Facilities and capacity

The Armouries is a suitable location for wedding ceremony and reception. It presents two venues:

The Governor's Room - located on the second floor, it has a capacity of 100 and features gas fireplace , stunning hardwood maple floors, original rosewood wainscoting, trim and ceiling beams.
Jefferson Rom - This venue can accommodate 130 people and is located on the main floor. This historic space is ravishing with its ornate gold, Vienna swaggered draperies and original handmade old oak doors, carpeted floors and also features adjustable lighting.
Kinross and West Terrace - these fine spaces can be utilised for ceremonies, dancing if receptions are held either in The Governor's Room or Jefferson Room. Free on-site parking is available.

Pros. There are various charming spaces available for use of the building. You do get the entire building for the most of the day of your event. Tables are included as well as chairs. They help with tear down and transfer of items from one room to the other between ceremony and reception. Building is located between Kingsway Mall and downtown for convenience.
Cons. Due to the need to have security on site you only have a limited amount of time to set up and tear down for the amount of the venue. We would have been better off with a community hall. We used upstairs for the ceremony and the main floor for the reception. The venue does not have an ice machine or freezer. The kitchen is not very large for the caterer, as well as flowers and alcohol. Very limited amount of parking, and ets decided to do construction on the lrt day of so there was even less room.
