  • Full Coordination: My ALL TIME favourite service! My Full Coordination services allow me to become your new best buddy. I work SO closely with the two of you and on designing and creating a wedding that is essentially a “custom fit” and we get started as soon as you say “GO”! I’m here to walk you through every nook and cranny of the wedding planning process (and trust me, there’s a lot!) which allows you both to enjoy the big and small moments leading up to your epic day. In true Joelle lingo: I’m the “ranch to your chicken wings” or the “baileys to your coffee”, it’s just not the same without me (are you busting out laughing yet?? Me too!). But seriously, this is all about creating a stress-free experience for my couples because contrary to what some may think, it’s more than hiring a DJ or band, having good food and throwing down a few tablecloths. Weddings simply put are not what they were 10, even 5 years ago. They have several moving parts and can be very sophisticated when it comes to execution. I’ll walk you through selecting your venues, determine your wedding day style and colour palette, prepare your wedding budget, match you up with top wedding vendors who you can trust to carry out your vision and be your biggest support system throughout it all. I’m going to show up on your wedding day to execute all of our amazing plans, keep an eye on the timing of all the events and ensure that everything runs poetically. Every wedding varies when it comes to the scale/size as well as its. overall needs so I’ll give you a custom quote of what a Full Coordination’s price point would be when you come for a cocktail.

  • Wedding Day Management: This service is like that perfect, juicy maraschino cherry that finishes off a chocolate Sundae known as “the cherry on top”. My Wedding Day Management service is for couples who want to take on the leg work of the wedding planning themselves but want us there to be the eye for detail and most importantly, be there on your wedding day to make sure it's all PERFECTION! With this service, we get in touch with you one month before your wedding day where you hand over the reins to us and you go pour yourselves a cocktail or a wine, whatever tickles your fancy We’re going to produce your wedding day, help with your decor set-up on your big day, create a wildly detailed and customized wedding day timeline, design floor plans for your ceremony and reception, touch base with all your wedding vendors and so much more. Long story short, you’ve worked hard to bring it all together and we want you to be able to go into a massive chill mode for the next month. What’s the one job we put you in charge of? Being nothing but stoked to say I do.
  • VIP Wedding Day Management: For some couples, the Full Coordination is more than what they need but the Wedding Day Management just isn’t quite enough which is exactly why I created a VIP service. Here you get all of what’s included in a Wedding Day Management service PLUS 5 hours of time with me to do whatever you like with. We can chat over the phone about any questions or areas of uncertainty that you may have, lets hit up your ceremony and/or reception venue to do some floor plan brainstorming, have me join you in your floral consultation, meet me at the rental company where we will create your colour palette and design your wedding reception—-honestly, you name it and I’ll be game for it! These 5 hrs are completely free for you to use in whatever capacity best suits your needs. Need another 5 hours? No worries, add on as many as you like as each 5-hour window is $800.
  • Joy Datet: I love hanging out with newly engaged couples and know for a fact how helpful these are when you are either looking for a place to start or you’ve hit a roadblock 5 months into the planning process. Haven’t the slightest clue where to host your wedding? We’ve got some really cool places in mind. Looking for a 30,000 ft overview of how your wedding day is going to roll out? Let’s create a solid wedding day timeline. Need a full-blown floor plan for your ceremony and reception? Let’s flush that out together so you can get a visual. These hangouts are based strictly on whatever challenge it is that you’re currently facing so you’ll walk into my office with a said challenge(s) and walk out feeling PUMPED to get home, crack open your laptop and get that wedding planning machine up and running again.
  • Setup & Take Down: When it comes to decor, stationery, florals and backdrops it can come as a surprise as to how much time, effort and manpower it takes to get everything completely set up just the way you envisioned it! We’ll set up a hangout with you one week before the wedding to go over all of your decors and ensure we’re on the exact same page! After that, all that’s left to do is for you to relax and enjoy your wedding day!! Once it’s all set up, the next thought is, well who’s going to take it all down?! We will arrive at 12:00AM to take your reception decor down which gives you and your guests the opportunity to continue dancing and celebrating instead of wondering where to start! We will box up your personal decor items and the majority of your rentals (excluding chairs, roof treatments and perimeter draping) and store them in an agreed-upon space so that you are able to easily pick everything up the day after!
  • Pop The Question: You’ve spent so much time thinking through this moment and it is finally at your doorstep. You are ready to ask that special someone to spend the REST OF THEIR LIFE loving you and you couldn’t be more excited! If you’re reading this, you want to kick that proposal up a notch! You want this moment to be extra special and completely unforgettable. We will think through the location, setting, decor, florals, having a photographer or videographer capture it from start to finish with you and any other important details you would like to include to create the most epic proposal setting this worlds ever seen!
  • Special & Corporate Event Planning: We love a good party, and, let’s be honest, who doesn’t?? Our team travels wherever we need to be and we’re happy to customize each client's needs specific to the event they’re hosting. There’s always something to celebrate and we’re definitely the type of people who think outside the box and thrive on breathing a breath of fresh into an otherwise stale, “been there done that” type of event. We’re happy to handle any event needs such as design + decor to guest list management, setup + takedown, management of contracts, production and everything in-between.     Hire This Girl. Have No Regrets.

