How to Have a Destination Bachelorette Party in Your Home City

Don’t have the time or money to jetset for your BFFs bach bash? Host a destination bachelorette party in your home city.

Destination bachelorette parties are definitely having their moment right now and while they may be awesome, they’re not exactly the most time or budget-friendly option in the world. If you want to take your guest of honour and her girl squad on an unforgettable “last hurrah” vacay but don’t want to set foot on a plane, we’ve got some tips for you.

Here’s how to have a destination bachelorette party in your home city.

Destination
While you’ll probably host your pre-game at one of your homes, there’s a good chance the bride-to-be won’t want to spend the entire evening there, so find a bar, restaurant or venue that mirrors her dream vacay destination. Need some help? if she never stops talking about going to Bora Bora, a tiki bar may be the perfect spot. Or, maybe she loves everything Parisian? Book a private room at an upscale French restaurant and spend the evening sipping champagne and dining on escargot. Or, if she loves Manhattan? Book a swanky penthouse suite on Airbnb for the night.

Drinks
Speaking of pre-games, you’ll want to get creative with the drinks your serving. Yes, everyone loves craft beer and ciders, but if you’re looking to add a bit of vacation flair to your event, you may want to try something a touch more exotic. From French 75s to Pina Coladas, you’ve got plenty to choose from.

Dress Code
You want your guest of honour to feel like they’ve been transported far far away for a destination bachelorette party, and being surrounded by people in chunky knits and Ugg boots will definitely take away from that. Ask everyone to arrive in their finest aloha shirts and beachy frocks (or whatever dress code fits your party) so that your theme really hits home. Remember, guests can layer up between venues to stay warm, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Swag
Every good bach party has swag! Stock up on goodies that mesh with your theme so that all your guests can hold onto a memory of your awesome staycation. The options are endless with this so have a bit of fun with it. For example, if Hawaii is the destination bachelorette party you’ve chosen for inspiration, go for something like flowery leis and tropical temporary tattoos.

Playlist
Last but not least, you’ll want to sprinkle your bachelorette party playlist with some hits from your destination (or about vacationing in general). No, this doesn’t mean you have to get rid of all your regular pump up jams and party anthems, but adding a few to the mix will really help immerse your guests in the theme.
