Right on point!
Rachel was very professional, very personable. Not only did she make our ceremony about us, it was very short and sweet, just as we wanted it to be. We would highly recommend Rachel.Sent on 13/10/2020

Couldn't have picked a better vendor myself!
We were fortunate enough to win an elopement giveaway and luckily Rachel was the selected officiant for the big day. We could not have picked a more fitting officiant ourselves. We had 3 weeks to prepare (contest announcement date - pre arranged elopement date) and she connected with us right away through phone and I immediately felt comfortable speaking with her and trusting her with an important part of our day. She was very organized with a questionnaire and I could tell she had many great ideas coming together for our ceremony as we spoke on the phone. Within the week she had sent a draft for us to review and she hit the nail on the head first try! Our ceremony was perfectly personalized. To top it all off Rachel was so flexible and up for an adventure when she willingly met us at the top of the escarpment and hiked 15 minutes in the rain & mud to a spot in the forest to proceed with the ceremony. We were so lucky to have her be a part of our very intimate and special ceremony. I would highly recommend her for any ceremony, especially the ones that aren't so traditional!Sent on 18/10/2020
Rachel Edwards, Wedding Officiant and Life Cycle Celebrant's reply:Thank you Elana and Cale for your wonderful review! It certainly was an adventure and an unforgettable day. It felt really special to witness your promises in the middle of that beautiful forest. I could hear your vows echoing back after you exchanged them, I will never forget that moment!

Rachel made our day so special, she took time in advance to ask questions and she really made our ceremony about us and showed our love story perfectly through the ceremony. She responded quickly to questions and was flexible with us! She preformed a sand ceremony that was perfect. She made our day so special and perfect!Sent on 16/10/2020

I want to tell you a bit about me. I grew up in Whitby, Ontario. My parents were from Liverpool, England I am the youngest of 4 children. In high shcool I did a personality test and the results indicated I would be best suited to the military or to be a Minister. I dismissed this information, clearly the test was wrong. I went to McGill University and studied English Literature. After that I went to live in Europe for 2 years. I returned to Canada and worked at different jobs, got married and had children. When my oldest child was born I decided the best fit for our family was for me to stay home. Over the next 13 years we had 3 more. I loved being a stay at home mum and I also home schooled the oldest children up to Grade 9.
My niece asked me to Officiate her wedding and that was the catalyst for me. I had found the work I loved. I completed 2 certificate courses at the Celebrant Foundation and Institute in Weddings and Funerals. I like everything about this work; meeting people, writing (finally my English Lit. degree was serving me!), creating meaningful ceremonies, researching rituals, readings, music and trends. I hope to create many different ceremonies, to date I have performed Weddings and Funerals. I was ordained in March of 2019 as a Metaphysical Minister, so I guess that personality test was partly right.
I have lived in beautiful Owen Sound since December 2008. The beauty that surrounds me continues to inspire me and keeps me centred. I love travelling, I have spent a lot of time in Spain, particularly Basque Country, and also love to visit Wales. I have a horse who is teaching me lessons I didn't even know I had to learn. We also adopted 2 cats, I always thought of myself as a "dog" person but I realize I'm an "animal" person. I speak other languages and can incorporate that into my ceremonies. I feel that because of the travelling I did, I am open to different perspectives and traditions, I know this helps me to be more creative in my practice. I love to laugh, I think humour can heal and it's a great way to connect with people. I have found a calling that I can do as long as I can read and drive so I intend to Officiate for many years to come!
