Stephanie was so much more than a Day-of-Coordinator. We’ll go through how Sweetheart Events killed it from beginning to end.

First, we reached out to every preferred Planner from our Venue’s list and Sweetheart Events was the most earnest to engage. Their website emphasized planning not just the wedding, but also a marriage, so we were already getting the feeling that they put a lot of care into every couple. We had a magical first meeting with Kay, then we blindsided her with a change of wedding date. Stephanie, Sweetheart Event’s founder, jumped in to help us. Following them on Instagram, we quickly learned how much every Sweetheart Events planner loves and supports each other.

We were off and flying with their incredible planning sheet and booked every vendor within a month. Every meeting with Stephanie ran over an hour because we had so many questions. She never once made us feel like a burden, made us feel bad about asking questions before she was fully onboarded, or seemed overwhelmed by our documentation (there were a lot of lists and files). We had our 2nd meeting together in Vancouver where she gave us the best advice on how to talk to staff during the tasting and most importantly to enjoy this once in a lifetime moment and record our feelings before and after. We still watch those videos back.

When Stephanie fully onboarded two months before the wedding, things finally got hard. She handled all of the challenging conversations so that we could focus on our DIY projects. I was able to text her updates and she was like a best friend, always obsessed with the progress and encouraging. I couldn’t share with my own best friends because I wanted to blow their minds when they saw everything at the wedding. It was such a gift having Stephanie to confide in.

No one thinks a rehearsal is going to be fun. Everyone was absolutely charmed by Stephanie and HANGING on her every word/advice. We have never seen our families listen to anyone like the way they listened to her. It takes someone really special to get the 2 year old AND mom that doesn’t speak English to listen closely. She came up with one of the most special moments of the wedding: have the officiant step aside and let the ring bearer stand front and center to give the bride and groom their rings. It was movie magic. She was incredibly patient, drove one hour to the rehearsal, waited for late family members, brought AND dropped off the flowers at the Airbnb; not fazed or complaining once.

Other vendors made so many last minute changes to Stephanie’s schedule, introduced new ideas 2 weeks before go time, and she handled it all with enormous grace. She and her assistants acted like our maid of honors at the wedding, bringing the bride champagne, making sure the bride looks flawless; all while juggling real coordination like keeping family from destroying the reception hall with bags and trouble shooting last minute difficulties from the venue. They were so incredibly thoughtful during every moment of the wedding day, it brought the bride to tears. Stephanie also MC-ed (not her job but she goes above and beyond). We definitely noticed how quickly she fixed the song when we missed our dance cue. She did it so smoothly, no guests noticed.

Then, they ended the BEAST of a day at 2 AM. Picking Sweetheart Events is the best choice we ever made (besides picking each other). We just love them and are so happy to follow their success as they bring joy to so many other couples.

Our wedding at Sea to Sky in Squamish, BC Canada was gorgeous and perfect; it was everything we could have dreamed of. It was not easy to plan and execute a destination wedding in a foreign country, I needed local boots on the ground! Sweetheart delivered, and their team always had my back. There were a few hiccups but what wedding doesn't have them? I had my experts from Sweetheart Events managing every detail perfectly. They were amazing at helping me design and execute our dream wedding, I could not have done it without them. We were exceptionally pleased. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose Sweetheart Events again.

Even though we only hired her for day of planning, she has been involved with us throughout the whole year. She and her team did a phenomenal job ensuring our day went so well and so smoothly, she made sure everything was perfect! She made sure we were doing well at everyone single moment! She went above and beyond her job duties, paying attention to the smallest details. She was immensely helpful and resourceful, solving all our problems. When it got too hot on the dance floor, she was quick to distribute fans to our guests. I didn't have to stress about anything because she was on top of her game. On top of that, she made sure we were having a great time, she had chocolate and bubbly and a sweet card for me in my bridal room, also a Scotch ready for my husband. She stayed with us an hour after our reception was finished to make sure we have a safe ride home.

