About Marvelle Events
Located in Caledon, Ontario, Marvelle Events is a company that specializes in providing beautiful and timeless decorations for weddings and other special events. This team has always adored, collected and restored antiques, vintage finds & shabby chic treasures. While being exposed to so many amazing events & assisting their clients to find these unique items, it became a natural transition to put their existing inventory into work & start expanding. In 2012, Marvelle Events was born.
Owners, Dan & Laura Forbes have been a team for 15 years. In that time, they have a combined 30 years' experience in the event industry. They began with their sister company, Sounds Of Distinction Entertainment, back in 2001. This was a natural beginning since they both are so outgoing & passionate about music. In 2007, Laura became a certified wedding planner & they launched Marvelle Events and this year they are currently celebrating their 10 year anniversary!
The company's inventory is comprised of more than 1500 items, along with a full collection of Harvest Tables and custom bars. Specializing in unique, rustic, and vintage decoration items, the company provides items such as tables, chairs, furniture, frames, mirrors, windows, doors, bars, collections, centerpieces, table numbers, mason jars, typewriters, picnic sets, sporting goods, serving ware, and much more. Items such as tents, portable washrooms, linens, dishware, glassware, draping, etc., are also provided.
They have recently moved into the greater Orangeville Area near Caledon Ontario, not far from the Historic Villages of Alton, The Cataract & Belfountain. They service Caledon, Dufferin County, Toronto, the GTA, Niagara, Muskoka's, Guelph, Kitchener/Waterloo, Central & Southern Ontario. They will travel to further regions by request and based on availability. However, they do not work out of province.

Amazing month-of coordination service!
After booking some rentals with Marvelle Events, we decided to hire Laura as our Month-of Wedding Coordinator. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Laura was absolutely fantastic to work with. She seamlessly took over the planning a month before our date. She liaised with vendors and ensured that all the last minute details were attended to. She made the last days and weeks leading up to the date manageable for a DIY bride. She was professional, courteous, and kind from beginning to end.Sent on 15/05/2019
On the day of our wedding, Laura pulled everything together beautifully. She used her creative style and eye to make the venue look gorgeous. Her calm demeanour kept me incredibly calm and stress-free throughout the entire process (especially the day of!) because I knew she had everything under control and would be able to deal with anything that came up.
We had so many comments from our close family and friends about how great Laura was and we couldn't agree more. I would recommend Marvelle Events coordination service (and rentals!) to anyone getting married in the GTA!

We worked with Marvelle for planning and decor. Laura at Marvelle was wonderful to work with - so calm, organized and efficient. She saved us some sleepless nights. On the decor side, Laura took our inspiration and turned it into the most beautiful wedding we've ever been a part of - truly magical. Total disappointment - Money wasted
So disappointed in the service I've received and overall experience I've had with this company. I trusted Laura and Dan with one of the most important days of our lives and they're not willing to take responsibility for their mistakes and miscommunications. Less than three weeks before our wedding day, Marvelle presented us with a less than acceptable item that was meant to be a 'custom build', but the specifications were not to our standards. They keep telling us the specifications were never clear, but last time I checked, the vendor is supposed to confirm specifications BEFORE the start building something and guide you through the process as the expert, not the other way around. Why didn't they ask for the specifications and if we had in fact agreed on them, why weren't they documented/shared or included in the contract? My theory is that they took advantage of us to fund a build that was custom to THEIR specifications knowing that we talked about specifications only over the phone, nothing documented. Then they told us that instead of a custom build, they would keep the item and rent it out to make even more money on it. Sounds super legit....Sent on 22/07/2019
When we expressed our concerns, we were met with a lot of push back and refusal to take our concerns seriously.
Marvelle claims they tried to fix it, but what they're not sharing is that they require even MORE money from us to 'fix it', beyond what we originally agreed to in the contract. Would you blame us for cancelling our contract with them?! We'd be crazy to give them anymore money than we already have - they're already refusing to refund the money we already paid them. In addition, we don't want them having anything to do with our wedding after the stress they've already put us through. I'm so upset even writing this.
And the kicker? We scrambled to find another vendor 2 weeks prior to our big day who will be delivering the custom build that Marvelle deemed 'impossible' to make, to our exact specifications, for less money, AND we own it. So we wont have to watch Marvelle rent out the piece that we paid to have made. Lesson learned. The other vendor has been provided outstanding service though, sending updates and progress photos and actually listening to our feedback/concerns. If you're interested, we're working with Kyle from The Goodwood & Co - you'll be seeing our custom build posted on their Facebook page in a few days.
My advice to other readers: Save yourself the stress and find someone else to work with for your wedding day. There are tons of other vendors who do the same thing and won't cause the headache.
Advice to Marvelle: Re-evaluate your customer service practices. You've completely lost our trust, respect, and business for good.

Marvelle Events was an absolute pleasure to book for our wedding on Sept 10, 2016. We planned for our wedding at Archeo in Toronto all the way from Calgary and felt entirely confident in Laura throughout the whole process. I am admittedly a bit of an organization freak, so I had a lot of details and specifics that I provided to her. When we arrived at our wedding venue for the ceremony, the space looked 1000 times better than I could have ever hoped. Marvelle Events listened to what we wanted and then went above and beyond our expectations. The rental items we ordered were beautiful and were set out thoughtfully and artistically. We could not have been happier with how Marvelle's items transformed our venue space.
