Great team, epic photos
We could not have asked for a better team to work with! Shirleen even gave us a rain date to work with because we wanted to make sure we could capture the mountains. She recommended resources to help me prepare for poses, hair and makeup, locations and came to pick us up from the hotel. They were very patient, set us up with lots of direction and wouldn't rest until the scene was what we wanted.Sent on 26/11/2018
Not only are Shirleen and Kaylee so much fun but they made the best of some really bad weather. Our photos turned out epic, better than we could have anticipated. Thanks again guys!
Burnett Photography's reply:Kim and Patrick, Thank you for this review. Kaitlyn and I had a great time meeting you both. It was pure magic when those big flakes of snow began to fall up on Mt. Norquay. So lovely! I'm glad we could capture such a special moment. Stay in touch and let know news of the wee one!

Shirleen, Troy and Kaitlin were amazing at our Canmore wedding! They were all so supportive and willing to do whatever it took to capture the prefect shots. Our guests loved their energy and fun nature! Communicating with them was a breeze and Shirleen was so helpful in making suggestions for additional vendors.Sent on 24/08/2018
Burnett Photography's reply:Shonna and Jesse, Your wedding was a blast. I've never seen so many great dancers on the dance floor! Thanks for being so easy going and fun to work with. The smoke was crazy that day but it added a lot of mystery and drama to your wedding pictures. Best of everything to you both.

Worth every penny!
My husband and I hired Burnett photography for our wedding day last weekend, July 8, and let me tell you hiring them is probably one of those wedding expenses that is definitely worth every penny. They made our day EXTRA special just for being who they are. They are so much fun to work with and the product you get is just BREATHTAKING! We posted one of the pictures she sent us the day after our first shoot and until this day we are still getting compliments from it! We can't wait to see the rest! Special shout out to Shirleen. My husband and I have never been to Banff before and Shirleen guided me throughout the whole planning process and gave me so many recommendations. I can't thank her enough for going above and beyond. We definitely gained new friends!Sent on 16/07/2018

I wanted my proposal to be great, something we both wouldn’t forget and I could share with our kids later on. I had never been to Banff, let alone Canada, so I was really nervous of things not going the way I wanted, but there was Shirleen to the rescue!! She was very helpful helping me chose a great place and was very accommodating to our requests. I cannot imagine a better proposal experience that the one we had with Shirleen and Kaitlyn!! Thank you sooo much guys.Sent on 05/06/2017

My husband and I were planning a vow renewal in the mountains at Chateau Lake Louise, and hired Burnett photography to take pictures of our event. From beginning to end, Shirleen Burnett and her assistants went above and beyond.
I started out by shopping around and contacting several photographers. Shirleen was first to respond and answered all of my questions swiftly and cheerfully. She was willing to travel into the mountains, came with top notch cameras and lighting equipment, arrived on time, had a wealth of creative ideas, and made every moment count. She was incredibly passionate about capturing fantastic shots. Our ceremony was in December and it was quite cold. Shirleen and her assistant, Kaitlyn, braved the cold like it was nothing. They were completely undeterred by any challenging conditions (ice, snow, cold) and we were rewarded with truly unique and stunning photos. Both ladies were fabulously warm, friendly, energetic, and engaged not only with us, but also with all of our friends and family in attendance.
I could not recommend Burnett Photography any more highly. Feel free to check out our shots (attached) and I think you’ll see why!

Burnett Photography's reply:Amanda & Chris, Thank you for this incredible review! Your vow renewal was so powerful, there wasn't a dry eye in the house (including Kaitlyn's and my own). It was an honor to capture it all. I wish you a life of pure love and joy. You have inspired me to renew my own vows with Troy.

Appreciating the beauty of life, being happy, relaxed, a bit irreverent and endlessly optimistic, is a big part of who I am and expressing that in my work fuels me as a photographer.
Being a photographer is not a "job" to me. It's my passion.
Photography fascinates me in every way. I have a totally nerdy side that loves all the technical details: the cameras, lighting equipment, software and computer programs. I eat it up! It's the tools of my poetry.
I specialize in creating dramatic portraits in beautiful natural environments. I adore the thrill of lighting, posing and coaching just about anyone to feel glamorous and sexy on their wedding day.
If I were the wealthiest woman in the world, I would still be a wedding photographer. I love it that much.
I'm really proud of the team Burnett Photography has become. We have so much fun with our wedding couples, I think you would be crazy not to hire us!
I came into photography through my wife, Shirleen, who initially wanted someone to schlep around her heavy equipment!
That was 7 years ago. Today being a photographer is second nature to me. I enjoy it as much as Shirleen.
I specialize in capturing candid portraits of people. I love telephoto lenses because they allow me to catch spontaneous moments, often without my subjects knowing. I love these unscripted "gems".
My "full time" job is as a professor of geography at Mount Royal University but I find I spend more time working with Shirleen & Kaitlyn than otherwise.
It's all good because I love both challenges, and allows me to digress into geological information about the formation of the Canadian Rockies with our couples during our portrait sessions. But don't worry. I won't test you at the end.
I'm a native Albertan from the Edmonton area who graduated from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in 2017. I joined Burnett Photography after doing a 2-week internship with Troy and Shirleen. I was drawn to the company because of their unique husband and wife dynamic.
Moving to the mountains was a dream come true for me. The wild beauty and purity of the natural landscape literally gives me goosebumps. I love to share that feeling with our brides and grooms.
I specialize in nighttime photography and creative portraiture and enjoy working with lights in this majestic mountain environment.
