Following our wedding, I certainly do NOT recommend Something New. Brides beware!!! I gave Danielle the benefit of the doubt countless times but the experience was really disappointing and after attempting to reconcile for over a year via texts and emails Danielle has refused to get back to me regarding our very serious concerns related to misrepresentation and theft. Almost every vendor was upset with the coordination (lack thereof), our ceremony music was not played, we paid lots of money for flowers and all arrangements that were completely incorrect (we were charged an absurd amount of money for roses when we only wanted baby’s breath - during planning I have written communication with Danielle who recommended our floral order add roses and I started clearly that’s not to look we want… on the wedding day my bridal bouquet and all florals arrived with giant white roses which we strictly did not authorize any spending on, yet since we already paid her for services, apparel nothing could be done?), our guests were not given any direction on where to go at ceremony or reception, day of coordination services were such a stress on the bride and groom. Mother of the bride had to step in and take care of the countless issues and miscommunications between every single person that Danielle was responsible for coordinating with. We also had our wedding favours shipped to Danielle in advance as agreed upon. They were not there on the wedding day and when asked she said she never got them. Yet, I have photo proof from the shipper that they were accepted AND received. This was a large expense that Danielle either lost and lied to cover it up or perhaps used for another wedding. Additionally, the groom and I were up until midnight the night before the wedding emailing our OFFICIANT since reached out wanting details because he had none regarding the ceremony the next day. Danielle never even reached out to him to share what kind of ceremony we had wanted or timing etc. Danielle had clear written instructions on what to share with all vendors and agreed in writing to share all details (as also outlined in our service agreement). The officiant was planning to perform a religious ceremony which is not at all what we requested?! I worked for over a year ahead of the wedding back and forth with Danielle on a ‘wedding planning’ document and it was a complete waste because nothing was the way we both agreed upon (in writing) and was outlined in that document. I sent Danielle many texts and emails putting serious concerns and demanded a full financial breakdown of all fees to address our concerns related to breach of contract, failure to perform, and theft. She has responded twice with “I will get back to you soon” and never has provided anything we asked for: no breakdown of fees paid, no explanation for charges we explicitly prohibited, no explanation of the missing details. We have never received an account of what we paid for - Danielle has refused to provide a breakdown of her ‘hours worked’ or provide any of the vendor bills. Not only was our experience with Danielle unprofessional, uncoordinated, and disappointing - she has ignored various attempts to rectify serious concerns directly for approximately 1.5 years now…since Danielle requires payment upfront we paid her THOUSANDS of dollars according to our signed service agreement - meanwhile she did not fulfil her agreed upon responsibilities or description of services. This is a legally binding contractual agreement and yet, Danielle has shown zero effort to adhere to her professional or legal obligations. Background: We’re got married September 22nd 2024 we hired Something New over a year before the wedding. We had a small outdoor ceremony at tunnel mountain followed by a traditional reception with ~20 guests at the fenlands.

On the day of, everything went exactly as we had hoped. Danielle and her team were on time, professional, and kept the flow of the day stress-free. Communication throughout the process was clear and timely, which gave us a lot of confidence leading up to the big day.

We hired Danielle and her team for Day of Wedding Coordination for our wedding at the Fairmont in Banff. She was super helpful leading up to the day by assisting with decoration rentals for the wedding and ensuring we hadn't missed anything in our planning process. For both the day of and the rehearsal, Danielle and her team were super helpful with all the small details that can only come from wedding planning experience. She offered advice on our ceremony procession, ensured everyone knew where they needed to be and when, and took care of all the decorating according to our instructions. Having her and her team there allowed us to enjoy the day and feel confident that everything was following the plan.

Danielle made for a seamless and stress free day! We couldn’t have had the perfect wedding day without her!

We had an incredible experience working with Danielle on our winter wedding in December 2024 at Emerald Lake Lodge. She went above and beyond on so many details, from our rehearsal dinner to the wedding night, and her package was reasonably priced. Our only regret is not hiring her as our full wedding planner from the start!

The set up of our wedding was done very well, everything looked great. They even moved some items between our ceremony and reception sites.

