XO Life Celebrations
About
LIFE IS EXTRAORDINARY!
Celebrating life’s milestones is an opportunity to focus on what really matters.
At XO. Life Celebrations we take that seriously. With an emphasis on values, simplicity, lightheartedness, and warmth, let us help you create a unique, meaningful ceremony for your wedding or other life-cycle event.
XO. Life Celebrations is a wedding officiant business founded by Officiant and Life Celebration Specialist, Tracy B Richards, serving Belleville, Toronto, and surrounding areas in Southeastern Ontario.
XO stands for eXtra Ordinary, owing to Tracy’s passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence in serving couples, families, and her community at large. XO also represents the emphasis on a genuine connection that is present between Tracy and everyone she works with.
Tracy's reputation as a warm, supportive guide and mentor throughout the ceremony planning process is what her clients have come to appreciate most about her. Tracy's strong values and inclusive approach are what guide and motivate her, both personally and professionally.
Tracy and her team are highly trained, extremely professional, and deeply committed to creating meaningful, values-based, personalized ceremonies for every couple they meet.
Experience
Tracy is an experienced relationship counsellor and has been devoted to helping individuals and couples learn how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships since 2001. Discovering that this was not simply a vocation, but a true “calling” led her to become ordained as a Marketplace Minister and licensed to solemnize marriages in the Province of Ontario in 2015. Since then Tracy has gone on to officiate hundreds of weddings and has supported her community through many seasons of celebration and loss as a Life Celebrant.
"Becoming a Wedding Officiant and Life Celebrant was such a natural evolution for me. I can’t think of any higher honour than to be supporting, assisting, and guiding other members of my community as they move through significant Life Events."
Start Your Marriage of Right! Enjoy the Wedding, LOVE the Marriage: MARRIAGE PREP COACHING
With 2+ decades of experience working with couples, my program will provide you with valuable insight into why some marriages succeed and others fail, and about how to build a satisfactory, stable relationship. I have studied with well-known experts such as Harville Hendrix & Helen LaKelly Hunt, Brene Brown, John Gottman, and Stan Tatkin. I have facilitated both the Imago Dialogue and Daring Way Programs.
Do We Really Marriage Prep Coaching?
It’s already expected that you will probably spend a lot of money, not to mention time, in preparing for your wedding day. But did you know that preparing for marriage is different?
As we all know, most of you will probably spend half of your time preparing for your wedding day but spending time to be prepared for your married life is often overlooked.
You are now taking a big step forward in your relationship and Marriage Prep Coaching can be beneficial to your future success. If you are seeking ways to bring more communication and understanding into your partnership, this may be your answer.
Because backgrounds differ, communication styles and abilities will likely vary. Over time, those differences can lead to tension and dysfunction. However, the tools I use, such as the Prepare/Enrich assessment combined with the 8 follow-up feedback sessions may help you overcome many pitfalls of contention. Likewise, it can help lead to a deeper understanding of each other.
ANNOUNCING OUR EXCLUSIVE HOST VENUE: DEER CREEK HOMESTEAD
For years, we’ve had a vision of creating a “Tiny Chapel” on our own Country Homestead where couples could have a simple, yet elegant elopement with just a few friends. As couples began to embrace the charm and cost-effectiveness of smaller, simpler weddings, we decided to take the leap of faith and purchased our own 2.5-acre property in the Village of Madoc, ON in the spring of 2021. Known lovingly as “The Little Village with the Heart of Gold'', Madoc was originally the epicenter of Canada’s Goldrush. Conveniently located only 2 hours east of Toronto, Madoc Village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers endless opportunities to explore nature and experience authentic country life.
While Deer Creek Homestead is being lovingly restored we will be offering the following services exclusively at Woodland North Lavender Farm and O'Hara Mill Homestead in Madoc, ON
- "Just the Two of Us" Legal Marriage Signing (license and two witnesses required)
- Intimate "DIY" Elopements
- Casual, Country Style Elopements
- All-Inclusive Elegant Elopements
We look forward to welcoming you to Madoc very soon!

About Me
With 2+ decades of experience working with couples, my program will provide you with valuable insight into why some marriages succeed and others fail, and about how to build a satisfactory, stable relationship. I have studied with well-known experts such as Harville Hendrix & Helen LaKelly Hunt, Brene Brown, John Gottman, and Stan Tatkin. Do We Really Need This?
You are now taking a big step forward in your relationship and the Prepare/Enrich program can be beneficial to your future success. If you are seeking ways to bring more communication and understanding into your partnership, this may be your answer.
Because backgrounds differ, communication styles and abilities will likely vary. Over time, those differences can lead to tension and dysfunction. However, tools like this assessment may help you overcome many pitfalls of contention. Likewise, it can help lead to a deeper understanding of each other.
What Is It?
The Prepare/Enrich program begins with an Online assessment questionnaire (about 40 minutes long) completed individually by each partner.
The assessment addresses ten areas including:
- Communication
- Conflict Resolution
- Family and Friends
- Relationship Roles
- Financial Management
- Leisure Activities
- Partner Style and Habits
- Children and Parenting
- Sexuality and Affection
- Spiritual Beliefs
The resulting "Couples Report" can help you spot potential trouble areas within your relationship but it also highlights the relationship's beautiful qualities. Discovering marital strengths and weaknesses can help you develop realistic expectations. As a result, this discovery can benefit both of you individually and as a whole.
What Can We Expect?
Using both the Couples Report and the Couples Workbook, we will then follow up with 8, 60-90 minute private feedback sessions and will complete in-session exercises and well as assign homework so you can explore the new skills you are learning.
As a couple, you will share in discussions and activities designed to engage you in increasing your mutual understanding of yourselves and each other, through a combination of expert guidance, couple dialogue, and practice of the new skills you are learning.
Individual session rate is $160 + HST ($1280)
The 8-session package on WeddingWire: $1,150 +HST when you book your wedding ceremony with us.
Meet the team

In addition to being a Life Celebration Specialist (Weddings, Funerals & Life-Cycle Events) I am a Personal & Relational Growth Counsellor & Mentor specializing in Spirituality, Relationships & Families
Becoming a Life Celebration Specialist was such a natural evolution for me. I can't think of any higher honour than to be supporting, assisting and guiding other members of my community as they move through significant Life Events.
If you're curious about my vibe, I'm very down-to-earth and I care deeply about making heatfelt, meaningful connections vs superficial interactions.
I enjoy an abundant life: writing, painting, travelling, mentoring and exploring the edges of my comfort zone. This ensures that I am constantly growing -- and I'm grateful that I can share all of it with my cherished clients, family, and friends.
How I became a Life Celebration Specialist
Through my own life experience and my work with couples, I became passionate about relationships. The suggestion to become a Wedding Officiant originally came from a couple I had previously worked with. When they became engaged and expressed their desire for me to perform their ceremony, it just felt 'right' and, as they say... the rest is history. Today, I perform between 40-60 ceremonies a year and love every minute of it!

Following a career focused on creating meaningful people management solutions, I have had the privilege to connect with and guide a diverse selection of clients in the discovery of their passions and purpose. As a daughter, sister, mother, friend and confidant, I value and live by the ‘family first’ motto. As an avid traveller, I have trekked a volcano, zip-lined through a rainforest, and I enjoy a schmalzy film now and again…a die-hard romantic!
