Beyond our Best Expectations!
If you are looking for a DJ for your event, stop searching and book Shawn Hurd now, before someone else gets him first.
We had one goal for our event: we wanted our guests to walk away saying, “That was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to.”
Shawn delivered that and then some.
We gave a list of five songs we really didn't want and shared some sample songs we have on our playlists, and he took it from there. He understood exactly what we were trying to create. We didn't want someone who would simply show up and play a playlist. We wanted someone who would read the room, understand the crowd, build the energy, and know exactly when to take it to another level.
Shawn absolutely nailed it.
Our dance floor was PACKED. Not for twenty minutes. Not for one great song. All night. All ages.
What impressed us most was his ability to bring every generation together. He took our musical tastes, the big club anthems, recognizable crowd favourites, and most importantly, the energy in the room and turned it into something incredible.
His ability to read a crowd is exceptional.
Shawn is prepared. He worked seamlessly with everyone around him and made the night feel completely effortless. We never had to think about what was happening next. We simply got to celebrate and have an epic night.

You need a dj, shawn is your guy!
We’ve known Shawn for over a year now, first doing our sister’s wedding, and then doing a friend’s wedding earlier this year. We had a great intro call and he had varying packages to fit our needs. He had a detailed spreadsheet that helped us in our planning journey and made sure we didn’t forget anything. We had our key songs chosen for special moments like walking down the aisle, first dances, etc. Then we made Spotify playlists for ceremony arrival, cocktail hour, dinner music, and dance party that Shawn carefully reviewed and integrated those vibes throughout the night. The lighting he brought also really added to the ambiance. You always want your party to be epic, and Shawn ensured the d-floor was packed from start to finish. Highly recommend!!

He read the room so well
Not going to lie it was hard to find a great DJ, they were all so pushy and their way or no way. I was so impressed after our first conversation we opted for a little video chat with my soon to be hubby. We chose to make him our MC as well which was a a blessing. He read the room, the music was on point, everyone was having a great time. It just the music aspect but, keeping us and the photographer in check to make sure dinner was on time among other things. My husband and I have had talked about our wedding constantly and how we would not have changed a single thing. We were honoured to have him at our wedding, I highly recommend especially if you enjoy, a truthful, energetic, and personable DJ for any of your events.
