I'm Joel Urbanavicius, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Cambridge, Ontario. What I care about most is the part of the day that happens once you forget the camera is there: the quiet look between you in the middle of the noise, the laugh nobody posed for. I'll guide you when you need it and stay out of the way when you don't, and I build each shoot around the light and the place so the photos feel like the day actually felt, not like a row of poses.

What I offer

I build every wedding around you and your day, not around a fixed tier. A second photographer comes with me on the wedding day, so the moments that only happen once get caught from more than one angle. I shoot 35mm film alongside digital, because film holds a feeling that screens tend to lose, and you keep the prints and the negatives. I'm a believer in prints in general: your photos shouldn't live only on a screen. That's why every couple gets a matted print made from their engagement session, a gift, ready to display at the wedding, and why I offer a full print service to get the rest onto your walls and into your hands, where you'll actually see them. The engagement session is part of how I work too, it's the easiest way for us to get comfortable with each other so the camera already feels normal by the day it counts. And a selfie booth runs through the reception, sending your guests candid photos straight to their phones.
