My honest experience - Month of coordination
Despite it being a month-of package, I felt I received no real month-of support and barely any day-of support. From after payment was received, communication was poor. She was generally unresponsive to my attempts to connect, sometimes taking two weeks and multiple emails for a response. I had to continually follow up and practically beg to schedule a phone call.
Over the entire month leading up to the wedding, we only spoke twice by phone. Many of the duties outlined in the contract were either not completed or handled minimally, including vendor coordination, which was one of the main reasons I hired her.
I only learned during the week of my wedding that she does not attend the bride’s house the morning of the wedding, something that should have been clearly communicated in advance. That morning is one of the most hectic and important parts of the day, with vendors coming and going for hair, makeup, photos, and catering. Having no coordinator present caused unnecessary stress and disorganization.
At the ceremony, her lack of involvement continued. The venue coordinator mentioned that she was not helpful, and several of my bridesmaids said the same. In contrast, the venue coordinator stepped up and handled everything, from helping me bustle my dress, to bringing food and drinks, to coordinating photos and vendors. When I asked her whether my hired coordinator had been any help, she said honestly, “no.”
To make matters worse, the coordinator left the venue without informing anyone; not me, not my bridal party, not my parents. She simply disappeared without saying a word, and I have still not heard from her since.
Overall, this was the worst money I spent during the entire wedding process, and not aligned with the information she provided during our consultation call. I did not receive the professionalism, communication, or support that was promised. I later learned that other companies offer three day-of coordinators (who actually come to the bride’s house) for nearly half the cost of what I paid, and with lots of additional support.
The best decision I made for our wedding so far !
