I don't even know where to start with reviewing L'abattoir because literally everything was perfect. My now husband and I postponed our wedding as a result of COVID, but wanted to still hold a civil ceremony with our closest family and friends, and still have a special event for it. And L'abattoir knocked it out of the park.
The service leading up to the event, working with Lainey and Alexis, was so smooth and seamless. They were timely with all correspondence, and even when I changed my mind on things, they were adaptive and helpful on absolutely everything.
The space itself - I honestly think it's the best small event space in the city. The exposed bricks, warm lighting, outdoor location in Gastown, and room set up is so effortless and beautiful it truly barely takes any decorations to make it perfect. I brought candles, place cards, and flowers - and that was it! We used the black chairs from in the restaurant, vs. the cream chairs in the private event space, and it looked so chic and NYC industrial/modern.
The food, of course, was exceptional, and such good value for an incredible 3 course dinner at a remarkable restaurant. And the drinks! Our on site bartender was such a hit - and all of the cocktails were so beautiful and fun/festive - they were all a hit with our guests.
I cannot stress how incredible everything was from start to finish, and would recommend l'abattoir to anyone hands down.

Private Dining Room Wedding L'Abattoir
We had an amazing experience with the team at L'Abattoir. We had less than a month to plan and execute our wedding and the team was more than amazing. They responded any questions we had in a timely manner and provided lots of alternatives to meet our needs. They also provide a list of vendors that they usually work with so you don't need to look for your own. We especially loved that the Private Dining Room was in a separate building from the actual restaurant with its own kitchen downstairs and the dining room upstairs. The dining room area was spacious which we were able to do our ceremony there and then turned into dining room. There was a nice variety of food and beverage selection, and we couldn't emphasize how amazing the food was. Overall, we had a wonderful time and planning was a breeze.

Micro-wedding reception at L'Abattoir
We had decided in August to throw a micro-wedding in September. Given the short notice, obviously there were some challenges in finding a great venue. However, we were very lucky that L'Abattoir has an availability for a Sunday evening late in September.
We could never be happier with a better option. The team (Lainey, Alexis) were so helpful, friendly and responsive throughout the process and walked us through each step of the way.
During the reception, Ashwan and the rest of the staff were truly helpful for providing the support we and our guests needed during the evening. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. We really had a great time (much more than what we had expected) and we are very thankful to the team at L'Abattoir for that.
We definitely recommend them for your next micro-party/wedding ceremony!

Excellent experience
The entire experience from start to finish was great. Planning our new wedding option during a pandemic was stressful enough, but the team at L'Abattoir was great. Lainey was super helpful and accommodating to all the changes we made along the way down to the last couple of days before the event. On the day of, the staff were friendly, professional, and respectful of our spaces and safety protocols were all followed which we appreciated. One of the best decisions we made was to have our wedding dinner here!
