Based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Primrose Event Planning and Design provides professional wedding services for soon-to-be newlyweds. Kelly Webber and Mackenzie Tennessen are a skilled team that is truly passionate about wedding and event coordination. Kelly and Mackenzie are both certified by the Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada and together, they will strive to plan your dream wedding celebration, creating an occasion that reflects the love you and your partner have for one another.

A must have for our wedding!

When we met Primrose, we were instantly drawn into how personable their team is, and we could see ourselves being friends with these people. They impressed us with their ability to deal with difficult vendors, and any curveballs that were thrown our way. Primrose did both the design and month of coordination for our wedding, and we loved how the team collaborated to make sure that everything was taken care of. It relieved so much stress for us to have the team set up and take down everything for our wedding, especially since there were time constraints on the venue that would not have been possible for us to set up on our wedding day. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and it was worth it to hire the team to ensure that our wedding was stress free and beautiful.

My wedding fairy godmother

Wow, what can I say other than; our day was PERFECT in every way, and that could only happen with the help of Kelly & her team! From the very first time we chatted right until the end of our night, Kelly handled every request with professionalism and poise so that we didn’t have to sweat the small stuff. She kept everything on track and allowed our party to unfold perfectly. The photo I included of us sums everything up: this was our faces the moment we saw the room for the first time! 😍

Day Of Coordination

Working with MacKenzie was the best decision we could have made leading up to our special day. We hired Primrose Event Planning for their Day-of Coordination. The relief that we felt on our wedding day knowing that all the details would be taken care of was worth it all. She took care of everything from our rehearsal details to creating a timeline that made our wedding day run so smoothly that it truly was the best day ever. Our vision came to life all because of her and we felt so blessed and are forever grateful for the work that she put into our big day. Thank you again MacKenzie!

A One of a Kind Wedding Day Designer!

We hired Primrose Events to design and decorate our wedding day this past July. Choosing Kelly with Primrose Event Planning and Design was the best decision we made when picking out wedding vendors! We came to Kelly in a panic about 6 months before our wedding day, as we were ghosted by another wedding designer who we had booked a year in advance. From the very beginning Kelly was so amazing to work with - she was so knowledgeable about the wedding industry, she really listened to our wedding day dreams and she worked so hard to make them all come true. Whenever I came up with a new idea or wanted to change something about the day of details she was easy to contact and communicate with, and most importantly she was always on board! She always had such a kind and positive attitude throughout the entire planning process, and truly lifted such a weight off my shoulders. In hindsight, I wish I would have hired her as our wedding day planner instead of just our decorator/designer!

Another great part about working with Kelly was she was always mindful of our budget, which can be hard to find in wedding vendors! She was open and honest with us about what we could and could not afford, and made every effort to find cheaper alternatives across the city if needed. Weddings are EXPENSIVE, and hiring a wedding vendor who is mindful about this was so important. Also, did I mention that she is a calligrapher?? We also hired her for her calligraphy talents, and it added the perfect touch to our day!

Planning a wedding is no easy feat, and having Kelly by my side to help with all the design and decor details of our wedding day helped to make this such a beautiful experience. I would recommend Kelly and her team to anyone looking for a wedding designer/decorator or planner. She is organized, smart, authentic, creative (and funny!) and you will not regret hiring her to make your wedding day dreams come true!!!

Lifesavers!

We hired Primrose for Day of Coordination and I’m so glad that we did! They handled all of the last minute issues that cropped up in the final well, including (but not limited to) setting up the ceremony chairs when we found out the venue didn’t, dealing with an anthill, procuring a welcome/direction sign, setting out menu cards, and probably a thousand other things. This was definitely money well spent, since they did an amazing job behind the scenes making sure our day ran smoothly! If I was to do it over again, I’d strongly consider full wedding planning services, as they really saved us a ton of stress and work.

Love love love them

I had hired Mackenzie and her staff later on in my wedding planning, but the amount and support that she had given took a lot of stress off of me . Especially on my wedding day. I’m am grateful that Mackenzie was there for me and my husband on our wedding day. I would definitely be recommending her to people. She went beyond and above for us and still is! So thank you again Mackenzie!

