Ben Lariviere Photography
For me, photography is a powerful way to tell stories, express emotion and document moments. While I’m always striving to create unique, beautiful images, telling stories through photographs is what drives my passion to create. I approach every assignment as a challenge to shape a narrative, express genuine feelings and record both large and small details. I get an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, when my clients tell me how much they love their photos and it drives me to continue to grow as an artist.
To me, wedding photography is more than capturing a few nice photos of a special day. It's about quickly immersing myself into a couple's closest friends and family, being there for the big important moments and the ones in between to authentically represent not only how those moments looked, but how they FELT. I want you to be able to look back on your wedding photos in 50 years and immediately be transported back into those moments and relive the smiles, laughter, and tears. By being calm, quiet, and unobtrusive, I can capture moments as they happen and by interacting with you and your closest humans, I aim to make every "posed" photo a genuine interaction. Put your trust in a photographer with over a decade of experience, who you feel comfortable with, and who aims to create beautiful, timeless, and authentic images for you to cherish for a lifetime. I can't wait to create photo magic with you.
Wedding Photography Packages

Most packages also include a complimentary engagement shoot and a custom-designed wedding album, the perfect keepsake to remind you of all the special moments, details, and emotions.
Inquire today to see a list of wedding packages and book early to ensure your date is available. At booking, we will both sign a contract for our mutual protection and a booking fee will be required to hold your date. I recommend photo albums to all of my clients because I believe they're the most beautiful and accessible way to keep, view, and share your wedding photos. Your book layout will be professionally designed to display your photos in a sequence that effectively communicates the story of your wedding day, while only juxtaposing photos that complement each other.
Your album will be professionally printed and bound in a hardcover, with the cover material of your choice. Options include a variety of colours in linen and eco-leather, as well as black genuine leather. Debossed text on the cover is also available as a finishing touch.
I always recommend engagement photos to my clients because it is the perfect practice run for those who are not totally comfortable in front of a camera (which, frankly, is most of us). After a short, fun hour of engagement photos, you’ll feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera and by the time your wedding day rolls around, your photos will all feel natural and look beautiful because you’ve had practice. Your engagement session also gives me an opportunity to get to know you and your fiancé(e) a little bit better, which allows me to better create photos that more genuinely represent your personalities. Finally, you’ll get to know me and my working style, so that you will feel more comfortable with the whole process when we work together again on your wedding day. Most of my wedding packages include a complimentary 1-hour engagement session.
Some couples love the idea of having a second photographer along for the wedding day. This will ensure that every moment of your wedding day is captured and that there are even more beautiful photos to choose from to create the perfect wedding album. The second photographer will be a highly skilled photographer, who will look and act in a polite and professional manner for the length of your wedding day. I quality control and post-process all of my second photographers' images to create cohesiveness among your entire set of images.
Values & Inclusivity
Ben Lariviere Photography has always been and will always be an inclusive space for all. In both my business and in my personal life, I'm committed to always being accepting and respectful to others, including clients, subcontractors, and colleagues, no matter their race, religion, how they identify, or who they love. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable, including unequal treatment based on age, ethnicity, disabilities, or body type. I stand up to injustice & bigotry and I will only support, partner with, and recommend other businesses who share those same values; including my second photographers, businesses with which I share images and creating teams for styled shoots or other projects. Ben Lariviere Photography is a safe space and all are welcome.

Meet the team
My name is Ben Lariviere. I’m a full-time photographer, currently living in Kitchener, Ontario with my wife Kat, our three adorable, but mischievous cats and our unreasonably cute son, Rylan. I studied Photography at Ryerson University and I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts. Raised in the rural Ontario town of Baden, I always had an interest in art and storytelling, but struggled, for many years, to feel like I was good enough or creative enough to call myself an artist. It wasn't until I began to experiment with photography in high school that I felt that I had finally discovered my medium.
While studying fine art and photography at Ryerson, I began freelancing in 2009. Shortly after graduation, I jumped into photography on a full-time basis in 2012, specializing in wedding & lifestyle portrait photography, working primarily in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo. I’m always looking to grow and gain new experiences within the world of photography. I’ve begun to dip my toes into commercial photography, creating marketing imagery for businesses and I’d love to one day create images for major commercial advertising campaigns.
2018 was a pivotal year. Kat and I welcomed our baby boy, Rylan, to our family. Life. Changed. Drastically. What hasn't changed is my passion of photographing awesome couples, families and authentic moments and relationships. The last 10 years of working in professional portraiture has flown by. I'm always challenging myself to learn and grow my craft because I love that I can tell a story through images that allow couples and families to relive their precious memories.
When I'm not making people go from feeling uncomfortable to having fun in front of my lens, you can find me: drinking all of the coffee, watching garbage (but thoroughly entertaining) TV shows, paying extra for guac, rock climbing (when I can find the time) or sampling craft beers while playing board games with friends.
