Bride & Groom Prioritized, Guests had issue

We found the DJ services very accommodating to us (bride & groom), however we had quite a few guest complaints. I guess the DJ waited to play our "must play list" until later in the night, so when guests felt ready to request music the DJ wouldn't accommodate them because it would be interrupting my playlist. I thought my must play list would go first in order to insure all songs got played, and also I selected that guest requests could trump our chosen songs - so I'm not sure why guests requests were turned down to begin with. But after speaking with the DJ and asking him to just play whatever would make our guests happy, he was able to accommodate their requests. Otherwise the DJ was very professional and kind. The audio was clear and kept at a good volume throughout dinner, speeches and dancing. As well, our ceremony music was PERFECT! We had a bit of a miscommunication at the start (completely my mistake) and was quickly resolved so that the right music was being played at the right time. Other than the guest request and those issues, Bob Hawkins DJ Services was excellent work with.

After reviewing your file and speaking with your DJ, we had been provided with a request list of over 5 hours in length which usually is our main focus for song selections at an event so we have the chance to play as many of the couple's request as possible. We do prioritize the playing of the songs in the must-play portion of any submitted list but also do our best to make sure they flow with the dancefloor.

I am sorry that your guests didn’t feel that the DJ was responding to their requests as he should but I am also glad it was able to be straightened out during the event and everyone had a great evening in the end as we are always open to adapting our services during an event to meet any requested changes.

The BEST DJ & Emcee there is!

We could not have hired a more perfect DJ for our wedding day! From day one, Robert was so attentive to our needs and inquiries. We were planning a Sunday Brunch style wedding, which is not traditional. Robert helped us plan out many elements of our day, even beyond the music selections! He carefully detailed our wants and wishes, and executed a flawless event. We had Robert also Emcee for us, and he did a fabulous job! Robert was attentive to every detail, was a calming and positive presence, and even brought me a glass of wine before we were announced into the reception! He really made us feel like royalty on our day. In my dad's wedding speech, he told a story about Barney. When his speech was over, Robert started playing the Barney theme song!! It was little touches just like that, all throughout our day that made it that much more special and memorable. Honestly, you could not hire a better DJ than BobHawkins! We would 100% recommend their services to anyone, and we look forward to working with them again in future!

Wonderful DJ

Our DJ from Bob Hawkins was great! The paperwork we filled in before the event was very thorough, so I was confident that our DJ would be prepared for the day. He was very helpful getting things back on track when our timeline got a bit off, and was accommodating of any small changes. The music played was a great mix, and our guests all had a great time. Thank you!

Great DJ and Very Responsive!

We really appreciated our experience with Bob Hawkins DJ service. They did an excellent job at our wedding and incorporated some fun events as part of the reception (a centrepiece giveaway) which had the guests in stitches! They were so well organized and prompt with their responses. Look no further if you are seeking a professional DJ that will deliver a fun event!

Played Songs we Requested

Did a good job not sure how much it cost as it was included with our venue. So can’t remark on value really. Person who did our wedding was good with playing songs we requested on our online form we filled out. Did a good job and would recommend for anyone’s wedding

Above and Beyond!

We recently got married on October 19 at the Cardinal Golf Club - Our DJ was absolutely amazing. He accommodated the schedule as things changed throughout the evening which made things so much easier on me and my Husband. Everyone loved the music that was played; He took the time to check in and ensure that we were enjoying everything. Would definitely recommend hiring this company for your wedding or next event!

Friendly & professional

We worked with the son who owns the company with his father. Super friendly and helpful, answered all of our questions and helped with my music choice anxiety haha We ended up with Phoenix as our DJ and he nailed it! He kept the dance floor alive all night and took all requests. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Professional DJ that had everyone on their feet

We are very particular about our music but Bob Hawkins DJs’s system really allowed us to tailor our playlist to our taste. We had some pretty indie requests for our Big Songs, which were all cued up perfectly, and we had both a long list of requests that were in their system, as well as those that were not. Most songs were recognizably from our list, and those that weren’t were specific requests from guests, which our DJ, Mike, was more than happy to accommodate.

Overall, I was a little apprehensive about how the night would go, since I’ve heard horror stories about rogue DJs who want to make the party their own, but I needn’t have worried so much. The majority of our guests were on the dance floor until the end of the night, which is a testament to how great the music was.