    Joelle Tripp. What word can we use to describe our life once Joelle found her way into it? BOMB-FRIGGIN-TASTIC.
    We initially met with Joelle after joining up for her Bad Ass Brides membership, but it was far before that when I fell in love with this radiant lover of life and all things wedding.
    Every time we worked with Joelle, whether it was through the Bad Ass Brides group, our consult, our first “Hitched Hangout” as it was formerly called, or our actual full on wedding planning, we felt completely at ease with how our big day would all come together.
    Myself, I’m a planner. I organize bitchin’ parties and events socially and at my job, so I know what I like. That, coupled with the fact that my future husband is a chef, we had pretty high standards. But I also wanted to just sit back and enjoy the ride, so we handed complete creative control over to Joelle and her kick-ass team. Was I a little scared to just hand it all over? Uh, friggin’ yes. But let me tell you how absolutely AMAZING that all turned out to be for us.
    Stress? What stress? I was drinking White Claws and smokin’ Prime Times with my girls all week before the wedding, with absolutely not a care in the world because Joelle and Katelyn were absolute frigging rock stars. From the second they arrived, everyone was in love with these cool wedding planner cats!
    To be honest, when people asked me before the wedding what our décor was going to look like, all I could do really was shrug and brag about how I kept 80 cacti alive for 2 months. I had no idea what they were going to be for or what else was going to be going on top of or beside anything, but Joelle had this vision created, which I just let her run with, and she ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NAILED it.
    Did she create a cigar lounge? Yup. Did she help plant two 8 foot cacti in my mothers yard? Sure did. Did she touch base with every single vendor and build them a timeline? Yes she did my dudes. Did she pickup leaves and branches in 100km/h winds, and turn on the song that makes my husband cry like a baby for our first look, and bring me jello shots and build the absolute best wedding ever in history? Fuck yes she did.
    Joelle is a rockstar. She’s elbow grease and a paralyzer gettin’ shit done, and made for quite literally, the most memorable wedding our little town maybe has ever seen. “You’ve set a new standard for weddings in this town,” said one guest. “I don’t know what you paid her, but we would have paid her double,” said my dad. Have it be known, that I think if given the chance, my parents would trade me straight across for Joelle. They love her that much now.
    Hopefully the photos do all of this some justice, because this girl and her fabulous team, put every ounce of their souls into our day to make sure that every ounce of our souls were in complete bliss.
    Thank you, Joelle. Thank you for the time you put in and the thousands of texts and Voxxer messages you replied to at all hours, and the random video calls. And most importantly, thank you for letting our wedding day just be the best day we could have ever imagined, and complete perfection.

    And whether she likes it or not, Joelle has to now stay friends with me forever because she's that awesome.

    1. You simply won't ever understand just how much it meant to me to have you and Charles' trust from day 1. You handed over the keys to your wedding day and pretty much said, "see you in September!" 🙏🏼This type of relationship does NOT happen often and I relished all the moments of designing and executing your wedding day. So thank YOU so much.

    Not all heroes wear capes

    What a rockstar Joelle and her team have been throughout this season of covid, she is just what any bride needs during this time. Thankyou Joelle for your help in making our soon to be wedding that much easier to plan, and for my sanity. Book in with her for a Hitched Hangout ladies you wont regret any of it, she may even have an inside to saving you $$ on rentals! It might just pay for itself!

    The easiest 5 stars I've ever given!

    If you are wanting someone to guide you through years of wedding planning, or just to manage things the day-of, look no further guys. Seriously. I can't speak highly enough of our girl Joelle. She is a ray of sunshine with the energy to match! Her creativity, passion and willingness to go the extra mile was everything we were looking for and more in a planner.

    Amazing to work with!

    Joelle helped make my vision come to life through just an online consult! I was having trouble picturing everything we were planning and she went through it all and made it even better than we could have ever imagined. She has also been a huge factor in calming the anxieties around COVID and wedding planning during a pandemic. 100% recommend for any of her services! Personally I booked a Hitched Hangout and was part of her Badass Bride Group. The value from those 2 things alone were off the charts. She is an awesome human and is amazing at her job.

