at a different location, but 2 months out from the wedding we were told that the elevators were out-of-service and would not be working in time for our wedding day. This left us to scramble and frantically search for a new ceremony site that could accommodate 80-100 guests. We had expressed interest in getting group tickets for a rehearsal get-together the night before the wedding on the Tall Ship Silva, so I reached out to our contact at Murphy's and hoped beyond hope that maybe they had a charter available for the wedding day instead. The Silva was available for our wedding date so I booked it immediately, and I have to say of all the last minute wedding prep/emergency decisions I could make it was the best one EVER! The staff at Murphy's were amazing to work with and very accommodating, they completely put us at ease over what was a very stressful last minute decision. We chartered the Silva for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon- we had our ceremony on board (it was INCREDIBLE, the view was spectacular) and then spent the remainder of our charter taking in the sights and mingling with our friends and family as we cruised around the harbour with music, wine and food (which was delicious, 5 star!) catered by Murphy's. Our guests continue to tell us that it was the most wonderful experience to attend a wedding on a tall ship sailing around Halifax Harbour. If you want a beautiful, memorable ceremony and the epitome of a maritime wedding experience, this is it!Sent on 12/02/2018

We are having our wedding on the Tall Ship Silva. We have been working with Jennifer. She has been great so far :) We have looked at the ship, and she has answered our many questions about it - as it isn't a typical venue. The catering is also through Murphy's. Everything has been great so far :)Sent on 31/05/2015