The coordination on the other hand left something to be desired. We had a meeting with Danielle a few weeks prior to our wedding where we went over a very detailed document containing all the information they would need for the wedding. During the meeting she was great. We all asked and answered questions and felt that everything was solidified for the wedding. Danielle also helped us run through our rehearsal which was very helpful. However she strongly recommended that we change several things from what we had planned. I found it stressful to make this many last minute changes as someone who was an anxious bride and felt that we had a solid plan. Then
Danielle told us that someone else would be with us on our actual wedding day.

On the wedding day Erika arrived at the bridal suite in the middle of us trying to take our getting ready photos and had several questions/concerns about the music and the speakers. This was not the time nor the place to be having this conversation. These issues could have been addressed weeks in advance at our meeting as they knew what our plan was for these items in advance and could have suggested alternatives at that time if they had concerns. I found it very stressful to be figuring this out last minute. This also put us behind on our timeline and ran into our photography time.

HOWEVER, Danielle saved our whole reception by letting borrow a speaker when we had audio issues with our rented ones. Without that speaker we would not have been able to have a dance, and made booking with them well worth it. I would recommend renting speakers from them instead of Mountain Event Rentals to save yourself alot of problems!

Danielle & team are fantastic!!!! I honestly don't know what we would have done without them. If I could give 10 stars, I would! They greeted all the vendors, setup our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception and after party. Their decor skills are incredible; they made us the most breathtaking flower petal aisle. Danielle ensured everyone knew what to do and explained everything at the ceremony rehearsal which was so helpful! On the day of, there was zero guessing, Danielle queued us and told us exactly what to do when. Thanks to this team we were able to focus on our big day & our guests because this fabulous team was so on top of things. 100% hire this team for your wedding, it will be the best thing you do.

Danielle and team are so fantastic to work with! We hired Danielle to be our day-of coordinator for our wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. She did that plus so much more for us! I was very impressed with the value of service Danielle offered even in advance of the wedding. We were having an out of province wedding and she was willing to drive to Lake Louise to meet with us at our venue, no cost and provided very helpful feedback and came back to Lake Louise for the rehearsal the night before. She also offered multiple calls to discuss set-up options and traded emails on quite a few topics leading-up to the wedding including obtaining our rental quote.

The set-up of our wedding was absolutely stunning! Danielle and team did an impeccable job brining all the decor items together and had excellent judgement in changing floral set-up for the ceremony (consulted with me on the change) and head-table set-up which both looked much better than my original plan. Her experience with weddings is very evident and I really appreciate her pragmatic, assertive approach when needed. She is well established in the wedding industry in Alberta and knew our other vendors well (DJ, Venue, Photographer). Her recommendations helped us assemble a wedding dream team and we couldn't be happier with the end product.

Danielle was great to work with as we planned our elopement in Canmore. We started planning our wedding with Danielle about a year in advance. She was easy to talk to and was able to answer any questions we had. The process of planning was simple and quick as we had many options for each part of the day example restaurants, make up and hair, photography, and locations.
The day of the wedding was everything we wanted and more. Everything went according to our planned itinerary, we loved everything about our day Danielle being there on the day was amazing and put us both at ease. My bouquet was beautiful, our photos are beautiful and everything we wanted. It felt like we were living in a fairytale. Our dinner at the Iron Goat was delicious and definitely recommend them for food!!
Lastly our stay at the Malcolm hotel was lovely and couldn’t beat the beautiful views of the mountains from our room.

My husband and I were recommended to Danielle at Something New because of the splendid work she did for our friend’s wedding! Since day one, Danielle took care to let us know all the options available, and even in her expertise, recommended ways to work around our wedding planning since my husband and I are based in different countries. Because we were pretty specific about what we wanted our wedding to look like, we sent Danielle our photo inspiration and mood boards. On our wedding day itself, we were astounded by the dedication and the care that Danielle took to bring our vision to fruition. We got so many compliments about how our wedding looked -- from the decor to the bridal bouquet. Furthermore, since Danielle had her hand in each little detail, we did not have to worry on our actual day and could really enjoy our wedding.
