Tastebuds Caribbean BBQ is a wedding catering service in Edmonton, Alberta that believes its couples always come first. Owner Stephen Sabula founded the business in October 2018 when he decided to honour his Jamaican roots and celebrate his passion for cooking and love for barbecue. He has since begun selling his products in markets and bottling his popular sauces and dressings.
Services Offered
At Tastebuds Caribbean BBQ, no shortcuts are taken, and everything is made fresh and with love. Its team specializes in both intimate gatherings and larger events and makes sure that the 200th piece of chicken tastes just as good as the first. As for the wedding reception plans, they work with their clientele from the initial consultation until the big day to ensure every aspect is cared for. Stephen believes in creating authentic flavours that liven the tastebuds and put smiles on faces at mealtime on the wedding day.

They were; professional and courteous through the process from our initial inquiry to the wedding day; punctual, budget friendly; top notch service; the brisket and chicken was exceptional, flavourful and guests went up for thirds. All of the wedding guests loved the food and how friendly everyone was.
I would recommend Tastebuds for any special occasion big or small!

Leading up to the event, they were responsive, helped plan our wedding menu including vegetarian options and were transparent about pricing. An important detail for us, was that food had to be prepared offsite.
On the day of, they absolutely exceeded expectations. The full service was amazing, staff were so kind and professional. They were super flexible and quick thinking. And they left venue prep space spotless.
The food was absolutely amazing, my Jamaican family was obsessed with the jerk chicken, the jerk tofu was a nice alternative and mac and cheese, salad, zucchini and brisket were all amazing. And the portion sizes were huge, we had lots of left overs for guests staying with us. My guests are still talking about the food months later!

Stephen Sabula, owner of Tastebuds Caribbean BBQ, founded his business in October 2018 after leaving an 11-year career as an industrial electrician to focus on being a present father and following his passion for cooking.
Growing up with Jamaican roots and a love for barbecue, Stephen believes in creating food that "livens the tastebuds". His business offers authentic Texas style BBQ and Caribbean flavors through homemade dry rubs and sauces. They offer hearty portions for events, parties, corporate meetings and more.
