In the year 1952, Robert and Signe McMichael purchased 10 acres of land in the village of Kleinburg and built a pioneer-style home they named Tapawingo. Additions were made to the original home in 1963, 1967, 1969, and 1972. Impressed by the natural beauty of the landscape, they began collecting artworks that can be seen today.

I cannot say enough good things about working with McMichael for our wedding. After cancelling our original venue, we received a recommendation from an acquaintance who got married here and said they were incredible to work with. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that they were beyond incredible, going above and beyond to make sure our ceremony could take place while remaining safe. A week before our ceremony, the restrictions changed and we were given a few options. As we did not want to reschedule, Angela and Danielle helped to move our ceremony outdoors. Danielle created a great seating chart and worked with us with a weeks notice to make our day perfect. Our ceremony went by so smoothly and went above and beyond our expectations. Our guests gave us such positive feedback about our venue and how kind Danielle was. Through the stress and uncertainty of planning a wedding with covid, choosing a venue with good caring people behind it is so important and I can definitely say this venue is that and more.Sent on 26/04/2021

My husband and I got married here on October 18, 2020, during the pandemic. Although times were tough due to the restrictions and social distancing, Angela and Danielle really pulled through.
Their responsiveness was on point, and any question I had (and I had hundreds) they answered quickly and politely. They never made me feel like I was bothersome or dumb.
The day turned out perfect! We had our wedding on the studio patio outside and it was just breathtaking. The colour-turned trees in the background made the photos so beautiful.
All of our guests were so happy and loved the space. The photographer and videographer loved the grounds as well.
I really can’t thank Angela and Danielle enough for their hard work, consistency, reliability, great communication, friendliness and amazing attitude all around.
You two are truly angels! ❤️Sent on 04/11/2020

Dream wedding in COVID times
I can't heap enough praise on McMichael. They made our dream wedding come true at a time when such a thing didn't seem possible.
We reached out to Angela and Danielle about holding our wedding at McMichael shortly after some COVID restrictions had been eased, namely the restrictions around social gatherings. At the time, we were told we could only have 10 people attend our wedding. Which was fine, because we wanted to keep it small anyway. We were also given a COVID discount, which really helped to plan a budget friendly wedding.
When the social gathering restriction was increased to 50 shortly before our wedding, Angela and Danielle were quick to let us know we could invite more people and worked diligently to make sure the additional guests would be taken care of and that everything would run smoothly.
We would have been lost without them. We did not hire a wedding planner, so my wife and I were doing all the planning ourselves. But Angela and Danielle handled almost everything related to our ceremony and reception. Even though our wedding was small, there was still a lot of preparation involved, and it was nice to have that taken off our plate so we could just focus on ourselves. They handled everything like true pros.
Even the catering was taken care of. We used their catering partner, The Food Dudes, who also provided phenomenal service. Renee, like Angela and Danielle, is a master coordinator. We didn't really have to think about anything except the menu and linens. Trust me when I say, get the beef sous vide.
Everything was perfect, from ceremony to reception. We planned a tour of the gallery for the end of our reception, which all the guests seemed to enjoy. There's so much to see; it will take you at least an hour to walk the gallery if you stop to admire some of the works.
If you have any doubts about getting married during these dubious times, we can't recommend McMichael enough. They will handle all the stressful parts of planning a wedding so you don't have to, and they will do so without completely draining your savings account. At a time when money is tight, that is so, so important.
Thank you for everything, Angela and Danielle! We can't wait to return to the gallery on our anniversary!

The best backdrop
The venue was beautiful. We were in the founders lounge. We had a small ceremony and his room was the perfect size. We got amazing photos outside. Only downfall for me was being told we had to leave the gallery even though we had been told by the event planner we could stay longer.Sent on 09/03/2020

June Wedding McMichael
We loved our experience at McMichael. We loved being on site all day to get ready. The Meeting House was a perfect space to accommodate this. Bridal Hill is set up well in advance leaving plenty of time to set up before the ceremony. The reception hall is beautiful and needs very little decor. Everyone was very willing to work with us and let us make our wedding our own without too much pressure to do things the conventional way.Sent on 01/08/2018
