Wonderful Wedding Photographer!
My partner and I hired Ebony to photograph our December wedding in January 2020. We met for coffee, discussed our vision for the day and reviewed previous galleries. We found Ebony to be warm, engaging, and genuinely excited about our event. As an LGBTQIA2S+ couple, it was very important to us to work with an affirming vendor. Ebony is wonderful and welcomes all couples.
We then booked our engagement session for February, and we had a great experience getting to know one another. Ebony is a dog person, and was able to get our suspicious pup to warm up to her very quickly! After the session we communicated about how it felt being in front of the camera and any changes in how we wanted to interact on the wedding day.
Throughout the rest of 2020 leading up to December, our wedding plans changed in number of guests, location, and finally date several times. Ebony was compassionate, helpful and flexible through all of our changing plans. She was a very positive influence in a challenging year for wedding planning!
On our wedding day, we thoroughly enjoyed working with Ebony and her second shooter Steph of Steph and Kati Photography! They helped both of us to calm our nerves, and made taking our wedding photos such a fun experience. They both worked seamlessly with our celebrant Barbara Densmore to capture our ceremony beautifully. Having now received our gallery in under a month during holiday season, we can say that our photos are stunning and they truly capture the love and joy of our wedding day. We happily and enthusiastically recommend Ebony and Red Cedar Photography and we hope to work together again to celebrate future life events!Sent on 04/01/2021

Ebony expertly blended herself into the day...she found shots and opportunities without causing us time or stress and added a very friendly presence to the whole event.
Ours was particularly tough as she couldn’t use flash in the venue, to which she responded with excitement and nailed it.
We had many guests comment on how well she blended in and were curious to see the shots she was getting, which were beautiful, plentiful and a perfect array of candid and set up, guests and atmosphere.
Thank you Ebony and Red Cedar!

Could not have asked for more
Ebony was so easy and professional.to work with. She entertained all my ideas of my dream shots as I dragged her and her second shooter down forest trails and mountain sides. My photos were smore magical than I dreamed.Sent on 02/01/2019

Nice to meet you! Art is a passion for everyone in my family. I’m a wedding photographer with a passion for environmental portraiture. Being a connection photographer means I create scenarios that allow couples to connect on a deeper level. It’s the reason my work is often described as emotive. My love of environmental portraiture gives your gallery variety. I love capturing the scenery around you and you will find a lot of nature and greenery in my work.
It’s such a joy to be a wedding photographer. I get to work with people who are madly in love. They have experienced struggles and share their joys. Like me, they believe in the power of unconditional love. I will laugh with you and cry with you during your session or wedding! My clients are wonderful people and I am so grateful to be a part of their love stories. Sometimes, I get to photograph their engagement, wedding, and then the first addition to their families!
One of my biggest joys is mentoring for Clickin Moms. I love being part of an online community for photographers to create, share, and learn. I’ve taken to many workshops and breakouts with Click Photo School and I have met so many lifelong friends on the forums! Helping other photographers, being a teaching assistant and creating my own breakout has been a wonderful adventure as a Mentor.
I currently live in a tiny home on the ocean in Sooke, BC, Canada. I’ve lived in Nanaimo, Vancouver, Vernon, Kelowna, and Victoria. Traveling is one of my favourite luxuries. I’ve traveled through Europe and almost all of Central America. Cooper is my partner in crime. He is a big Bernese Mountain Dog x Black Lab who likes to go mountain biking and hiking with me. When I‘m not photographing weddings, I run a non-profit and coach basketball. I love volunteering in my community. I’m also an elected councillor for the District of Sooke. Being directly involved in the day-to-day changes of a small and fast-growing community is an honor and a bit of a thrill at times!
Feel free to use this contact page to connect – ask me anything! I’m an open book.
