Nicky (and the team) was incredible to work with. We opted to rent decor and the string light hanging service for our wedding in Vancouver. Everything was taken care of from the set up to take down, I didn't even see anyone from the team. Everything was perfectly laid out, tasteful, and exactly as advertised. The only difficult thing was deciding what to rent from the massive selection! It was such a relief to not need to worry about what to do with decor after the wedding, seeing as we flew in for the event. My family and friends got to show up and enjoy; no one needed to lift a finger.

Nicky and I sent a few emails back and forth to decide what we wanted the layout of the space to look like and when I showed up on the wedding day it was better than I even imagined. I cannot recommend One and Only Events enough. 10,000 percent a worthwhile investment for your special event!

We absolutely loved working with Nicky! Leading up to the wedding, Nicky was so organized, patient, kind, and professional. He thought of absolutely everything, and was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout our planning process. On the day of the wedding, Nicky and his assistant kept our day running smoothly--if there were any bumps in our day, we would have no idea, because they kept everything and everyone on track. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our day because Nicky was beyond amazing at his job. He gave us the gift of a perfect wedding day, and we would recommend him to any couple looking for a planner/day of coordinator!

We had a truly wonderful wedding at L’Abattoir in Vancouver. With a tight budget, we initially considered doing all the decor ourselves. But the L’Abattoir team highly recommended Nicky, saying he knows the venue inside and out — and they were absolutely right.

From the moment we arrived at the venue, Nicky made us feel so taken care of. It was raining that day, and I was actually shivering when we got to the restaurant. Nicky immediately brought us warm paper towels and a clean towel. That small gesture meant so much to me — it showed not just Nicky's professionalism, but also kindness and attention to detail. I knew right away we were in good hands.

We had sent Nicky a few inspiration photos, and Nicky suggested some beautiful items from their collection that matched our vision perfectly. Nicky also helped us with the decorations we brought ourselves, like the runner and artificial flowers. Everything came together so seamlessly — and honestly, it turned out even better than we expected.

What impressed us the most was how stress-free the entire process was. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day. Nicky handled everything with such calm and care, which allowed us to just enjoy our moment.

Nicky was our planner for our wedding at Van Dusen Gardens in June 2025 and we had an incredible day!

He was closely involved with every vendor interaction and was organized and reliable throughout the whole process. This was our first time planning a wedding, so it was incredibly helpful to have regular calls and check-ins and to navigate all the complexities of such a big event.

One pain point we ran into while interviewing wedding planners is that planners are incentivized to convince couples to spend lot on their weddings (more $$$ --> prettier event with the easiest vendors to work with for their portfolio). Every budget leads to some constraints and I appreciate that Nicky worked with our budget and helped think of creative solutions when needed.

Nicky was professional throughout the whole planning process and working with him saved us a ton of time and headache. He's an expert at his craft and I highly recommend working with him!

Working with Nicky was easily the best decision I made for my wedding. Nicky provided day of coordination services, but was so much more than just day of coordination. It was like brainstorming with a best friend. He was always kind, professional, fun, and so knowledgeable. He made the most fantastic vendor recommendations, and even helped me coordinate string lights for my venue with less than 48 hours notice. He was always a voice of reason, and had the best suggestions for decor. I gave him creative reign on a couple of pieces for my ceremony and reception, and what he put together was breathtaking. He was so present and involved on the day of, even my friends and family sang his praises. I can, with confidence, say my wedding would not have been the same without him. Nicky, thank you SO much!!

I wanted a very simple wedding that still exuded luxury and Nicky took our vision and made it a reality. What set Nicky apart from other planners and day-of coordinators for me is that he has such an open mind, such a positive energy, and clearly a wealth of experience and I thankfully thoroughly benefitted from it! He was also able to pivot so easily when things changed (or at least he made it look easy!).
