All GeM Cakes are made from scratch, using only the finest ingredients and no artificial flavours. You can opt for a round, tiered, square, or sculpted cake; available flavours include chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, lemon, carrot, Swiss buttercream, French vanilla pastry buttercream, mocha amaretto, and more. Above and beyond!

Gem Custom Cakes made our wedding cake, and we could not have made a better choice!
Gordana really went above and beyond to learn about us and customize our cake: we would never have thought of putting our cake in a kilt to represent my husband's Scottish heritage! She added some red and gold floral motifs as a nod to my Indian heritage, and topped the cake with a fondant replica of our fluffy little pup.
As for the cake itself, it was light, creamy and moist despite being gluten free.

Disappointed

My fiancé and I order samples for tasting and they were not very good, small portions for the price, and what we had asked for was totally ignored. We had sent the vendor the flavours we would like to try and 2 of 5 were met. The cakes were very dry and had little to no flavour. The vendor had reached out to me and asked if we had any questions or feedback and when I had replied kindly letting her know that I was disappointed as we didn’t get what we asked for, she never replied. The vendor runs her shop out of her home as well, it is not a professional bakery by any means. If you choose to order a wedding cake from this vendor please ensure you are getting what you asked/paid for. We are extremely disappointed.

Professional, creative, dependable.

Reached out to vendor to enquire about the possibility of making a custom cake, drum snare base and a stand-up bass on top. Within a couple email exchanges, the vendor sent a sketch, we picked a flavour, the day of the wedding the cake arrived as as agreed upon, on time and absolutely glorious! The vendor worked with our caterer to secure the set-up of the cake and to leave instructions on how to tackle cutting it. We did not have to worry about anything, thank you so much for bringing our vision to life! The cake was stunning and delicious, and the bonus was the vendor's excitement to make the cake!! 🤗
Highly recommended for both quality, price, ease of communication and on point delivery!

Perfect in every way

Gordana was AMAZING
From the cake testing to our final product she was able to execute our vision perfectly.
She understood my needs. Our cake was the perfect size ! It was fresh, real authentic cake.
It was simple but perfect in every way and felt
like home !!!

Delicious Cake

Gordana was super easy to work with and our cake tasted delicious. It was a bit expensive for how small it was, but I suppose that is to be expected for anything associated with the wedding industry lol. In all, definitely recommend!

Amazing wedding cake and beyond expectations!

Gordana provided such a beautiful wedding cake for us on our special day. After doing a cake tasting at her home along with my mom and sister, we were very impressed with the quality and texture of her cakes. We ordered a tall, single tier, yellow vanilla cake with passion fruit curd and buttercream. She was flexible with the delivery time and worked with us to deliver it to the venue which we really appreciated. Thank you so much for a wonderful wedding cake!

GeM knocked it out of the park!

Gordana at GeM Cakes did our wedding cake and a cupcake tower for our wedding. Everything was delicious. She came and set everything up, which gave us one less thing to worry about.
We did a taste test of different flavours first, and she took care of the rest. She also had gluten free options available. She was easy to contact and helped with any questions we had. We highly recommend giving her a call and arranging a meeting for your big day.

Fresh, delicious, beautiful!

Gordana made the most perfect buttercream cake that looked more beautiful than I imagined. I went with coconut base and passionfruit buttercream, along with dozens of cupcakes with the same flavour. I still don’t know how she created such an intricate and stunning tropical fondant design that went perfectly with my theme. She uses the highest quality natural ingredients, and people could not stop gushing about the flavour. It’s possibly my favourite thing about my wedding. Our top tier was too delicious to last, so we will be going back to her for anniversary cakes in future.

Gordana Mihajlovic
Owner & Lead Cake Designer

Gordana Mihajlovic, is a professionally trained cake designer and instructor, with over 25 years
of experience in the industry. What started out as a hobby, has now become a full-time passion.


Gordana shares her decades of experience by crafting unique wedding creations, kids’ birthday
cakes, and other custom celebration cakes. She has dedicated herself to gaining new knowledge
and skills, and to keeping on top of new decorating techniques and methods by learning from
world-renowned cake artists such as Nicholas Lodge and Colette Peters. From the more
traditional to the topsy-turvy designs, Gordana’s novelty and originality fuels her competitive
edge. She loves a challenge and invites everyone to share their ideas in order to create the perfect
masterpiece for her clients’ special day!


Gordana has also been sharing her knowledge and expertise as a Cake Decorating Instructor
since 2002. If interested in learning her craft she teaches through the Mohawk College
Continuing Education programs, but also offers personalized individual and group classes. For
