Alex Popov Photography is a husband and wife wedding photography team based in beautiful Canmore, Alberta. They specialize in telling your love story through timeless, candid and adventurous photography.
As locals to the Bow Valley, they know all the best spots for capturing incredible couples photos. When Alex and Cat are not exploring the mountains on skis, mountain bike or rock climbing you’ll find them photographing outdoorsy couples in the mountains surrounding Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Emerald Lake.

Alex and Cat love exploring the Rockies to capture stunning mountain images of couples, whether it's mountaintop vistas or valley bottom hikes. They offer engagement sessions, elopements, weddings and wedding ceremony videos. Every wedding and elopement is covered by Alex and Cat with only one event per day, allowing them to focus entirely on your wedding. Also included is planning assistance for choosing vendors, venues and locations, as well as edited high-resolution photos, a private online gallery and personal printing rights.

Amazing work!
Alex is an amazing photographer with such a good eye for detail! Him and his wife are such nice bubbly, friendly people - they fit right in with our small group of friends! Can't wait to go back to banff and get more pictures done by Alex in the future!

Absolutely Incredible Experience
Alex & Cat are incredible. They are professional, punctual, and genuine. From the start, their communication was great and they provided vendor and photo location recommendations. The photos exceeded our expectations, Alex's eye for landscapes and attention to detail is unmatched. Captured the Moment
We had a great experience with Alex and Cat. They were always quick to respond to the many questions we had and flexible with an evolving/changing itinerary and happily snapped photos even when the weather changed. we never felt rushed.
My husband and I are usually not fond of posing for photos but Alex and Cat put us at ease and provided many props on how to pose for the perfect shot. The pics themselves turned out beautiful - it was important to us to capture the beauty of the landscape and not just of us and Alex did not disappoint. We cannot wait to get some of the pictures up on our wall (hard part is choosing which ones since we have so many beautiful photos to pick from).
I cannot recommend Alex and Cat enough. Thanks for capturing our special day!

Perfect Photographer for our Wedding Day
We really enjoyed working with Alex and Cat! They were professional and organized, but also super friendly, and laid back. When we started searching for wedding photographers we felt a bit overwhelmed. Some of the photographers seemed impersonal and arrogant and they did not have flexible pricing or packages. From the moment we reached out, Alex and Cat were responsive and helpful. They helped us select the appropriate photo package for our engagement photos and wedding photos and did not try to upsell us or pressure us in anyway. We also appreciated how laid back and flexible they were during the photo shoots. The shoots were not overly posed so it helped us loosen up and it made the experience natural and enjoyable. We ended up having unexpected rain on our wedding day and Alex & Cat quickly came up with a Plan B, and our photos ended up being beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Stunning Wedding Photos!
We are so happy that we chose Alex Popov Photography for our special day! Right away Alex and Cat’s professionalism shone through, as they were well-organized in their preparation for our day, and communicated regularly and clearly. On the day itself, their phenomenal abilities allowed for them to capture our special moments in a way that made each photo seem natural. We were also impressed with their tricks for getting the perfect shots, from their placement in our Banquet Hall, which they did without blocking other guests’ line of sight, to their ability to capture the movement of the wedding dress and veil. Their attention to detail and framing is superb – please see the sample photos included as the product speaks for itself!

Amazing Experience and Beautiful Photos!
Alex and Cat were so easy to work with from start to finish! They were very responsive throughout the whole process and were so flexible when we had to make some last minute scheduling changes. They were very knowledgeable about the Banff area. We did our elopement at Bow Lake and they suggested Peyto Lake as an additional location for photos. They knew all of the best places for photos and directed us to make sure we felt comfortable and natural throughout the whole process. Our photos turned out better than we could have ever imagined. They also provided our photos very far ahead of the estimated time. They were so kind, thoughtful and fun and we would recommend them to anyone for their special day!

Best Photographers Ever!!!!
Alex & Cat are exceptional photographers!!!! We are so grateful to have these incredible photos for the rest of our lives. They captured the most breathtaking photos for us at Moraine Lake as well as Lake Louise and we will forever remember hiking up there in my big dress and my now husband's shiny shoes! They were so kind, calming and considerate. Also, great to chat with! They were very thoughtful and took a photo of each table at our reception which was such a lovely touch! 100% would recommend Alex & Cat! These photos are just the 'sneak peek' photos!
