We had the pleasure of working with Kathi Robertson for our wedding in October 2025 and we are both so glad we decided to hire her as our professional photographer.

Right from the first call, Kathi provided a reassuring vibe that carried through our entire experience leading up to and during the day of the wedding. She brings years of professional experience and an incredible versatility to her photography.

Kathi checked in with us every few weeks leading up to our wedding date to help us shape our needs and plans and making sure we would get the photos and coverage we envisioned. On the actual day of the wedding, we couldn't have been happier with the energy and approach she brought for us, our family, and our guests. She directed our portraits and group shots expertly, keeping everyone energized and working flawlessly with everyone from a distracted 4 year old to chatty aunts and uncles who were eager to hit the open bar.

Kathi made fantastic use of the space, finding light, settings and poses galore as she moved used from room to room and indoors to outdoors. She handled intimate portraits and a densely packed and low-lit pub with equal ease and managed to catch great images of every single one of our guests. Most importantly, she put us at ease and helped us pose for photos that we love and will share and look at for a lifetime. She even had a small sampling of photos in our inbox first thing the morning after the wedding -- an incredible surprise to wake up to.

She also did it all for one of the most competitive rates in town and (in our opinion) a cut above anyone else we considered.

Hiring Kathi was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, hands down.

Photography was my top priority in wedding planning, and she exceeded every expectation. From the very beginning, Kathi was incredibly helpful in building our timeline and offered thoughtful guidance. On the day itself, she kept everything on track with this calm, ninja-like presence that instantly put me at ease even when things didn’t go exactly according to plan. She knew exactly when to be assertive and when to blend into the background, not to mention the photos she delivered completely blew me away.

Before the day, Kathi hopped on a few calls with me to review the timeline and walk through some logistics. By the time she arrived at the venue on the day, it felt like I’d known her for years. We decided last minute to add Matthew as well as a second shooter, and wow what a dynamic duo they are! While Matthew captured my husband getting ready and venue details, Kathi came right upstairs to kickstart the magic.

I love her signature light-touch editing style. Looking back, I felt effortlessly beautiful, the photos feel like us, and not at all overly staged. Our only job was simply to be present on our wedding day, and she turned the little moments into art. Along with being an amazing photographer, she’s also a pro at fluffing poofy dresses, coordinating group photos, and keeping an eye on the sun throughout dinner to ensure we got the perfect golden hours shots.

I would recommend Kathi to anyone getting married and wanting awesome photos from someone who truly cares about your day.

I first met Kathi five years ago when I was a bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding.The photos from that day were breathtaking, leaving a lasting impression on both me and my now-husband, an amateur photographer. When it was our turn to get married, choosing to capture the moment was a no-brainer.

Kathi is a consummate professional. She is deeply talented, beyond experienced and truly the best in the business at timeless, documentary style photography. A truly amazing wedding photographer doesn’t just take great photos. They listen to you, get to know you and what your vision is, help you stay calm on your special day, and they’re your cheerleader. Kathi Robertson is all that and more. I first met Kathi at the Ottawa Wedding Show but she wasn’t available for the date that we had set. We booked another photographer, changed our date in order to get the venue we wanted. I wasn’t having a good feeling about the photographer we had booked and made a last minute decision to cancel with them. I was so happy to find out that Kathi was available for the new date we had switched too. Kathi stepped in about a month before our wedding when I was in a bit of a panic. She expertly guided us through the process and had me feeling at ease after our first meeting. Communication was easy. On our late October wedding day, it was so cold outside, but she cheered us on and kept us smiling. Now the photos - even better than I expected. I actually gasped at a few of them. We absolutely love the photos, and 100% recommend Kathi!

From the moment we saw her work online to the moment of our engagement shoot were amazed. Kathi inspired me with the look for my wedding. She suggested specific hair and makeup to match my dress, that turned out amazing. Kathi knows how to use the colours of the scenery around her to create amazing pictures. She knows Ottawa very well and can guide you to the spots to get the look you want. Without her leadership and vision the groups pictures would have taken hours, All my pictures are beautiful and she captured the loving smiles between us. I love that she guided us on how to stand or move to her the best results. Would use her again and recommend her to all my friends.

We hired Kathi as our photographer for our wedding this past August. She was easy to communicate with from Day 1 and very responsive. She had lots of great feedback and insight about how to schedule our day so that nothing would feel rushed, which was very helpful.

On our wedding day she was a dream to work with - everything felt natural and Kathi had so many great ideas! She posted a sneak peek on her social media shortly after the wedding and then the turnaround time for the final photos was very reasonable (even quicker than we expected!). We loved going through our photos together as there were so many great shots and Kathi captured the day so beautifully and effortlessly, not missing any special details. We shared many with our friends and family who were also very impressed with how many excellent photos we received and the quality of Kathi's work! Kathi even submitted some of our photos to be featured in a recent edition of the Ottawa Wedding Magazine, which was really fun to be a part of and is another amazing keepsake from our special day.

Overall we can't say enough wonderful things about Kathi and her work - we would highly recommend her for wedding photos and we are so glad that we chose her to photograph our special day.

Working with Kathi was a dream from beginning to end!
