Hi, I’m Katelyn, the photographer behind Katelyn Potter Photography!

I’m an Edmonton-area wedding and elopement photographer specializing in warm, romantic, true-to-life imagery with a documentary feel. My approach is all about capturing your wedding day as it actually felt: the big moments, the quiet ones, the happy tears, the ridiculous laughs, and all the little in-between moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

I know being in front of a camera can feel awkward, so you definitely don’t need to show up knowing how to pose. I’ll guide you when you need it, give you prompts that create natural movement and connection, and step back when the moment is already unfolding perfectly on its own. I’m also passionate about creating an inclusive experience and helping couples of every shape and size feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely good in their photos.

With 100+ weddings photographed, I bring more than a camera to your day. I help with timelines, lighting, family photo organization, location planning, vendor recommendations, and all those little logistical details that help everything run smoothly. I also work with a trusted team of experienced second photographers and have backup plans in place because your wedding photography is one part of the day you shouldn’t have to worry about.

I’m based just north of Edmonton and photograph weddings throughout Alberta, with travel available throughout Canada, including my home turf of Vancouver Island.