Made for a Perfect Day

We had the most wonderful experience working with Primrose to plan our July 2nd wedding. Throughout the changing COVID restrictions, they helped us keep our heads on and continued to plan as though we would be able to host a reception. With two weeks notice when restrictions changed, they got all of the rentals and food orders in place and we were able to have a lovely reception at the Banff Springs all thanks to them. Their eye for design made the tablescapes, florals, and colour palate STUNNING and Robyn's photography captured such beautiful photos of our day. We cannot thank or recommend Primrose enough!

Sam's Bachelorette Party

Primrose worked with me to put together a bachelorette party for my friend, Sam. I had contacted them pretty late in the process and the way that they were able to jump in and help bring the event to fruition was incredible! I was stressed and short for time, having just moved into my new house, and Kelly stepped in to design my new space with decor, food, and beverages. She even spent 5 hours building a custom massive balloon arch that I had requested. When Sam arrived, she was stunned with how beautiful everything was put together and absolutely loved the balloon arch. It was an incredible, eye-catching feature and it provided a great backdrop for photos. Thanks, Primrose!

Summer Company BBQ

We had the ladies from Primrose design and coordinate our company BBQ back in 2019. Our company was turning 5 years old and we wanted to celebrate with our entire crew. There was about 100 people there, we held it in a public park. It was beautifully designed with the theme of Summer BBQ. We had red checkered linens, floral centrepieces, and white chairs. We worked with them to coordinate a buffet style food service that ran efficiently and smoothly, despite the heavy rainstorm that came in the afternoon. Luckily, they were prepared by holding our BBQ where there was a permanent structure with a roof to keep everyone dry and warm. The rain didn't stay for long and everyone had a wonderful, fun-filled afternoon!

So Grateful!

Hiring Primrose was something my partner and I discussed even before we got engaged. I’m a very type-A personality and knew that planning a wedding would not bring out my best side. For the first 2 weeks of our engagement we tried to do things on our own, and I priced out different Event Planners. I had at least 5 meltdowns in the 14 days, all around the emotions and stress that would inevitably be coming my way over the next 11 months of planning. Not only was Primrose a less expensive option than other companies in my area, but they were so quick to respond and answer my questions before we officially hired them.
Over the 11 months of wedding planning, we had a lot of family ups-and-downs, and each time I sat in the hospital dealing with an issue, I was even more grateful that we hired someone to help bring our vision to life. Each zoom call, each email and text, made me more and more certain that we hired the right people for the job. Whether it was Mackenzie telling me “you don’t need to worry about that until May”, or Kelly reading my mind when I said “I’m not sure why, but I don't think I like those flowers”, they knew exactly what I needed and what was the focus.
When Kelly sent me her design proposal for the wedding day, my eyes teared up - She had somehow captured exactly what I was trying to express, with my limited vocabulary for wedding design and decor.

We had many issues with our venue throughout the planning process. They would take their time responding to emails, and give us mixed information over the 10 months from booking them. Fortunately, Mackenzie had no problem sending multiple emails and calling the contact person until we finally got a response. She also kept track of all the correspondence, so when issues arrived on the wedding day Mackenzie had a detailed history of what we were previously told. The day before, and the day of the wedding lead to even more issues with our venue, but I didn’t notice a single one because Mackenzie dealt with each and every one in a timely and incredibly professional manner.
The day after the wedding, Mackenzie and I were talking about some little details I had noticed with our meal, and she asked that I write them down as detailed as possible so she could add them to her list of things. I appreciated that Mackenzie did not stress me out with the details of things going wrong leading to our wedding, and that she was determined to ensure that our venue rectified and compensated us for the issues she noticed.

Our wedding day was a complete success in our eyes. Everything was beautiful and better than I ever could have imagined. Looking back, I recently said to my partner - we did not fight once during wedding planning, and I attribute that, at least 90%, to the fact that we hired Primrose to reduce our stress and in turn, my meltdowns!

Mackenzie is a certified Wedding Coordinator through The Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada. She has years of experience planning weddings, fundraisers, parties, and productions, and has a passion for organizing and coordinating. When she isn’t working on weddings, she is planning productions with her theatre company, Uniform Theatre. Mackenzie also has a diploma in Theatre Arts, and a certificate in applied Bookkeeping.

Kelly is a certified Event Designer through The Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada, with a passion for creating exquisite events. She is dedicated to making your event vision become a reality. When she is not designing events, she is busy creating custom pieces for her company, Calligraphy by Kelly. Whether you need stationery for your big day, or a new custom piece for home décor, Kelly does it all. Kelly also has a diploma in Theatre Arts, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta.
