The perfect wedding weekend!!
We were married on March 12, 2022 at A Bear & Bison Inn in Canmore. From visiting the venue in December 2021 to checking out of the Inn after the wedding, Lonny, Eugenie and Genevieve made it as seamless as possible. We had a short engagement, and many people thought we were crazy for planning everything so quickly, but Lonny and his team made it all so easy! Everyone was absolutely wonderful and helpful to plan our weekend with. We basically showed up with a few boxes of decorations, they took it all and made it into the most incredible weekend and day for us and our families. The food was absolutely incredible, and given that the bride is celiac, it was a whole gluten free weekend - and no one could even tell!! Everyone made comments afterwards that they couldn’t believe it was gluten free! Covid made for many last minute changes, but the B&B team were able to roll with all the changes and make the wedding day complete perfection for us. We cannot thank Lonny, Eugenie, Genevieve, and all of the Inn staff enough for all that they did for us! We can’t wait to come back for anniversaries to come!!A Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn's reply:
Shannon and Bryan!
Thank you for all these kind words and for sharing your experience with us!
So glad you enjoyed all these things, it was a real pleasure to work for/with you. :)
Thank you for trusting us with your most important day!
Hope to see you again.

Best Wedding Venue!!
My husband and I got married at A Bear and Bison Inn on January 26, 2022. It was literally the best day ever! Lonny and Eugenie we so easy and accommodating throughout the entire process. We'd email with questions and we'd get a response almost always the same day! We weren't able to get to the Inn before the wedding as we're from Saskatchewan, so we had a Facetime call with Eugenie and she gave us a tour and answered all our questions! Their itinerary planning leaves no room for error, everything is planned and executed perfectly. They know what needs to be done and when and they make it happen :) They also make great suggestions if you need a little guidance.
The Inn itself is picture perfect with beautiful mountain views and the rooms were clean, quaint and comfy as heck! It was our home away from home for 3 nights. The breakfasts were unbelievable, tasty and elegant! And the reception meal (tapas style) was so good. Our guests still rave about the food!! The service we received from all the staff was exceptional! Super friendly. They seemed to have just as much fun as we did, some even joined us on the dancefloor which was super cool. We loved the little coffee/hot chocolate and cookie bar before the ceremony.
Checking out was a breeze! Lonny had a simple spreadsheet breaking down all the costs so we knew exactly what we were paying for!
I can't say enough good things about A Bear and Bison Inn. They are great at what they do - trust the experts! They truly made our dream day come to lite.A Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn's reply:
Such an amazing group!
We are so happy how your photo's turned out as well!
Congratulations on such a great event!
Lonny and team!!

The Most Magical Place on Earth
My husband Curtis and I got married at the Bear and Bison Inn on 12.22.21. It was the most magical experience! We chose the Fire and Ice Soiree for our elopement package. It was the best decision we could have made! We drove up to this charming inn and just sat in our car and looked at it for a while. It's GORGEOUS. Coming inside we felt the same way! It was decorated top to bottom for the holidays. The couches had blankets and pillows for snuggling and relaxing. The views were gorgeous! AND THEIR TREE!
We were greeted by Eugenie as soon as we walked in and she had proven herself to be the kindest, funniest, smartest person. She took care of EVERYTHING for us. She even brought a hot glue gun from home so we could fix up a funny "Groom" pin we bought that broke. Lonny met with us next to go over our menu. This is the nicest, warmest man you'll ever meet. He was funny, charming, so kind, and helped us plan a beautiful 7 course dinner to impress our family after our wedding.
The complimentary breakfasts were amazing. A MA ZING.
The wedding itself was extraordinary. Lonny and Eugenie had everything handled. I turn around and my flowers arrived, the hair and makeup artist came in with enough time to do my mother in law and sister in law (even though it wasn't in the schedule), the photographer was so talented and amazing, the food was probably the best thing we've ever had, the music for walking down the aisle and the first dance and the first look were taken care of. Every detail I couldn't have thought of - Eugenie and Lonny were there, making sure it was perfect.
We missed our Hot Cocoa Bar because we were late for the ceremony after photos, and for dessert the staff brought out the hot cocoa for us!
The Jacuzzi with the Soapworks Soap and Spa products were a delight! We lounged in there watching Big Bang Theory every night.
There was one night where we had the Inn all to ourselves. We snuck into the hot tub outside with our champagne and looked out into the Christmas lights and the mountains and watched the sunset.
We are so glad we got married here. This is where we will be returning for our anniversaries for years to come. As long as Lonny and Eugenie will have us. :)
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating the most magical place on earth.

