Amazing experience with this vendor! Would Highly Recommend !!

Pelican Catering was so professional and did an amazing job at our wedding! The food was delicious and had our guests raving! I would highly recommend choosing them as your caterers. John is absolutely incredible and he made our wedding day seamless, so many of our other vendors and guests thought he was our wedding day coordinator. He is very precise and listens to all your requests and makes them happen for you. If I ever need catering again, I will be 100% be choosing Pelican again :)

We had our son鈥檚 wedding reception on July 07, 2019 catered by Pelican

Pelican Catering made our son Anandh and Daughter in law Abirah鈥漵 wedding reception at Grand Cinnamon event so much memorable than we could have expected. They provided high quality food and service for the event. The starters and the main four course meal was so delicious every guest who attended the occasion commented how good it was. We had guests all the way from Australia, England and many parts of USA. The set up team took extra time to ensure the seating arrangements were done that every guest鈥檚 food preference was handled correctly.
Kumar and his team were amazing we will use Pelican Catering in our future functions.

Good service

We had pelican cater our wedding last weekend. Our experience with them was good! On time and professional. Food was good! Great service. Price is a little high but otherwise I do recommend them

Amazing job by pelican!

It was a fabulous event held by Pelican Events & catering at the Best Western plus. The event was for our daughters Bridal Shower on Mar 9th, Henna Party on Mar 14th and Reception at Deer Creek Golf Course on Mar 17th. The cocktail hour Hors d'oeuvres and scrumptious desserts served at the reception by Pelican were out of the world.
Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting, delicious food and the great service that Kumar and team provided. We received the glowing feedback from our guests and we couldn't be happier.
Kumar we can't thank you enough for your hard work and the seamless approach you take in satisfying your customers. We were very impressed of how the ceremony went smoothly and fantastic job guiding all of us. Thank you again for your outstanding efforts as we celebrated our daughter's special day with families and friends. It was a truly memorable day for all of us. We will definitely have no hesitation in recommending Pelican Event and Catering to our family and friends.

Disappointed with the service Pelican provided.
Dishes were dirty food stain stuck on plate.
Feedback from owner and sales team unresponsive.

Very unprofessional service.
Would not recommend Pelican to anyone.
There are other catering companies out there that actually care about there client.
Shop around.

Inspect the facility where the food is prepared.
Pelicans kitchen is filthy should be shut down.

While the few folks they had on the ground did an ok job on execution (although were very late setting up tables/linens causing us to have to do their job in addition to the decorating), the people we dealt with getting there were very difficult to work with.

Planning Process:
Multiple emails went unanswered, Items discussed in person were then not honoured as they "weren't in the notes" (However they were in mine). I had to chase them to send payment - which I found weird a payment schedule wasn't more defined. Getting answers about important details, such as tent lighting, was like pulling teeth. I often got the sense that they were so nonchalant because they work on events all the time, however they did not instil confidence in their ability to execute.

The biggest thing that got me was that we had planned a special drink but 2 days before the wedding we cancelled the whole thing. This drink was my favourite part of my wedding and I had to cancel it. Because it was out of their ordinary the plan for 5 months was that we'd pay for the alcohol required to serve the 100 guests we had. On the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding I got the final bill and there was an additional $750 that was NEVER discussed. We were now being charged 7.50 per drink because we changed the type of bar (from host to consumption). They claimed it was due to liquor licence limitations...which I can appreciate. However if this was the case they should have been proactive and flagged to me that I would require a separate licence for our drink. I would have gotten this and been able to execute the one thing I was looking forward to most. To be honest, i got the feeling that they were really just concerned about how much time/effort it would take to serve this special drink after dinner. I was NOT impressed that this event company didn't think to mention I'd need a licence in order to have the evening play out the way that we had jointly planned for 5 months.

We were lined up to sign another caterer when we attended an open house for Pelican's prospective bridal clients. The food was amazing and Carol managed to juggle questions from the crowd of brides that had formed around her. When we met with Carol again, we were left feeling like there wasn't anything that Pelican wouldn't do to make our wishes come true, and they weren't all about the extra costs that could have tried to tack on. They set up early on the day of - and after reviewing the venue, they returned with a privacy cloth to hang in the bar area so that our guests weren't looking at or listening to the food prep - THANK YOU for that! Additionally, they provide a hostess who ensures that special food requests are met and that the head table is taken care of...nice touch!! The prices are very reasonable and we got a lot of compliments on our food.

John, Kristine and Chef Kumar were great to work with. They helped us determine the 'feel' for the reception along with asked the right questions to organize the day for us. Chris and her team set-up the room to our specifications...We were very pleased. The reception service was fantastic and our guests raved about the food. At the end of it all, we had a beautiful room, good service, our guests were well fed and we didn't have to worry about a thing thanks to Pelican!
