Amazing cake and a pleasure to wok with!
The cake exceeded our expectations, both in taste and how pretty it looked. We received many praises from our guests. We went with the high tea and strawberry matcha flavours, both were delicious and not overly sweet.
Would definitely recommend Megan and Mooch!

Most delicious part of our wedding!
The only let down of our wedding : Not what we asked for even slightly
A couple of days before the wedding Megan wanted more money for a stand. I understand that her pricing had changed since 2020 but the last thing you need is another cost for something you’d already paid for.
A few weeks before the wedding she wanted to change the look from the requested succulents down the side to berries and flowers . We again said no and reminded her of our conversation. It was the third time I had to send her screen shots of our conversations / or payment to remind her of our vision . I figured it was just time that had past.
We decided not to pay her fee of another $100 for the stand as we already had paid $40 for a stand so we said we would use our own as she doesn’t really have rustic stands and I scrambled to do that.
The day of, the cake arrived and I asked the photographer to take a picture of our initials. She came back and told me that she couldn’t really make it out very well and that she didn’t really see the succulents either when I asked her how it looked.
This cake looked like I had done it myself. It looked nothing like her Instagram cakes. Or our many inspirational photos. It had TINY flowers around it and instead of a wood looking tied it was solid all white and it looked like a kid or one of the guests had quickly drawn a heart. You couldn’t see our initials. We didn’t even bother doing a fancy photo with it as a result . It was a $500 cake and we had nothing but a hassle for a cake that looked cheap and didn’t fit our theme.
I expressed my issue with the cake and kindly said that I felt our cake was an afterthought . I told her that what we paid for and what we got didn’t match. She only then gave back the money for the stand we didn’t use and she basically blamed us for the reason the cake wasn’t well done and said that it was a learning experience with regards to the initials not showing up.
She made no effort to even make anything better. She didn’t seem to underhand that we actually had a detail photo planned for this and had paid a premium for a good cake not just a random white cake with cheap flowers on it.
I would never recommend her and I was actually really a supporter of her based on her social media and photos.

I am the owner and creator of all things sweet with Mooch. After receiving my BA from UBC, I continued on to study the sweeter things in life at The Culinary Institute of America. With a background in fine dining, the standards of kitchen cleanliness and "doing things right" are in the forefront of my mind. My attention to detail and constant strive for perfection is what makes our creations a work of art.
My grandmother used to make stunning cakes for our family weddings, and it brings me so much joy to know that I am following in her footsteps. I love getting to know my clients because they become part of my "Mooch family". I am lucky to have found my passion and to be able to share it with all of you.