A truly remarkable experience
My partner and I just got married here with the Grand Soiree Package and it was unreal to say the least. We arrived and every detail was taken care of. It really allowed us to enjoy our time together without stress. Every morning we got a delicious 3- course breakfast and spent most of our days checking out Canmore and relaxing in the amazing hot tub. The wedding was beautiful and we are so grateful for everyone that contributed to it. It was a magical day and everything was perfect. AND then the dinner was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The chef even made us a donut cake!!! All of which adhered to our dietary needs. I felt super relaxed the whole time and would recommend this to everyone. We will be back.-

Exactly what we were hoping it would be
Lovely, intimate, warm and comforting place for our wedding. The staff (Eugenie, in particular) was so helpful and assuring and made the day even more joyful. The food was just excellent and the details and little extras made it so memorable.A Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn's reply:

AMAZING experience with our microwedding - cannot recommend them enough!
Eugenie and Chef Lonny were the absolute best - top notch food, lodging and customer service!
We were looking for a turnkey wedding package including accommodation, photographer, flowers and commissioner - and the Bear Essentials package delivered that and so much more. This review covers the experience with the Bear and Bison Inn, and the photographer, flowers, and commissioner will be reviewed separately.
Food: Chef Lonny's breakfasts are not to be missed. The pancakes are the best pancakes I've had and I frequent brunch places in every city I've travelled to. The granola is second to none - crunchy and flavourful - it brought joy to my morning for sure! After our first breakfast experience, I actually said "I can't wait for tomorrow's breakfast." The charcuterie board we had between the ceremony and reception dinner was absolutely delicious!
Location/lodging: Located outside of downtown Canmore, the 10-room inn provided a quaint setting for our microwedding (6 guests, plus bride and groom). Our room had almost 300 sq ft of space - perfect as a bridal suite the day of, a place for our parents to chill as we got photos done, and a lovely place to gather after the dinner wrapped up. The room featured a king sized bed, a private patio and an in-room jacuzzi. The bed was very comfortable, the private patio a phenomenal place to have breakfast, and the jacuzzi was lovely to use in having a bubble bath the morning of the wedding. There were thoughtful touches - like fudge as a welcome gift, as well as the tasting bottle of prosecco to welcome us back as a married couple - that absolutely made the stay more memorable. The way the log gazebo was decorated was super pretty and made such a cute backdrop to our wedding and they took care of the set up and take down, making it such a stress-free experience.
Customer Service: From the moment I called, to the initial back and forths to the day of, Eugenie was always on the ball and anticipated what we needed. She is an experienced wedding coordinator and an absolute gem to work with! Between her and Lonny, they covered our every need, were absolutely honest about expectations, and super personable. They provided us with a phenomenal wedding experience we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
If you're a couple considering this inn for an elopement / microwedding in the mountains - look no further. Stop looking and book one of their packages. We cannot thank A Bear and Bison Inn enough, and we will definitely be back in the future for a getaway!-

Outstanding Service and Venue for our COVID wedding
We booked A Bear and Bison Inn in June 2020 for our November 28th, 2020 wedding. We did not visit the property in advance but booked based on very many reviews - they did not disappoint.
We rented the entire inn for the weekend and with the evolving COVID restrictions so close to our wedding day, we were happy we did so at least we knew everyone staying at the Inn. We couldn’t have a welcome dinner on the Friday or a formal reception following our wedding because of restrictions but we ended up serving the same menu’s we had chosen to each room for our guests. The food was AMAZING and it was a very unique twist during such a crazy time.
The gazebo was gorgeous for our ceremony and we were able to have our first dance in the gazebo when it was all lit up.
Breakfast every day was different and very yummy!
The service from Lonny and Megan from the initial booking up to our wedding weekend was outstanding. Any stress we had with new restrictions being implemented was eased as soon as we checked in with the Inn. They truly went above and beyond and even though our weekend didn’t turn out exactly how we had planned it - we could not be happier.

The most beautiful wedding venue
We recently had our wedding at A Bear and Bison Inn and it was everything I wanted and more! The venue is GORGEOUS and the food and service was so amazing. Megan was so incredibly helpful in ensuring our special day went off with no hiccups. Both Megan and Lonny were so great about responding to all of my questions during the planning process. I would highly recommend them not only for staying at the inn, but planning any special events! -

Perfect in every way!!
We can not say enough good things about our experience at A Bear & Bison Inn!! We knew we wanted to go with an elopement package because we didn't want the stress of planning a huge wedding, and our day ended up being completely stress-free. All of the vendors Lonny used for the day (Michael for photos, Sam for hair, Marilyn as the officient, our gorgeous flowers) were lovely and it was honestly a joy meeting them all. The gazebo used for the ceremony was decorated beautifully for our day, and Lonny and Megan really went above and beyond to make our day feel intimate and special, just as we wanted! The 3 course breakfasts were different every day and beyond delicious (the groom is still dreaming of those eggs). The wedding cake and prosecco and locally made soaps were all awesome little additions that just added to the magic. The location benefits from the obviously stunning mountains surrounding, but the grounds of the Inn are SO SO CUTE and well-maintained. There are spacious and cozy seating areas inside for guests to mingle and enjoy the views. The whole place feels like this warm little cabin nestled between mountains..but you're still 5 minutes from a Starbucks- best of both worlds! We were truly blown away by the hospitality, kindness, service, warmth and professionalism of Lonny, Megan, all the other staff at the Inn, all the vendors and really..every single person we met in Canmore! Our wedding day was more perfect than we could've hoped and we totally left it all in the Inn's hands. If you want a stress-free wedding day in the most beautiful place in the world..seriously, look no further. I cried when it was time for us to leave and I'm already counting down the days until we can return for our anniversary. -

