I think I could write a love letter to Maren! We had the absolute privilege of working with her as our wedding planner for our August 2025 wedding. Choosing Maren was hands down the best decision we made. We went with her full-service option, and over the two years of planning, Maren was consistently professional, incredibly helpful, and always there to ease my (the bride’s) endless worries.

TLDR: Besides an open bar 😉, hiring Maren was the single best investment for making our wedding dreams come to life.

As a groom, hiring a wedding coordinator/planner seemed like an unnecessary expense -something a smart, organized couple could hand on their own. And to be fair, if you hire the wrong person, that might still be true. But Maren is absolutely the RIGHT person.

We were planning our wedding from Florida, nearly 3,000 miles (4,800 km) away from Banff. Doing that without someone on the ground seemed daunting. We reached out to about ten different planners across Banff, Canmore, and Calgary. A lot of them sounded the same and had similar common ‘glowing’ reviews— “extremely helpful and attentive”, “goes above and beyond”, “very responsive and organized” — which, while reassuring, didn’t help us distinguish one from another or help ensure we were getting the best value for the right price. What really sets a coordinator apart is experience, honesty, and trust. That’s where Maren shines.

Maren has extensive experience – first working in the wedding industry on the venue side before starting her own business as a coordinator for the couples looking to get married in the Bow Valley area. She has worked with both small and large budget weddings, with ranging guest-sized weddings at almost every venue possible in the area. Throughout the planning process, we had the opportunity to get to know both Maren and her husband (to be) Max. Both of whom are genuinely amazing people who have become life-long friends and the bonds we formed with them extend far beyond the wedding planning process.

What makes Maren unique is her ability to (tactfully) give her honest opinion on all decisions. Even though we technically hired Maren for day-of coordination, she became our go-to resource for vendor quotes, decor decisions, and even activity suggestions for our families during the week. Most couples only plan a wedding once—Maren has done it over 150 times. When a vendor quote seemed high, she helped us negotiate or find better alternatives. She is 100% on your team, and although she does have a great vendor list of people she’s worked with in the past, she is not biased to them and will always make sure you have the best product for your big day. One example that stands out: we had a questionable plan to move 100 chairs from our ceremony to the reception space. Maren didn’t just raise a red flag—she came back with five better options, complete with logistics and pricing. Her honesty and problem-solving turned a logistical headache into a simple, elegant solution. That kind of proactive communication is rare, and it’s exactly why we trusted her so completely.

A relationship built on trust with your wedding coordinator is crucial, it takes time to be formed during the planning process so that on the day of your wedding you trust them to make decisions on your behalf. On our wedding day, I think the only decision I made was saying “I do”. Maren did everything else: coordinating vendors, wrangling an 8-person band, managing setup and teardown, keeping us on schedule, and even handling tipping. Only the next morning did I fully realize how crucial Maren was to our special day, our master of all, behind the scenes making sure everything was perfect!

If you’ve made it this far you probably get the idea that Maren is a very special and talented wedding coordinator, and you would be lucky to work with her in planning your wedding. She currently leads every wedding herself and limits the number she takes on so each couple gets her full attention. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she expands her team soon and starts training someone to take the lead on a wedding or two. We were lucky enough to meet two of her great assistants (because of the size of the wedding), Harry and Laura, and they were both fantastic support on our wedding day!

Maren made the weekend a huge hit for us as our Day-of Coordinator for our April Lake Louise wedding day.

Planning - she spent considerable time with us on multiple Zoom calls leading up to the wedding weekend. She's on task with a running 'punch list' of items for us to tackle before the big day. She's always thinking about next steps and making sure the group continues on the run of show - while we were bouncing around doing photos or whatever the day required. Good relationships with local Canmore / Banff area vendors, great follow-up in finding available spaces and restaurant managers to finalize bookings with. Can't say enough .. Maren is very proactive and diligent. Our group was a little unique - 25/28 people, so finding activities and restaurants to handle us was a bit of a search. Maren helped out - a lot.

Overall Vibe - from a pre-walk at Lake Louise, to thinking about little extra touches like floating candles and how many hours we were keeping our guests moving before they needed rest / food, to coordinating our wedding cake delivery to Sage Bistro for our wedding reception dinner - Maren is on top of it. Felt like during the planning process (which was only about 3-4 weeks with her) - we were moving quickly to line out events and locations, but also enjoying the planning. Friendly attitude and still pushing for a successful day. Good rapport with our photographer and videographer too!

Our wedding day at Lake Louise ended up being magical. A snowy day at the Lake, with trips to Banff and Canmore after, along with a Two Jack photo stop. Maren helped execute this day and we were in need of help as both of us were out of town or in the States during the planning. When deciding on a coordinator we had talked to a more well-known company in the area who were very unwilling to deal with some of the trickier logistics our wedding presented, instead trying to make us change our vision.
