    My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Katie, as our day of coordinator for our wedding. Katie was truly amazing to work with and made our wedding day run so smoothly! She was very responsive throughout the planning process and truly made everything so easy.

    No words for how happy we are

    Wow.. we are just so speechless with the level of professionalism and personalized care that Katie gave us during the planning process. From the start Katie was on our side, walking us through the daunting process of planning through COVID. Katie cares so much about making your day special. If you’re even reading this review you’re contemplating hiring a planner, and I will give you this advice: DO IT!!! It is worth the extra sleep you get at night, the lowered anxiety, and the enjoyment in the process. You need Katie in your life.

    Amazing & Wonderful!

    Katie was amazing to work with! I was hesitant hiring any wedding planning service, as I thought it was an unnecessary expense, but very happy I decided otherwise because I sure as hell needed all the help I got and more with Katie. After working with many wedding vendors, I feel vendors can be abrupt and impatient, but Katie was super pleasant and kind to work with. On the day of, Katie kept me cool and calm, amongst the chaos and hurdles that my wedding morning brought. She kindly reminded me what was truly important, and that was marrying Daniel. Katie helped execute the day wonderfully and smoothly and gave more than what Daniel and I expected. The wedding day wouldn’t have been possible without her!

    Katie was amazing

    I didn't really think I needed a "month of" planner but I am SO glad I got one. Katie helps organize everythingggg and is super friendly and responsive. We had a few performances on wedding day and everything was executed perfectly because Katie took care of it all. She also made surewe were on schedule the whole day - which trust me as the bride you do lose track of time. Would definitely definitely recommend!! Thank you Katie !!!

    Amazing - would highly recommend!

    Katie was an absolute gem to work with - I could not imagine putting on a wedding without her support. She was extremely organized and agile, allowing all the planning to fit in and around my schedule - I was out of the country for the entire planning process and only arrived back 6 weeks before the wedding! She took charge and direction with the venue and all the vendors, making the lead up to the wedding day stress-free and the day of the wedding just perfect. I had nothing to worry about the day of as Katie had a hold on every detail - from table set up to staying on top of reception of schedule. I would highly recommend Katie & the Event Design Co.     Friendly Tailored Service For a Unique DIY Wedding

    We had the pleasure of working with Katie Watkowski and The Event Design Co. for our wedding on May 4th, 2019. Our wedding was very much a DIY affair, but hiring Katie as our month of coordinator was definitely one of the best decisions we made! From the first conversation, she totally understood our vision for the day. My husband and I planned a cocktail style wedding with a late start (6pm) that was to take place all in one space which involved a room flip with our guests still present. When we expressed concerns about whether our plan was feasable she quickly put us at ease and said she was excited to start planning it. She provided her expert opinion on many things including how much alcohol to order, and whether we should bother hiring a car service. Her great advice helped us save time and money. Throughout the process Katie was an excellent communicator, and was very proactive in contacting all of our vendors and friends involved in the day. She also tailored the service she and her team provided to us based on our event style and needs. No task was too big or too small for Katie! On the day of the wedding she arrived at our apartment to help us transport some personal items, and I swear she was almost as excited as we were. She along with her asistant Emily, did an exceptional job excecuting the set up of our DIY decor, really capturing the fun, yet elegant aesthetic we were trying to achieve. Throughout the event they kept our tight schedule moving and were there to address any concerns or answer questions that we or our guests had. They worked well with our caterers and venue staff and were cheerful and proffessional. They also genuninely seemed to have fun which was important to us! The Event Design Co. team was crucial to the success of our big day. We truly believe that whether you are having a DIY event like ours, or a lavish black tie affair, they are going to make your wedding the best it can be!

    Best decision!

    We hired Katie for month-of-coordination services and it was the best decision we made. Katie was so lovely to deal with - she was responsive, professional and friendly. Our wedding was perfect and we owe a lot to Katie and her team and the execution of our dream day. I highly recommend Katie!

    We truly enjoyed our wedding day, thanks to Katie and Alysse!! From the smooth and responsive communication, to the flawless execution of a rather elaborate wedding, Katie and her team knew to manage vendors, guests, and family members (we all know what that means), while ensuring our vision came to life seamlessly. Better yet: I think it was just past midnight when I first realized what time it was. It was as she had promised: we were guests at our wedding! For the entire day and night of the wedding, Katie had managed to keep things moving in such an effortless way that we never had to wonder or worry about the time. Our wedding with no running water in the barn and everything to DIY or rent meant that Katie’s job was no small feat to start with; she excelled. I will mention a few personal highlights: my (picky French) mother still speaks about Katie’s “perfect job”; guests told me how impressed they were when, for example, Katie appeared out of nowhere to sweep a broken glass that had just broken; our ceremony started on time—you read that correctly. I could go on. We feel very grateful for her calm and professional demeanour, which still allowed for a sense of humour and most importantly, smart and independent decision-making with constant attention to detail.

    Book Katie and her team

    Katie provided us with Month-of-Coordination and Event Design. I have done event planning in the past and knew that I didn't want to deal with any of the coordination leading up to the day and, of course, the day-of. I also didn't want the responsibility of sourcing flowers and decor. Katie was a breeze to work with. She was always timely, welcomed my suggestions and provided suggestions I hadn't thought of. She was always professional and warm - my mom and MIL loved her too. From my angle, the entire wedding went smoothly, and I suspect it mostly had to do with Katie's coordination with our vendors as well as her commitment to knowing her couples and their schedule. I literally had zero stress leading up to and on our wedding day. If you are hesitating to book a coordinator, don't! Just book Katie and watch your worries melt away.

    Couldn't be happier

    Throughout the entire wedding process Katie was exceptional. She was professional, prepared and seemed like she could handle anything! She came with us for a visit to the venue beforehand where she had a ton of questions we never would have thought of. Her coordination of all the vendors and preparation of the day of schedule were flawless. She even handled a few last min curve balls from one of our vendors. Most importantly she made us feel calm and ready for the big day throughout the entire process! I don't know what we would have done without Katie and can't speak high enough of her services! 10/10

My love for event planning goes back as far as I can remember. From tea parties to golf tournaments, I loved taking the lead on anything that needed to be planned. While events were always a part of me, I wanted the theoretical training as well. After completing a post-grad Event Management program, I was hired as an event coordinator at a non-profit healthcare organization where I managed a large portfolio in Toronto. I then studied to receive my certification from the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada where I fell in love with weddings.

I believe that a wedding is a day celebrating love in all its entirety. Every beautiful, raw, tearful, nerve-wracking part of it. I want to be right by your side to make sure that this exciting time remains joyous and stress-free.

My personal style is rustic and natural, but my favourite part of wedding planning is getting to create each couple’s unique vision.
