I had a wonderful experience with Mountain Beauties for hair and makeup on my wedding day. Their pricing was transparent from the start, and communication with both the coordinator and individual service providers was easy and efficient. The makeup looked natural and held up beautifully throughout the day, even softening in a flattering way as the hours passed. All of my bridesmaids were happy with their makeup as well, despite most of us not being regular makeup wearers. Our hair stayed in place all day, even with some time spent outdoors in wind and rain. Nikki (hair) and Leny (makeup) were both punctual and coordinated seamlessly to ensure everyone was ready on time, which made the morning smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Mountain Beauties for anyone looking for professional, reliable, and talented hair and makeup services for a wedding.

I was disappointed with my experience working with Joanne, the owner, who did my hair for my wedding. From the moment she arrived, her negative energy and attitude set the tone in the room. She changed my schedule last minute without consulting me or my planner because she had another booking, made me feel like I wasn’t a priority (despite booking over a year in advance), and rushed through what should have been a meaningful and enjoyable part of the day. Her comments and demeanor genuinely ruined my getting-ready experience. Thankfully, the rest of the team was excellent. I strongly encourage brides to consider other vendors for their wedding.

I suggest anyone looking for hair and makeup services think twice. Messages below are from the owner who went on the attack as I was just asking for a confirmation for my services. Since I was ignored for a week and decided to cancel my services the owner seems a little too sensitive and thought it was her place to tell me who l am and what l'm all about. This "predatory bride" is very thankful to have followed her instincts.

Joanne was extremely skilled and professional! She made sure each person in our group felt beautiful with their hairstyle for the wedding! She was also very organized and kept us on schedule. All of our hair lasted all day and night even after being outside and dancing. Cecilia did a beautiful job on the bridal makeup as well!

My hair trial with Joanna went great - I chose a complex style, and she was very detailed, requested a lot of feedback, and did a great job - I was very excited to have the perfect wedding hair.

The day of my wedding, Joanna showed up twenty minute late, and in a horrible mood. As we’re sitting getting ready for multiple hours in my rented room, the conversation was very much dominated by Joanna and her many gripes about the world. I certainly didn’t need the day to focus on me, but every single person in my bridal party - including my mother and mother in law - commented that she dominated the room with her negativity.

For my wedding day I opted for something much more simple than the trial and had two photos for inspo. One (the back) was my own hair that I had done recently, and another was as very specific style I wanted for my front down-pieces. Initially she was happy about having more time to spare given the easier style (we were a bit strapped for time with a late add-on), but when shown the photos, Joanne immediately pointed out that the photos were different, and I had to defend that it was inspo for the front on one and the back on another. When I was given the chance to take a look at my hair half way through, I pointed out one very specific area where I wanted more volume and was met with “that’s not possible” despite me having done it on myself very recently. After telling her I wanted more volume in that one spot, I didn’t get the chance to see the hair until it was done, but *wow* she went to town. When I saw it, I was mortified - the lowkey hairstyle I had shown her was nowhere to be seen - instead of a top flip pony with some top volume, I had a tight ringlet poof wider than my head. Instead of a simple 1-2 flat ringlet curl in front, I had tight ringlets.

She was obviously angry when I told her the back pieces needed to be brushed out (she had likely added additional volume on top to account for a veil), but I felt like an early 2000’s high school grad. After brushing it there was no additional time to fix it to the way I wanted, so I just wore my veil most of the day. Was my hair horrible? Not at all - my hair overall looked nice, however, I was disappointed that specifics I was looking for were glossed over, especially given how well the trial went.

Despite condescendingly telling me multiple times throughout the week that she was a professional, she showed up late, was MIA for scheduled phone calls prior to the wedding, lacked self-awareness of the black cloud she brought, and completely lacked attention to the details I was trying to point out.

Was it the last minute addition that ruined her professionalism? I’ll never know, but I doubt it, given I have come across people with the same comments about the dominating negativity she brings to wedding mornings.

The makeup was great.

(Side note, the two women she brought with her were absolutely LOVELY and I would 1000% recommend them separately)

Mountain Beauties was ok to work with. I struggled to get in touch with them before my wedding day which led to me not getting exactly what I wanted for my hair but it was still beautiful! My girls and the two moms loved their hair and makeup! Joanne was able to work with the girls who had too high expectations for their hair and Cecilia did a fantastic job with our makeup!

Once booked, the customer service close to our wedding was terrible for our booking and I had to initiate any contact about whether they would be coming on my big day. After reading other negative reviews, after paying my deposit, I was very nervous if they actually show as I didn't hear from them. Day of event, the hairstyle quality was excellent and make-up was good but one was personable, I am unclear if the other wanted to be there. Considering it's a very special day, that you pay a lot of money for, and book a year out - more communication about the booking (3 months, 1 month, or a week prior to) would have been great. Never heard from their new booker for an invoice amendment but be sure I got charged. If you are a super nervous bride, find a vendor who communicates better. Day of services made up for lack of booking communication.

Andrea did such a beautiful job on makeup for my best friend’s wedding! She adapted a photo I found to suit me and made lots of suggestions, was super efficient and did her best to accommodate everyone’s requests within the allotted time. She is very skilled and does amazing work and she is also very funny! I would totally recommend. Thanks so much, Andrea!

I was a bridesmaid this month and the bride hired mountain beauties. Such a wonderful experience! Joanne and team did such a great job everyone looked amazing throughout the whole day and night. They were friendly, in and out quickly and helped make the bride feel at ease. I would definitely call them up if I was getting married.

MB did my hair and make up for my wedding. Not only did I feel flawless my wedding party did as well. (6pl in total) Joanne and her staff made a point to take note of my ideas and likes and worked with me to create the exact look I was dreaming of. Joanne also did a fabulous job of organizing the day, she took charge when needed and ensured that I was the focus of the day and that everything kept moving and was done on time. I have never felt so pampered and important. Joanne also helped me trouble shoot some last minute hiccups that cropped up on the day of and I appreciate her expertise and experience as it helped to smooth things out quickly, so I could get back to enjoying my day. I am so great full for the hard work put into my day. This was worth every Penny and I would choose MB over and over again. Thanks ladies you are truly artists and masters of your trade.
