We had our wedding at Oakview Terrace last week and it was the most wonderful experience! The venue manager, May, was a dream to work with. She was absolutely amazing, very accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day would go smoothly. We didn't have a wedding planner, so May took extra care to make sure everything was coordinated. We had a traditional Chinese menu and the food was delicious. The staff were all very kind and helped whenever they could. The bartenders were awesome. The venue itself is the perfect combination of cute and elegance, which is why we wanted to have our wedding here. Having the chapel, reception hall and garden all in once place just made things so much easier. The heart shaped pond/lake added so much beauty to the venue as well. Everything just worked out so well. All the guests were surprised by how beautiful the place is as none of them had heard about Oakview Terrace before. This place is truly a hidden gem. I would recommend this venue, and May, to everyone.

We booked Oakview terrace chapel for our wedding ceremony and initially was so impressed with how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the customer service was. However, day of our ceremony, we were so disappointed with Oakview's services due to a multitude of reasons. First of all, when it came to the final bill, gratuity was applied which it never said it would be on our contract (and was applied to the final costs with tax). Secondly, it rained on the day of our ceremony, and were told it would not be an issue as the ceremony was going to be inside. However, when we arrived to the venue, all the chapel seats were wet due to leaks in the roof and the groomsmen had to clean it as they could not find any staff on site. We understand its an older building, however, it was clearly not maintained as the pews were splintering and uneven, the roof had leaks, the light bulbs were very dim and there were cob webs and dust everywhere. In addition, we paid extra for use of the mics connected to the audio system, but it did not work on the day of. Additionally, we told Oakview ahead of time when our decor team was coming, but day of, Oakview had locked the doors of the chapel and were not present to let in the decor team which delayed the decor team by over an hour. Nothing was set up that was promised would be (such as easels for our wedding sign), and no staff were present to help us when we came resulting in last minute rushes by our wedding party to finish setting up when the guests were already arriving. The biggest complaint we have is how our assigned day of coordinator ruined our ceremony. We had a song that our wedding party practiced walking down to, which I had meticulously timed out. However, when it came down for my time (the bride) to walk down the aisle, our day of coordinator from Oakview refused to let me in saying "there is another song" for me to walk down to, which I kept insisting there wasn't because I planned it and only planned for one song. She refused to open the chapel doors even after getting the cues from the bridal party inside the chapel to let me in. This resulted in a very awkward 2min and 30 second gap of everyone standing and waiting for me to be let in and a huge confusion for our friend helping us control the music. This for me was a huge disappointment to the ceremony as it was always my dream to walk down the aisle with my father to that specific song I planned, but because the coordinator wouldn't let me in, I was unable to walk to the song that I wanted to. The entire time we were there, all the staff were so preoccupied planning the next day event and were unhelpful to our event that day, such as not being present to help us with our event when we arrived due to setting up the next day event, even though we paid a lot of money with gratuity already included. We also paid extra for champagne service, and when it came to that, the bartender was not helpful. We saw a bottle of champagne on the bar and when we asked the bartender if it was for us, he completely ignored us, and turned around to continue cleaning glasses.
The only good thing that came out of choosing Oakview was the beauty of the grounds, but the service was very disappointing.

When searching for a venue, we wanted to find somewhere close to the city with views of nature and water, windows that allowed natural lighting indoors, and also served a full 10-course Chinese dinner. Oakville Terrace checked all these boxes and we were completely blown away at our first meeting by the breathtakingly beautiful, gorgeous, and well-maintained buildings and grounds. Pictures just don't do it justice. It was also the perfect size for our wedding of 90 guests. The number one compliment I heard among our families and friends was how stunning the venue is. Even my uncle who normally has very little to say is still bringing up how much he loved the venue at our weekly family dinner.

What I loved most about working with May and Denver was that they were straight to the point, completely transparent regarding pricing, and flexible with our requests. At every step, whether it was during our in-person meetings or over email, it truly felt like they were on our team and committed to helping us achieve what we wanted. We never felt pressured into things we didn't need and May made great recommendations that fit our vision. As we didn't have a wedding planner or decor team, May's experience and guidance was invaluable to us and knowing she would be there on our wedding day filled me with reassurance that our day would go smoothly.

I really appreciate that they listened and always waited until we were back at the table to ask how we were doing and if we were finished.

All-in-all, we had such an amazing day and we credit a significant portion to May and the Oakville Terrace team. They not only met our expectations but exceeded them all. It was truly everything we dreamed of and more. May is such a genuine and lovely person and I can't wait for our paths to cross again.

New owners need to step up their game. The grounds were left to grow over with weeds, not ideal for photos! Dinner service, very slow, unorganized - if you order a vegetarian meal, be prepared to eat alone. This meal was served first at the table and was a good 15-20 minutes before the rest of the table was served - this was for all courses! Service is unprofessional - plates were removed from the table before guest were finished. They didn’t even ask if you were done. Served coffee by picking up your cup with their hand over the cup and all fingers around the brim. I don’t want to drink where your fingers have been! Very unorganized while serving dinner - at times there were 8 serve staff buzzing around the table and an average of 3 people handled your plate in front of your before it was placed. If felt like “dinner and a show” - a comedy horror!
