About
The Un-Wedding Movement is a wedding planning & design company located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that specializes in planning, design & coordination of intimate weddings and elopements for non-traditional nearlyweds.
We are experience-minded wedding planners and designers for intentional couples looking to do away with the big, traditional wedding. We empower our couples to throw out the wedding rulebook, shrink their guest lists and instead create an experience for their guests that focuses on them and what matters. Period.
We are out to challenge the social norms and trends around weddings, especially the notion that says you have to do or have something because that’s the way it’s done. Together, we believe we can create a new normal around weddings that celebrate the couple and focus on their love story.

Meet the team

Hi there! I’m Corina, Founder of YPF Weddings & Co. and the visionary behind the Un-Wedding Movement. It’s so nice to meet you and I’m thrilled that you’re here.
Just in case you can’t tell, I’m definitely NOT your average wedding planner. I’m a fearless, bold, colour-loving, multi-passionate creative b*tch meets that friend that’s got your back and is not afraid to tell you the truth. Planning amazing experiences is my superpower, and I love the impact that I get to make in the lives of my clients.
I have a passion for planning weddings that are fun, uniquely personal, and at least a little unorthodox.
I currently live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with my husband, Jonathan (better known as Dear). When I’m not planning weddings, I love to cook and bake, play video & board games, crochet, and do yoga. I’m a confessed Starbucks addict and history nerd. I’ve got a permanent travel bug, and my passport and suitcase are always on standby, ready to find an adventure at a moment’s notice.
AND YES, I KNOW MY STUFF…
- Dually Certified by the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada for both local and destination weddings (WPICC, DWC)
- LGBTQ+ Inclusive Certification through Equally Wed (CIP)
- Specialized Training in Hindu/Muslim & Sikh Weddings through Desi Bride Dreams
- Featured in National Publications, Blogs & Podcasts
- Previous clients include Fort Edmonton Park, Kids with Cancer Society & Ice Castles
- 10+ years of project management and customer service experience

Hello, I’m Sydney. I would describe myself as half snooty-gentry-type-in-designer-clothes-perusing-art-at-a-prestigious-wood-panelled-art-museum and half-bridge troll in the woods. Half freak, half geek. I’m into pretty much everything and am happiest when having conversations with people about their passions.
When not obsessing over progressive, collaborative business practices or how to create complete immersion in an event, I like to hide in my cave (a.k.a. basement apartment) with books, art, music, and my cat Berlioz.
After a decade working in the summer camp world – reinforced with stints in education, tourism, retail, food service, disability advocacy, community organizing, and film & television – I realized I loved creating joyful experiences and setting the stage for some pretty epic memory building. I was certified as a wedding planner by the Wedding Planner’s Institute of Canada in 2016. I finally found Corina as my mentor in 2019 and, in 2021, became a partner in YPF. She’s the Picard to my Riker, and there’s no looking back.
I’m anti-racism, anti-ableism, pro-land-back, pro-weed, pro-gay, pro-choice, pro-trans, pro-fat, and pro-hoe. In the words of Bob Dylan, “Either be groovy or leave, man.”
