Our Story
Every great love story begins somewhere, and for Matt and Amy Jakubaitis, theirs led to the creation of Storehouse 408.
When they were planning their own wedding, they dreamed of a space that felt authentic... something warm and personal, yet effortlessly stylish. At the time, most wedding venues were banquet halls and hotel ballrooms, and finding a place that reflected their personalities just wasn’t easy. They imagined a venue where couples could truly make the space their own, where celebrations felt genuine, beautiful, and unforgettable.
That dream never left them.
For nearly eight years, they searched for the perfect building... one with a story to tell and potential to be transformed into something extraordinary. It needed to be accessible, have both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, onsite parking, and of course, that elusive sense of character.
Their search ended when they stumbled upon an old Beer Store in Cambridge; a building said to be the oldest still-standing Beer Store in Ontario until 2017. It wasn’t glamorous, but it had good bones and a spark of possibility.
With 4,000 square feet of open space, a big backyard ready to be reborn, and a location just five minutes from Highway 401, Matt and Amy knew they had found it: the blank canvas they’d been dreaming of.
In 2017, they purchased the building, rolled up their sleeves, and began a full transformation. Over two years, the once-forgotten structure became a bright, open, and inviting space filled with natural light, warmth, and heart. And on May 9th, 2019, their own wedding anniversary, they hosted the very first event at Storehouse 408.
Since that day, the space has welcomed countless couples and families, each adding their own chapter to its story.

Tucked away in the charming village of Hespeler in Cambridge, Ontario, Storehouse 408 is surrounded by hotels, cozy restaurants, and local coffee shops... the perfect setting for a weekend celebration.

Would we go back in time and change our venue?
There was a few times during our meetings that the coordinator made me feel uncomfortable by making a few remarks of oh that’s an expensive option or they’re an expensive vendor. I totally understand that we are younger couple, but making those comments made me feel extremely uncomfortable when we were paying for the most expensive package and there was never an issue with payment…
There were a few things that I requested during the day of that weren’t completed. For example, the umbrellas after the ceremony weren’t set up, but that really wasn’t a big deal.
My main issue with this vendor was the night of our wedding around 10pm One of the employees mentioned. We had to have everything out that night,
And we wouldn’t be able to keep it inside the building until the next morning that they would put everything belong to us and the vendors we hired items outside and we could pick it up the next . When we were told in the initial meeting and other meetings that we had access to the venue until 10 AM the next morning, when everything would have to be removed at that point. I understand that there was another event happening the next morning, but we did pay to have the venue until 10 AM the next day.
Besides these hiccups, we really enjoyed this venue, but I think if we had our time back, we would’ve looked at other options.
Our magical day
The food was amazing, and the venue itself offered the perfect blend of laid-back charm and elegant class. So many of our guests commented on how unique and beautiful the space was—it created the perfect vibe for our celebration.
I would recommend Storehouse408 to absolutely anyone planning a wedding or event. Thank you again to the entire team—you made our day unforgettable. I’ll be reminiscing about it forever and endlessly looking back at our photos with full hearts!
