Meet the team
Hey there!
My name's Lenore and I am the owner and lead cake designer here at LenJo Bakes.
My journey into cake decorating is a bit of a wild one! I started pursuing a degree in mathematics and business knowing that I wanted to go to pastry school afterwards. I thought I'd have to work a "corporate" job in order to pursue my passion - because real jobs are important, right?
Well! That's until I figured out that without passion, life just seem to be all that colourful! I finished my degree (not a quitter) and went to George Brown College in Toronto which lead me to living, working, and going to pastry school in France and leading me to work and travel around the world! A Michelin-starred restaurant outside of London, a stunning winery on Waiheke Island in New Zealand - the world was my oyster and I was going to eat my way through it!
Once in New Zealand, I thought I'd give LenJo Bakes a go as a pop-up shop and it worked! I moved back to the Great White North in October 2018 and opened the doors to LenJo Bakes in February 2020.
Since then we've enduring a global pandemic, opened a cafe location in St. Jacobs, and was a judge on the premiere season of Wall of Bakers on the Food Network!
We got into this business because we are truly passionate about good food made with great ingredients and using refined old school methods. We are 100% Team (Swiss Meringue) Buttercream and wouldn't ever dare to make a cake using a mix.
