She worked with my budget and offered many amazing suggestions to helping find the right dress for me... she was not pushy and even suggested going back to a different salon to try on another dress again before making the big decision. Pure Magnolia uses as much ethically sourced organics materials possible which was a huge selling point for me as well as supporting a local business. Patty was an absolute dream to work with. I went in not entirely certain of what I wanted and ended up with a custom creation that blew my mind (and those of all our guests). The quality of the silk and lace was impeccable and the tailoring was perfection. She took the time over eight fittings to make sure the dress fit perfectly, even when I inconveniently lost a lot of weight right before the big day. She also cut and hand died the most perfect veil to match the champagne colour of my dress. On top of that, I really enjoyed spending time in the shop and it never felt like a chore to go for an hour long fitting. From start to finish, I felt so lucky that I made the decision to go with Pure Magnolia. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

When I decided that I wanted to wear my mom's wedding dress (from 1981), I knew it would need to be reworked. I had heard of Pure Magnolia's reputation for restyling vintage gowns and also loved their dresses and separates, so I set up an appointment. Patty was so sweet and helpful. I had no idea what I wanted done with the dress to update it, but I knew it needed changes. Patty pretty much immediately knew what to do, though she wasn't at all pushy. The price she quoted was very reasonable too! Even though Patty said she didn't have much experience with veils, she took in my mom's veil to try and iron it and get it back to white (it had dulled a bit)

Since I don't live in Vancouver (I was visiting my mom when I took in the gown), Patty sent me photos of the completed gown. She shipped it to me with a lovely garment bag to keep the gown in. The work she did to the gown was amazing. She completely got rid of all the pleats in the skirt, and the gown was as white as when my mom bought it 34 years ago. When I put on the dress, it looked absolutely fantastic. The veil looks great with it too. I can't wait to wear this dress at my wedding, all thanks to Patty's excellent work and her great customer service!

Patty Nayel is a true artist in design and her dresses are her masterpieces. When I was initially looking for my wedding dress, I went and tried on a number of dresses at a few different bridal shops. During that time I also went to Pure Magnolia and tried on a few of her designs as well. Throughout the process of trying on dresses at bridal shops, I found that I liked aspects of the dresses but not the whole design. Patty's Garden Dress that I previously tried on stood out in my mind and with the ability to customize her designs, I knew this was the best way for my to get the dress I truly wanted.

Through my first meeting with Patty, we were able to discuss the modifications that I wanted to make to the dress, having a lower back, adding a sweet heart neckline with ruching and raising the front of the dress to mid-calf to show off my coral shoes. The final design brought tears to my eyes when I got to try it on and knew it was more then I ever imagined it could have been. I knew I loved my dress but hearing from family and friends how much they loved the look confirmed everything I already knew. Without a doubt I would highly recommend brides to purchase their dress from Pure Magnolia.

I am so happy with my dress!! I was able to customize the finished materials - Penny suggested some gorgeous lace that turned out perfectly - and I was able to get my finishing touches (sash and hair piece) all in one place. The green/sustainable practices at Pure Magnolia have enormous value for me and given that my dress was one of a kind, the price is unbeatable. I also loved working directly with the designer, how posh is that!! Thanks Penny, I sorta wish I could do it all over again!

After spending time in many of the local bridal salons, Patty was a refreshing delight to work with! Easy going, fun, detail oriented and creative, not to mention passionate. With two months she completed my perfect dress, complete with a crochet work bodice reused from my moms gown all as a last min. change. I would highly recommend Patty and Pure Magnolia. Honestly, I wish I had skipped all of the other salons and gone straight to her.
