Lainey and the rest of the team at L'Abattoir went above and beyond for our wedding. We held our ceremony and reception there in May 2023 and everything was just perfect. From the day we viewed the venue, until we left the reception, the staff treated us with a professionalism and kindness that went above and beyond. Not only did they help us organize our day, but they were just as excited for us to walk down the aisle as we were. Our guests raved about the space, and several mentioned that it was the best meal they've ever had. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an intimate wedding.

This is a phenomenal venue for a small wedding in Vancouver. They’ve clearly hosted lots of very involved weddings, and it was clear from the many positive reviewed that they were up to the task for pretty much anything. But we were looking for a low-key and low-stress ceremony + dinner with a small group of friends and family, without a lot of the other typical wedding ‘stuff’ - and they executed that flawlessly for us.

The entire experience planning experience was made fun and easy by the team. They were always quick to answer our emails and answer any questions, and provided loads of helpful suggestions. The venue is beautiful on its own, and required very little decoration on our part, so setup and takedown was a breeze. We also found the minimum spend/costs very competitive compared to other venues we looked at, and felt like we got a luxury experience on a very reasonable budget.

The dining room was the perfect size for our small group (about 25 people) - we had lots of space for mingling during cocktails before/after the ceremony, and for dancing after dinner while our friends did a DJ set. All our guests raved about the food, which was ample for everyone including those with lots of dietary restrictions. The wine and cocktails were also excellent! The service staff were organized and super on top of things, and our day-of coordinator kept things running smoothly the whole time. If there were any hiccups, we had no idea - we were just able to enjoy ourselves.

We are thoroughly delighted by our entire experience, and cannot thank the staff enough - it was fabulous!

From there, everything felt like a piece of cake. Any time something came up, Lainey was right there with a quick, clear answer. Their communication is top-tier; deadlines were always clear, and I never once had to stress. I genuinely enjoyed planning my wedding here because they made the entire process so seamless.

On the wedding night, Sarah was our lead and she was outstanding. The entire team, including the bartenders, were attentive, professional, and genuinely wonderful to work with.

And the food… WOW. Truly unforgettable. Our guests were blown away and are still talking about it.
