EXPERIENCE & CARE
Katherine is a compassionate and accomplished Marriage Officiant and event planner who has been licensed by the Office of the Registrar General since 2004. For over 20 years, she has officiated multicultural, humanist, and themed weddings, helping couples celebrate their love with exclusive marriage ceremonies.
She is also a longtime teacher, writer, editor, and visual artist, who designs ceremonies the same way she approaches life: with creativity, enthusiasm, and love.

Marriage Ceremonies
With over 700 weddings performed throughout Stratford, Waterloo, Guelph, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Toronto, the Niagara region, and beyond, Katherine brings extensive experience and a truly personalized approach to every ceremony. She works closely with every couple to create and deliver a ceremony that reflects their relationship and story. Cultural traditions, family customs, poetry, music, symbolic rituals, and even wording in different languages, are all encouraged and welcomed, and ensure that every ceremony is unique.
Legal solemnization services are also available for couples who wish to have their marriage legally registered in Ontario before celebrating their wedding abroad, or for those couples who prefer a simple and straightforward marriage service.
Wedding Day Coordination
Katherine and her dedicated team provide professional wedding day coordination services to ensure that your wedding day goes as smoothly as possible. From guiding your wedding rehearsal to managing important details on the day itself, they help create a calm and organized experience, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the magic of your wedding day.
Baby Welcoming Celebrations
These are especially beautiful and heartfelt ceremonies that welcome a child into a family and community. During this ceremony, parents make promises of love, support, guidance, and encouragement for their little one. This is also a time when parents may name their child as part of the celebration.
The inclusion of music, poetry, special foods, the giving of gifts and other symbolic elements are all encouraged to make this family occasion especially meaningful. Parents may also choose trusted friends or relatives to serve as Guide Parents, who will make lifelong commitments to support and encourage the child through the years.
These celebrations are not limited to babies. Children of any age, including adopted children, may be honoured through a welcoming ceremony.
Funerals and Memorials
Humanist tributes truly honour a loved one who has passed away. Dignified and sentimental, without invoking religious doctrine or the blessing of any deity, these services are deeply personal as they commemorate the uniqueness of that person’s life and personality, while bringing comfort and connection to family and friends.

A Rare Combination of Professionalism and Heart
From our very first conversation, Katherine was incredibly professional, kind, responsive, patient, and supportive. Our circumstances were somewhat time-sensitive, but throughout the entire process she guided us with such professionalism, reassurance, and care that we never felt overwhelmed or stressed.
What truly sets Katherine apart is the extraordinary level of care, attention, and love she brings to her work. She prepared a beautiful ceremony package, personalized vows, keepsake materials, thoughtfully organized documents, and so many unexpected touches that completely exceeded our expectations. Every detail was handled with remarkable care and thoughtfulness.
She arranged witnesses for us, carefully reviewed our documents, remained flexible when our schedule changed at the last minute, and always made us feel like a priority. The wonderful witnesses she arranged, Sassan and Megan, were incredibly warm and welcoming and added even more joy and comfort to our special day. Despite her busy schedule, she was always available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever we needed it.
Most importantly, we never felt like clients. We felt cared for. Katherine combines exceptional professionalism with genuine warmth, kindness, and compassion. She approaches every detail as though she is helping close friends or family members, and that is something very rare to find.
The greatest gift Katherine gave us was peace of mind. We were able to fully enjoy our wedding day knowing that everything was in caring and capable hands.

Wonderful officiant and coordination services
First of all, Katherine and the team she brought on the day were incredibly kind and such a warm presence - which goes a long way on your wedding day!
On the officiant side, compared to other options, we were grateful for how flexible Katherine was. She was willing to provide really valuable guidance but was open to making sure the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. She accommodated lots of revisions, and even was willing to speak both English and German (as we have family that speak German as well)! We wrote our own personal vows/promises, and Katherine went above and beyond to print them beautifully with ribbon in booklets for us to read from and for us to keep as beautiful keepsakes.
On the coordination side, Katherine ended up helping us by bringing two people to help with setup and ceremony music, ensuring the day went smoothly. We were also able to rent a speaker and microphone directly from her. This was incredible value. Katherine was very thoughtful in helping coordinate over email, but we had an in person meeting about a month before the event and Katherine came incredibly organized to go through everything and ask the right questions. She helped be the point of contact for vendors on the day of, so we didn't have to worry as much. She was prepared with a plan B all the time, which came in handy very last minute when it started raining unexpectedly right before what should have been our outdoor ceremony. The team helped us pivot quickly and the execution of setup on the day was detail oriented and exactly what we pictured! While we got access to the space early so my husband ended up doing a lot of the setup as well, Katherine and the team still went around to add finishing touches.
Overall, Katherine and her team fit in perfectly on our wedding day and we would highly recommend her services.
