Mike was easy to talk to and professional. His team was fantastic all the guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything tasted. Mike made sure everything went smoothly and was so accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better culinary experience on our special day! Thumbs up all around!

Michael, the head chef for Bow Valley Gourmet was very informative and responsive to my emails. I really appreciated that he was always willing to answer my questions and work with us to get everything we wanted for our food experience. The food at our wedding was amazing and the presentation was also beautiful, we had a buffet with chicken and prime rib mains. We also has appetizers that were delicious and looked beautiful. We received many compliments regarding the food from our guests. We definitely recommend Bow Valley Gourmet for your catering needs!

My wife and I recently chose Michael and his team at Bow Valley Gourmet to cater our big day.

Michael was extremely professional in the many conversations and trial meal we had leading up to the wedding. He was a pleasure to deal with and we felt extremely comfortable with him as our caterer in the days leading up to our wedding.

Bow Valley Gourmet did not disappoint, Michael flawlessly delivered a stunning 4 course meal at our wedding. Each dish was beautifully created, plated and served to our guests pleasure. The serving sizes were perfect as well.

If anyone is ever looking for a great meal with fantastic service at their wedding in Alberta I would strongly recommend Michael and his team at Bow Valley Gourmet!

Bow Valley Gourmet catered our wedding in October of 2017. Initial meetings with Chef/Owner Michael were positive and we were left with a sense of comfort regarding the meal service at our wedding. At the food tasting we were able to try the main courses but not the cocktail hour appetizers. Overall we were impressed with the tasting / presentation of the food and although the portion sizes were small, Michael assured us there would be significantly more food on the plate at the actual wedding service.

I cannot emphasize how disappointed we were when the food service at the wedding started. It was our mistake in not pursuing to taste the appetizers we had chosen and when they started to come out, each appetizer portion was so small (bordering on petty) that we were left embarrassed in front of our guests. Needless to say we crossed our fingers and hoped the dinner service would make up for it.

The soup and salad course of the main meal service met all the expectations we had after the tasting with Michael, however the main course did not. Tenderloin was chosen by over 80 percent of our guests and Michael did not follow through on his promise to increase the portion size from the initial tasting. I would say there was no more then 10% additional steak on the plate when compared to the tasting. We again left feeling embarrassed which is not a feeling you want on your wedding day.

Lastly, after initial meetings and correspondences with Michael gave us a positive feelings as he worked around our budget, was always willing to help where needed, and showed a general positive attitude. The big day was again a different story, I will cut him some slack as he and his staff seemed very stressed, but the way he treated us and in particular the bride was utterly disrespectful. Interactions with Michael on the wedding day couldn't have been more 180 degrees from the initial meetings.

For these reasons I can not recommend Bow Valley Gourmet / Michael to cater your wedding.

Our Wedding was catered by Bow Valley Gourmet and we could not of asked for anything better.
It started with emails and timely replies from him. The Menus he offered were all within our budget and we could sense his professionalism.
The tasting we had was excellent and the food on the Wedding day was perfectly executed! Chef Michael floated around the room observing his staff. We had many guests compliment us on the food!

Bow Valley Gourmet catered our wedding reception of about 100 guests at the Canmore Miner’s Union Hall. First of all, the food was truly excellent. But the other great thing about Bow Valley Gourmet is that Michael is so lovely to work with. He is professional, an excellent chef, and has a real calming presence that makes you feel completely at ease. Once we met Michael and had the tasting of our wedding menu a couple months before the big day, we had complete confidence that everything would be perfect (food-wise), which it was.

With Bow Valley Gourmet, we were able to choose appetizers, a dinner menu, and a late-night snack that were custom for our wedding. All the courses were delicious. We had many compliments from our guest, both during the reception and for several days afterwards. Michael also took the time to check in with us (and other tables) during the reception to make sure we were enjoying everything, which we certainly were.

Overall, we could not have been happier with Bow Valley Gourmet – both the amazing food and how great Michael is to work with.

Michael and his team did an amazing job! The food was amazing and a huge hit at the wedding (probably one of the highlights). So many people commented on how good the food was and were so impressed! Most people even went for seconds.
Michael was great to deal with and so easy going and accommodating. And the cost was very reasonable!
We hired a bartender through Bow Valley Gourmet, and she was great. All his staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The buffet was great quality and quick...tables hardly had to wait. The fact that our venue was pretty remote didn't effect the quality of the food one bit.
I would absolutely recommend Bow Valley Gourmet to anyone needing a caterer!! I have nothing but great things to say about Bow Valley Gourmet!
The only thing I am disappointed about is that Michael doesn't have a restaurant that I can go to on a regular basis to enjoy his gourmet food at a price I can afford.
No exaggeration, Bow Valley Gourmet is AMAZING and was the best vendor I hired for our wedding.

Our Wedding event was small but formal and we also had a budget. We looked around Canmore area and were shocked to find such restictions and hidden fees with most Catering companies.
When we first contacted Bow Valley Gourmet, our reply time was a matter of hours! We sent him our guidelines and what we were looking for, Chef/Owner Michael Anderson created 4 seperate menus for us. He is a former Fine dining Chef that could be the best Chef in the area!
We selected our menu and enjoyed our Tasting, which is included for free. The staff was professional and attentive, but the food is what all our guests were commenting about.
We were blown away by Chef Michael Anderson and his food! He comes highly recommended and now we know why.
