How to Entertain Guests at Your Wedding (Besides Music!)

If you’re looking to wow your guests all night long (and provide some options for the non-dancing crowd), here are seven out-of-the-box ideas to keep the party going.

Bake Photography

Caricature Artist
Test your guests’ abilities to sit still by having them pose for a caricature artist! Not only will they get a laugh from seeing themselves transformed into cartoon characters, they’ll also leave your wedding with a priceless souvenir!

Event Painter
Feeling artsy? Hire an on-site event painter to capture your wedding on canvas! We love the idea of a cocktail hour or reception recreated into a painting, and guests can stop by to watch as the scene comes to life. Bonus: You’ll have a one-of-a-kind artwork to treasure forever.

On-site Cake Decorator
Ask your baker to leave some finishing touches to be done on the big day, such as adding hand-piping or floral details. Throughout the reception, your guests will be amazed as the cake is transformed into a masterpiece right before their eyes.

Same-day Edit Wedding Video
Some videographers offer the option of a same-day edit wedding video, which usually means a short, impromptu montage of footage from the day. Let your guests know to stick around for the big reveal at the end of the night. The sneak-peek clips will get them excited for the full video to come!

Do-It-Yourself Cocktails
You’ve probably heard of offering signature drinks, but take cocktail hour a step further and let guests create their own concoctions! Provide a few baseline ingredients (gin, vodka, etc.), along with a selection of juices, liqueurs and garnishes. It’s sure to get everyone mixing and mingling!

Petting Zoo
This option is perfect if you’re getting married in the countryside. Find out if your venue has any resident animals that can make an appearance during your cocktail hour or reception. If not, ask about hiring a company to bring in a few furry creatures. There are bound to be some priceless photo ops!

Fun Zone
If your wedding is more casual and you’re inviting children, consider creating a “fun zone” with games, snacks (popcorn, anyone?), and dress-up props for a photo booth. Hand out prizes decorated with your wedding logo, such as sunglasses and t-shirts. Encourage your adult guests to let loose and get in on the fun, too!