    Hitched Hangout with Joelle

    I came across Joelle at my cousin’s wedding that I was a bridesmaid of. She was coordinating the wedding and I can’t lie when I tell you, from the minute we met I could tell she was an absolute gem, and we connected right away. My wedding was coming up the following year and after learning about her services, I knew I had to sit down with Joelle for a Hitched Hangout. My worries regarding my wedding were mostly surrounded by my lack of creativity when trying to bring the décor all together, as well as the dreaded topic of dealing with COVID-19 at our wedding. Before talking anything wedding, she asked, “Well, what are we drinking!?” MY KIND OF GAL.

    After my Hitched Hangout with Joelle, which really just felt like talking with an old friend, I felt like she had lifted much of the weight off my shoulders with her guidance and advice. She is truly a breath of fresh air!! I am a very Type A person, and I have been giving myself headache after headache trying to navigate the world of wedding planning during a global pandemic. However, after sitting down with Joelle, I feel confident in my ability to continue planning this wedding with a little “Joelle magic”. ;) She has given me so much clarity, and has helped me allow myself to claim this wedding as mine, along with my fiancé of course, (haha) and to not apologize for the decisions we make for our big day. I am extremely thankful to have had those couple hours with her to hash out every single worry/doubt/idea that I had in mind. Aside from being amazing at what she does, she is such an amazing person and makes every moment so much fun! I can’t thank Joelle enough for this service she provides and would highly highly recommend it to any Bride and Groom!

    I am soooooo grateful for Joelle

    I had been very overwhelmed and stressed about centrepieces and linen choices. Pinterest had been my best friend but also my worst nightmare with figuring out what to do for them. But then came Joelle... She let me tell her all the different ideas I had found and was able to take aspects of my fiancé’s and I’s likes, as well as ideas I had had and create something unique and beautiful. She helped direct me with the colour scheme and reminded me not to overthink the little things. Leaving our little confab, a weight had been lifted. I felt peace and a new excitement about our wedding day! I would 100% recommend Joelle!

    Joelle was an AWESOME Wedding Planner!

    Joelle did an amazing job with my wedding! The day of the event everything fell into place and everyone had an amazing time. She's super organized with providing spreadsheets and timelines. We live in Camrose and she was very accommodating by driving here to meet with us once a month face to face to discuss each detail. I would highly recommend her to anyone getting married as their wedding planner!

    Joelle made our wedding day ( and rehearsal day) so much easier and less stressful for both of us and our families. It all went perfect! Whenever I felt stressed or disorganized she was one step ahead of me knowing exactly what was going on! She worked hard and did everything she could to make the whole experience easier for us! We could not have done it without her (or we could have but a lot of things would be been missing and I would have been a stress case). Joelle was easy to communicate with and always held true to her word! She got everything done in a timely matter and did anything I could have possibly asked from her! If you are thinking of hiring her as a wedding planner, do it, you won't regret is! She clearly loves what she does and does it amazingly!

    Amazing Vendor

    As a bride who signed up for these services before the Covid-19 pandemic was even a thing, I can honestly say it is the second-best decision I made as a bride (the first has to be my hubby, right?!) And I think my guests agreed - “Where did you find her?!?” “She has this thing on lockdown!” “What’s her name again?!” Were just a few of the comments my guests shared from our day. Not to mention the awe of other vendors and wedding industry professionals.

    Being a VIP Wedding Day Management client of Joelle’s was nothing short of wonderful! The services I received were EXACTLY as advertised - you meet, share your vision, do the work of the dreaming and scheming, and hand things over for those finishing touches weeks before the big day. And before your eyes (or maybe even behind them, because it sure as heck appears seamless!) its magic!!! I used my extra hours for things like a site visit, some last minute decor add-ins, and a surprise sweetheart table. But, in reality, I know I got SO much more than I bargained for, especially throughout the pandemic process multiple check-ins, empathy, compassion, and an exterior mind’s eye when I couldn’t see it myself.

    I find it incredibly suiting that Joelle has recently rebranded into “Joy by Joelle” as she is an embodiment of this, both for her clients and as a person. She is professional, prompt when needed, and casual when not, making working with her really like having a rendez-vous with an old friend. Did I mention she is FUN?! I found her accountability and willingness to lean into hard conversations admirable; she follows-up when necessary and keeps truckin’ along when not. She has amazing knowledge of the industry, access to fantastic vendors and resources, and (simply put) Gets. It. Done!!! But most importantly, she listened to me - to what I wanted and what I needed - throughout this weird and wonderful time.

    I joked a few times that I was “her first joy” but in reality, she was mine! Thank you doesn’t even cover the gratitude I feel towards her. And, while I plan on keeping my husband, I am already starting to think of ways that I can have an anniversary reception in the future because she is JUST. THAT. GOOD.

    So incredibly grateful for Joelle!!

