Specializing in a documentary style of coverage, Evan McMaster is a wedding photographer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He captures the day as it unfolds and freezes both small and large moments with the help of his camera. He believes that photography is a powerful medium by which a single memory is captured and can lead to a chain of memories and respective emotions. He derives great pleasure in stepping forward and arresting all the special moments, from beginning to end. Photojournalistic and portraiture style images are also captured by him.

Experience

Evan's journey in the world of photography began when he was given a Pentax Spotmatic by his father. Although he couldn’t understand the textbook definition of photography, he kept on exploring and loved every bit of it. He was initially fascinated by architecture and landscape work. However, when asked to document a friend’s wedding, he agreed and has since never looked back.

Services offered

Evan provides unlimited coverage for events so that he can click every aspect of the wedding. Clients are provided with copyright to all the images. Couples are also provided with a complimentary photo session before the wedding which helps them to get comfortable in front of the camera. A wide range of options are included in his wedding photography package. He is also open to create packages for smaller weddings. He covers one event per day and also offers the following services:

How he works

Images are shot digitally in RAW format. They are then edited and converted to JPEG files. Evan stores a second set of images on disk for archiving and gets permission of clients for promotional use of select images. Evan also likes to shoot images in film and uses ranges from 6x7 and 645 medium format to 35mm black and white. He saves all the edited images in both colour and black and white format; he also saves them in both high and low resolutions.

Other services

Photo booth services are provided by the business where guests can click unlimited pictures. Open sessions are offered for family, newborn, commercial, and engagement photography where there is no time limit. A package is also provided for these sessions.