Silver Service Menu - Chef Notes
A Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn
Silver Service Menu - Chef Notes
The idea behind the Silver Service menu series came from the frequently made comment, “We would rather avoid the traditional seated dinner, as our group enjoys a casual mingling experience, but really does like good food”.
Our arrangements below, provide the best flexibility for larger groups. We aim to provide the highest quality in service with only the finest local ingredients, used wherever possible. Casual seating will be provided for about 40% of the number of guests. Usually, we find this is plenty as some people will sit and chat for a bit, then get up to go to the bar for a drink and on way become involved in a new conversation across the room. We will continue to offer everyone food, whether they are in the room on a deck or in the garden. Our servers come around the room with trays of appetizers and mains during the service period, and a night of social mingling and dining relaxes everyone.
Service ~ is designed to be easy flowing. There, when you need it but not intrusive. Food service will begin promptly at your specified time, and takes about 2 – 2.5 hours, depending on how the evening progresses. Although designed to feel casual for your guests these are fully serviced dinners. We include the correct number of servers to ensure that dinner service is exceptional.
Seating and Table configurations ~ change based on your number of guests. We find that your numbers will change right up until check in, and usually the numbers drop from your initial guest list, often by as much as 15%. Please remember for this menu, we do require a final confirmation of numbers by 3 p.m. the day before! What we have found best with this menu, as far as seating goes is to aim for 35-45% seating.
Minimum numbers ~ 20 adults with a full Inn rental. The minimum numbers are in place to ensure the Inn’s cost of putting on this high service style of dinner service is met. If you would like to have this dinner and you are below the minimum number, we would require a supplemental charge of ½ the price of the missing number of guests required to bring the total to 20. Please note that dinner is only offered to groups that rent the entire Inn.
Maximum number ~ 60-65 adults can be served with this menu. Children age 11 and below are counted separately. Please see below for children’s options.
Upgrades are available ~ designed to take these menus to another level while still maintaining great value. Upgrades vary dependent upon what you have in mind. If there is something you do not see on the menu, just let us know and we’ll be sure to work something out for you!
Choice is available ~ This menu series is all about choice. The real benefit is that you can order what you want, and still give everyone lots of choice.
For example, if you have a guest(s) who are allergic to seafood you can still pick 2 or 3 items of seafood leaving them with 15 other choices. Considerations will be made, at no cost to you, for diet requirements for example, no red meat or vegetarians. Our goal is to provide as many items for each diet requirement through subtle changes to the menu items. If you picked the steak sandwich and had someone who did not eat red meat, then we would do them a grilled garlic bread sandwich (hot) with grilled marinated bell peppers, caramelized onions and brie cheese or something along those lines. Most importantly, you can interchange individual items with other silver service menus. Please ask if you have specific questions.
*V* symbolizes options that are suitable for Vegetarians and/or Vegans (most times) with minor changes made to the individual’s dish. Please ensure that we know ahead of time who and how many Vegetarians or vegans you have in your group and if they bend the rules (i.e. the vegetarian who eats fish) as this will help us out greatly when it comes to serving them the best possible alternatives.
Options for Children ~ Children (ages 2 – 11*) are always hard to figure out especially when they are not your own! We have 2 good options:
- Eat off the adult menu for half the price of the adult menu
- We can do a kid’s party for $15.75 per child and include the following items, veggie platter, fruit platter, cheese pizza, and an ice cream treat.
When your numbers are approaching 60 and you have a bunch of kids, we suggest taking the kids party option and locating it in either the library or Room #7 or #8. The children in a separate party can be counted on top of our maximum number, so in theory you could have 60 adults, and 8 kids (as long as they eat separately).
*12 years and older are billed as adults, unless you wanted them to eat from the kid’s party then the price would vary based on age.Chef’s note ~ our waiters and waitresses will serve a seemingly endless amount of food. It will be taken to all corners of the building and garden. With so many choices listed in these menu’s, there’s sure to be something for everyone. Our kitchen will be making everything fresh a la minute. Some of the options may be a little more risqué…. But, again, with so many choices, we ensure everyone has plenty to enjoy. The chef’s point of view on this, is that with so many choices, we can move away from the more traditionally safe menu items into something a little more diverse and exciting.
Bon Appetite!