    There really are so many things that we could say about Joelle and yet still not do justice to her amazing work!
    By the time we reached out and asked for her help we had come through so many challenges and were left feeling exasperated with the whole wedding planning process. From our very first meeting – which was less than a couple of months out from our wedding date – Joelle brought so much calm and gave us a solid foundation for our wedding-weary feet; as well as reinvigorating the enthusiasm that became jaded in the face of changing venues, shifting Covid rules and flaky vendors.
    We immediately felt so at ease with her, especially given her amazing sense of humor (colourful language, corny references and movie quotes included) and how she just undoubtedly loves “LOVE”.
    We gave Joelle a rough idea of our vision and the direction we wanted to go in, and, with her incredible insight and professionalism, she was there every step of the way turning these into reality!! From her help with picking out decorations, to the layout of our tented reception, and to dealing so well with each and every one of our vendors, Joelle was instrumental in giving us an amazing wedding day – she probably even had something to do with the beautiful weather also. It’s incredibly difficult to put into words the feeling we had when we arrived at our reception and found that what Joelle had pulled together was perfectly ‘us’.
    Aside from all this, however, probably her most important contribution was being the bulwark against accepting things as ‘good enough’; she was always in our corner, rooting us on to never settle for disappointment but to go for the most amazing and beautiful wedding we could possibly have. This speaks to the incredible standard to which she holds her own work, and both we and our guests cannot recommend Joelle more highly.
    When the day itself finally arrived all we had to do was enjoy one of the most special moments of our lives, and we will be forever grateful to Joelle helping us start our marriage off in a truly wonderful way ♥.

I'm Joelle 🙋🏼‍♀️ The gritty entrepreneur, head of the creative shenanigans department and owner of Joy by Joelle! You'll always catch me 'thinking outside the box', in a backwards hat (or some kind of hat for that matter!), and in my garage building/working on my latest project! If you've made it to this page I'm guessing we're 'vibing' already, right? If there's one thing I know about myself it's that I do things differently and I don't like taking the beaten path. I truly believe I was put on this earth to flex my creative muscles and I consider myself incredibly lucky to do it via our client's weddings and events--the best!!

Though the framed certificates have been super helpful, I hit the ground full tilt in 2015 and the experience I've gained since starting up what you might remember as "Hitched by Joelle" back in 2015 is the juiciest part of said credentials. With 60+ weddings and some big profile corporate events under my belt...now that's what I'm talking about 🤘🏼

I believe in love wholeheartedly. I also believe there is no cap to the amount of joy we can blend into our lives. So my wish for you when you work with me, meet me, or interact with my company is that you find some snippet of JOY!

Heyyy, I’m Katelyn!! If I had to sum myself up in a few words, they would probably be, ‘a country-loving, iced coffee obsessed, tik tok addicted, redhead and all that that implies.’ I have a passion for events, design & art. To say that I am infatuated with making gift baskets would be the understatement of the century; luckily I have been able to tie this craze to my love language of gift-giving. On non-event Fridays you can find me at home, dancing around the living room with my fiance and pups, Nova & Atlas, like an absolute goofball. On Saturdays, I am usually engulfed in some sort of arts and crafts project. To my family, I am commonly referred to as the glue; I will do anything for those close to me. I play the roles of big sister, best friend, confidant and therapist on a daily basis. I find myself leading the charge in emergency situations with no sweat, yet balling my eyes out to every cute dog video on the internet.

I received my Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Accounting, but you will NEVER catch me doing my own taxes! I've worked for the University Hospital Foundation helping coordinate the Festival of Trees and the Heart Pledge Day Marathon. I've also sat on multiple non-profit event planning committees with organizations such as the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.

I LOVE events and even better, I love helping clients build their dream weddings + events! There is nothing better than watching a client let go of any stress they have about the logistics (that's my job 🤗), as their eyes light up in excitement thinking about all of the fun and ✨ pretty ✨ elements of their wedding or event!

Hi!!! I'm Anna. I joined Joelle's team in 2020 and it has been an absolute blast! I'm such a strong believer that life is short so you have to do what you actually enjoy, and here I am! I've always LOVED event planning and weddings (even when I was a kid, I was very extra about planning my birthday party lol) and somehow fell into the rabbit hole that is Joelle from there.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta with a major in drama and a minor in women's and gender studies, and I feel like that sums me up in a nutshell pretty well lol. I have a passion for education so you'll often find me collecting books on endless topics I can't wait to learn more about... the book collector hobby has definitely got out of hand and I may never finish them all, but one can dream! My current field of interest is women and art, I will now take any and all book suggestions. On my days off you can find me out with my partner and our puppy, Joey, exploring the river valley, or out for wine with my closest of friends talking for hours on end (I'm super chatty and not sorry about it).

One of my favourite things about weddings and events is that there are NEVER two that are the same, each one is as unique as the client, and it just gets me #weepy every time. I am so excited to be a part of making your wedding or event a reality!
