Gretell is incredibly talented, super fun to chat with, and made the whole process feel easy and collaborative. At my trial, I realized I didn’t totally know what I wanted — because I love makeup, I basically said ‘yes’ to everything and wanted to go full glam. After looking back at the trial photos, I totally understood why so many brides prefer incorporating some softer elements. So on my wedding day, I came with a few notes about slightly paring things down, like choosing a slightly more natural lip colour and going for a thinner eyeliner line, etc.
Gretell was so enthusiastic and understanding. She worked with me to refine and adapt the look based on our trial and our conversations. She kept the polished, full-glam feel I loved, while still making sure I looked and felt like me.
On the wedding day, my makeup was flawless and stayed in place all night long. My hair was absolutely perfect, too (exactly how I pictured it!).

Loved How They Catered to My Skin Tone and Hair Type!
The agency offers a wide range of stylists and makeup artists with experience across different skin tones and hair types. This inclusivity was very important to me and one of the reasons I chose them. During our initial meeting, Taryn gave me excellent advice that helped me choose a hairstyle appropriate for my hair type (4C).
Faye was also very accommodating. When I asked for a last-minute makeup trial, she was able to make it work. I highly recommend doing a makeup trial. I scheduled mine before my bachelorette, which was perfect because it allowed me to see what worked and what did not with the style. This made the day-of process easier and gave me peace of mind for a comfortable and enjoyable wedding celebration.
Faye and Taryn were wonderful to work with. They made the getting-ready process fun and enjoyable, and we had great conversations throughout. I highly recommend the team at Faye Smith Agency for weddings or any special occasion.

Other notes:
Juliana also put together classic but complimentary looks for my sister and mom -- an especially notable feat given my mom never wears makeup! She was also able to adapt to scent sensitivities with her product choices.
I did have some trouble nailing down a trial date in the springtime due to the influx of other bridal bookings (book early, ladies!)
At my trial, Faye and I had some issues with mascara transfer which she corrected for the final wedding look, and she was able to put together a gorgeous, vintage-inspired but fresh look for me that lasted all day, even despite late summer rain and humidity! I've received so many compliments about my wedding makeup specifically that are easy to attribute to Faye!
Hair & Makeup by Faye Smith Agency!
I had my hair and makeup trial a few months prior to the wedding date, and planned it for the same day I had a bridal boudoir booking so i was able to test the hold and wear on the hairstyle and makeup. (Which I recommend for a trial, definitely go out that night and test the waters! If anything doesn't feel right, or falls out of place, take note and let Fayes team know and they will make sure to tweak it for the day of!)
At the trial, I was able to try 2 different hairstyles I was interested in, and upon seeing the second I instantly fell in love. The first style was an up-do with the second being a side braided style. Faye was able to switch so quicky between the two styles, and offered plenty of options and suggestions to help me figure out the final look. As for the makeup, I showed her a few reference pictures of what I was looking for, and she nailed it. I literally only had one minor adjustment.
Up until the day of the wedding, the communication between Faye and her team was so easy and simple, literally relieved me of any stress I had while I was talking to them. When I was worried about the timing and which bridesmaid they would be working on first, they sent me a detailed schedule of what to expect on the day of, and what time each of my bridesmaids, and myself, would be sitting in the chairs for either makeup or hair. They allotted enough time at the end for any touchups, and were super patient with us while the photographer snapped some pictures of us getting ready.
As I (the bride), was the only one who had the trial done, Faye and her team made sure to let my other girls know to be as vocal as they needed on the day of the wedding. Meaning, ANY small thing that the girls weren't 100% satisfied about, as long as we let them know, they would do everything in their power to fix it.
My sister actually casually wiped all the foundation off her face after she got her makeup done, as she felt it was too 'heavy' and wanted it to feel lighter and it literally was no issue at all for the artists. They simply sat her back down, asked what she was looking for again and redid it. My sister literally said afterwards that she has never felt so gorgeous in her entire life.
In fact, ALL of my bridesmaids were STARING at themselves in the mirrors, in shock of how beautiful they all looked. As for myself, I felt like a queen, completely pampered to the last detail. I even brought some hair accessories at the last moment that Faye was able to intertwine into my hair, making it that much more magical. The confident boost was insane, and we owe it all to Faye, Juliana and Alice. Also, they were all a blast to get ready with- we jammed to some awesome music and had a great time!!
Included with the Bridal Hair & Makeup Package, I got a small touch-up kit. It came with some tissues, blotting paper, Q-Tips, eyelash glue and some lipstick. The only thing is I wish it had some foundation or powder in it as well for quick touch ups (specifically around the mouth for after dinner haha). But either way, I was honestly enjoying my wedding way to much to even bother with any touch ups.
The hair and makeup for my bridesmaid was one of my gifts to them, and Faye Smith Agency offered a discount if you book for 5+ bridesmaids (non-bridal hair and makeup), so that worked out nicely. I feel like the price of the services was a great deal honestly, especially since 6 of us got our hair and makeup done (with touchups and photos) within a 4.5 hour timeline.
Thank you so much for the phenomenal work you guys did, it was an amazing feeling to have- seeing all the important girls in my life feel that beautiful.

Faye Smith Makeup & Hair began in 2007 when I started my career as a solo makeup and hair artist. My training began in my home country, England, and continued across seas to Canada where I attended the world-renowned makeup school, Blanche Macdonald, in 2008.
Since then, I have grown my company into a team of incredibly talented artists, and have rebranded the company as “Faye Smith Agency.” Myself and my team have won the BC Wedding Awards Best Wedding Hairstyle award in 2015 and 2018, and acheived a finalist position in 2019 and 2020.
I now offer a range of beauty services at my studio, Primp & Proper, which includes makeup and hair artistry, professional hair and makeup education, lash lifting, brow and lash tinting, brow and facial threading.
Alice is an international Makeup and Hair Artist who is known for her creative display of various talents from flawless natural glam to dramatic fantasy and special effects styles. Her Halloween Makeup skills are out of this world! Alice’s artistic skills also extend into esthetics and she offers blow outs, lash lifts, brow lamination, and lash and brow tinting at Faye Smith Agency’s sister Gastown salon, Primp & Proper.
After moving to Vancouver from Mexico in 2018, Alice has graduated from JCI Institute, and has also completed her training as a Cosmetologist at the Vancouver Community College. Alice is the only exclusive Faye Smith Agency artist who is formerly trained by Faye herself.
She will help you to achieve the perfect look for any type of event. Her main motivation is making her clients happy and helping them feel beautiful.
Alice’s beauty tip: Beauty is subjective, so we’re all beautiful to someone, but the only person who’s opinion really matters is yourself. We need to love and be true to ourselves, and not let anyone else get us down.
Kseniia is an experienced makeup artist from Russia, where the competition in the beauty industry is extremely high. While working as a head makeup artist for an international beauty bar Kseniia did makeup for many local influencers and celebrities.
Since coming to Canada Kseniia started exploring other faucets of her creativity – digital illustration and graphic design.
Kseniia specializes in creating clean editorial looks and complex eye makeups.