Stephanie was our wedding planner and we can't recommend her enough. She helped us find a perfect venue very quickly, planned all decor including flowers and set up, met with our venue to help create our menu, printed and set up all of our menus and signs etc, and provided fantastic day of coordination with her team in addition to countless other details. The fee for her service was more than worth it - Stephanie saved us both lots of time and stress and her attention to detail and vast general wedding expertise made our wedding day beautiful and enjoyable. She suggested vendors that matched our budget and overall vision. Stephanie was also our officiant which was perfect - she created a very personal and lovely ceremony. Stephanie is amazing all around! I don't know how I would have gotten through my wedding planning and day without her. We hired her to be our DOC and she was worth every penny. She planned our wedding timeline down to the minute and coordinated with all our vendors in the weeks leading up to the wedding. On the day of instead of having to worry if everything was being set up correctly and running around setting up place cards we could just relax with our respective bridal parties and get ready while Stephanie got everything ready for us at our venue. She stayed through the whole night making sure everything went smoothly and took down everything after we left. Plus Stephanie has such a warm, bubbly personality you'll want her to be your BFF and still hang out with her even after your wedding is over!

Having Shawna from Sweetheart Events be part of our wedding was everything we could have hoped for and more! We always knew that we wanted to be very hands on during the wedding planning process and the Sweetheart Events “True to You” package allowed us to do just that. For the year leading up to our wedding Shawna helped us keep our design and decor ideas on track, and most importantly, gave us all the tools to prepare a realistic budget that we could stick to, while ensuring that our overall wedding day vision was fulfilled. She gave us so many tips and suggestions along the way that made our lives much easier during the planning process. Shawna was there for us to do all of the day-of set up and coordination at the venue, including ensuring we were sticking to our timeline. Walking into the venue for the ceremony was the first time either us of saw our vision finally come to life, and it was more beautiful than we even planned for it to be. Shawna made sure the whole day went off without a hitch (and yes, we realize that something almost always goes wrong on a wedding day but if anything did we still have no idea about it) - that is how awesome she is. We will never forget lining up for the ceremony and her giving us so much energy and a little pep-talk for each of us before we walked down the aisle. It is so special to have someone who cares so much about your happiness and who has been so involved in your day stand by your side moments before your final journey on the way to say “I do”. Shawna is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and she is genuinely excited for all her couples. She is always gushing about how much she loves her job and her clients. If you are in search of an event planner that will made your day truly remarkable and your planning process enjoyable and run seamlessly - Shawna and the entire SHE team are your girls!

Beth was incredible from start to finish! Besides wedding planning, she’s also done some incredible work in calligraphy and with Celsia flowers (where she still works & teaches), so that was a huge plus. Beth was easy to communicate with at all times, and was always overflowing with positivity and creative solutions to tricky problems - like the time when we had to plan an ENTIRE wedding from scratch 3 weeks before the wedding date due to our original venue closing indefinitely!! Despite this chaos, Beth really worked to ensure my now-husband and I were calm and enjoying the process, and we really appreciated that thoughtfulness.

Also, wedding planning (read: spending) can get out of hand really quick - and Beth is very practical in terms of what’s actually necessary to plan a fun & beautiful wedding that does not compromise the ‘wow’ factor in any way to achieve your vision for the day. All in all, she’s your girl if you want your day to be beyond perfect. Thank you Beth!

I wish I could be more eloquent in my review but honestly, Sweetheart Events is amazing. Look no further- hire them. We had Kathlene and Beth on our big day and they were perfect in every way possible. Our entire day was completely taken care of and I had absolutely no stress. Money well spent, not only for their exceptional work ethic and service- but for peace of mind.

When we first began looking for a wedding planner we were struggling with the fact that we were trying to plan a wedding in BC from San Diego and couldn't visit venues in-person and were having a lot of trouble narrowing it down. We wanted a wedding planner that was truly passionate about what they did and would listen to our ideas (of which we had a lot!) and make them a reality. When we first met Stephanie (via skype) we were sure that she was the perfect person to plan our wedding. We are both very hesitant when it come to excitement and we loved our passionate and excited that Stephanie was about wedding planning!
Being from outside of BC, so much of our planning had to be done virtually through email and photos and phone calls (of which there were many :)), but of course there are certain things that you can't do over skype which led to a series of whirlwind trips to Vancouver. During these trips we were completely surprised by how much time Stephanie spent with us - from being our chaffeur to leading us down the Sea to Sky in a blizzard - Stephanie was truly our ride or die through the process and made sure that we made to each and every appointment and when we couldn't and got stuck in Whistler that we found a quiet room to hop on skype just in time!

Sweetheart Events are absolutely fantastic! Stephanie and Shawna were amazing from the moment we made our first enquiries to our wedding day and beyond. They created our dreamed intimate wedding while keeping our budget and personalities in mind. For that, they were the best investment.
