I highly advise you NOT to hire Charlie or deal with his company.
We signed a contract and sent a deposit for our wedding. Due to a health issue, we needed to cancel. The contract stated that the deposit would be refunded minus $50. We left multiple voice mails and sent Charlie multiple emails and he kept dodging us. It was about 2 months before he finally agreed to honour the contract and send us back the money, however, he failed to do that by the date he said he would. Yet again he wouldn't contact us back on when he was going to send it. I finally sent him an email threatening to contact the BBB, the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, and legal action before we got our money back. It took 3-4 months after our initial request. I've never dealt with a worse business! We didn't even receive an apology when our money was finally sent back! Weddings are stressful and this type of stress was the last thing we needed to be dealing with!
Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere!

My now husband was in charge of DJ arrangements for our Grand Bend, ON wedding in June 2019 and made a great selection with Vanrock Sound. Our DJ, Charlie, took care of the music for the ceremony as well as our dinner and dance reception. He was flawless and professional in transitioning between locations. He provided cordless microphones and all his own equipment. Vanrock's online platform was easy to use, allowing us to pick our favourite songs and communicate our music preferences from a distance. On the big day, our dance floor far exceeded our expectations and credit goes to Charlie! He did an amazing job sticking to our preferred genres, mixing in our requests, and responding to who was on the dance floor and how they were reacting. We had all generations on the dance floor all night long! Thank you Charlier and Vanrock!

My husband and I had encountered Vanrock Sound on a few different occasions (a cousin's wedding, company parties and at the bridal show). We requested Charlie as we had run into him a few times. In our meeting with Charlie he was clearly very good at his job and gave us feedback on our choices as well as helped us to pick the music we were hoping to hear. We never felt rushed and were very excited. Unfortunately the site crashed a day before our wedding and all of our guests requests and our own details and timing were erased. In addition, Charlie's car broke down on the day of our wedding so I received a phone call around noon saying that he wasn't going to make it and that he was going to send Adam. At this point, I thought.. well here is our hiccup. Our information is lost and the person we have been in contact with is not able to make it. However, Adam was the first person there. I thought I was early (1.5hours before the wedding) but Adam was there setting up and getting a few details from me. He played everything ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY! I don't know how he pulled it off because I didn't have much time to go over absolutely everything with him. Our dance floor was PACKED! He read the guests so well and there was pictures I wanted with the wedding party but we just didn't want to break up the awesome dance party that was happening. My legs have never hurt so much and all the guests were so happy. He was so flexible about playing last minute requests- we were so impressed. We'd highly suggest this company as they rebounded from something I thought was going to be a disaster. Thanks again for helping us make our day even more perfect!

We decided to work with Charlie as our DJ and MC for our wedding. His style suited us perfectly – and our guests danced all night. We had a lot of compliments about there being ‘something for everyone’, and Charlie ensured everyone had a great time. He was a wonderful MC – charming, funny…and really was able to work with the mood of the crowd. Did I mention funny? I can’t imagine anyone else doing such a good job – and acting as MC is part of the package. Vanrock has an amazing website where you can choose all your music and plan out your day on their client portal. It was so easy to use, and helped keep things under control. We only needed to meet with Charlie once, which speaks to his level of professionalism and knowledge. Charlie was key to making our day perfect.

We were referred to Vanrock from a friend who told us to request Adam, as he was incredible at their wedding. We are so glad we did.

Though we had to pay an extra fee to get this London based company to come to our Toronto-area wedding, it was well worth it.

Adam was a complete professional- showing up plenty early for setup, and connecting with our MCs. He was very responsive to our music requests (both do and do-not play requests), and kept our dance floor rocking all night long. I definitely recommend Vanrock and will give the same advice we received- ask for Adam- he is the best!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.... they played the best music... had great game ideas... easy going... great price... would use them again 100 times over... couldnt have asked for better music!
