Perfect groups of all sizes!

With a short time frame (2-3 months) and small party, many venues in Toronto had high minimums or wouldn't host only 10 people in a private dining setting. George was affordable, responsive and flexible. It was everything I could have wanted with the restrictions we had. The coordinator asked questions and really tried her best to get a feel for what we envisioned and was very flexible if those needs changed, she was even there the day of to help get everyone to where they needed to be and even helped me adjust my dress (Thank you Andrea!!). The food was amazing and the private patio was stunning. Considering doing our wedding reception here next year simply because the service was that great and the venue has so many options.

Beautiful space, supportive staff, delicious food

We were so pleased to have our wedding at George restaurant. The space and staff helped make planning a COVID-19 wedding such a breeze. There is a beautiful courtyard for an intimate and well ventilated event. Sonia Dhillon in particular helped smooth out the process and was with us every step of the way. We look forward to returning to the restaurant to relive some of the magic during our anniversary dinners at George restaurant.

Professionals through and through

I'm typing this on my phone as I'm getting out of the shower from the hotel room upstairs of the restaurant. We've had the best night. The staff from the servers to event coordinators and managers and chefs were above and beyond what we could have hoped for.

The ambiance was lovely. The chef asked our coordinator to let us know that the alterations we made with our courses might have some redundancies with the horderves (in the midst of all the balls in the air we specified two tunas and recommended a replacement of shrimp). The event managers were the epitome of professionalism. The servers were extremely attentive and even asked if I preferred less ice in my drinks after noticing I was going through them rather quickly. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Thank you for giving us and our guests a wonderful night.

Really the happiest day of our lives.

We are so happy with how our wedding turned at at GEORGE. When we first visited, we already loved the space but the team at GEORGE really made our day special. We worked with both Chris and Andrea, and both were great wedding coordinators who helped so much with the planning and organizing aspect, and were always extremely communicative. Andrea, in particular, was amazing on the day of, helping us set up, making sure we knew where to go, communicating between our vendors, and taking care of our guests.

We had both our ceremony and our dinner reception at GEORGE. The outdoor courtyard space was beautiful (as was the indoor back-up space at the front of GEORGE...both are excellent options) and Andrea kept us informed about exactly how everything would look and and helped us work out all of the logistics at our rehearsal. Everything was perfectly executed, down to the music coordination.

Our cocktail and dinner receptions were also expertly done and all of our guests spoke very highly of all of the food and drinks. The manager and servers took excellent care of us and we really could not ask for a better team for our wedding. We really appreciate how Andrea, Jonathan, and Andrew took care of everything we needed and we are so grateful to have had them on our day.

When we first envisioned our wedding, we wanted an intimate event with all of our closest friends and family, having fun over great food and drink and celebrating with us as we take this next step in our lives. GEORGE was everything we had hoped for and we highly recommend them to everyone.

Our Wedding at George - Perfect

My wife Shelly dined at George one time 2 years before we got married. She raved about the food and the experience. She looked out the window and saw the courtyard, it just caught her eye. When we started to look at venues, George was the first that came to mind. When we sent an email inquiry, Chris got back to us and provided lots of details. When we met her in person, she was very friendly and helpful, giving us a run-down of what a wedding at George would look like, and showed us the beautiful space. We knew it would be a wonderful setting for our wedding. Chris is amazing and helped us tremendously throughout the entire process; from locking in the date, to keeping in touch in the months in-between, to filling out our event orders closer to our big day. I remember enjoying every time I walked through those doors to the restaurant or the Verity club, either to meet with Chris or to have our menu tasting. Chris the sommelier is awesome, he really took care of us during the menu tasting and our wedding night. I want to sincerely say thanks to Chris, Chris, and the rest of the staff.
Now let's talk about the food. One of the first things Chris told us was chef Lorenzo is incredible, and we agree profoundly. Our menu had items like lobster with brulee avocado, Wagyu beef, rack of lamb, halibut with sake miso and cauliflower. They were all so mouthwatering good! We had an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family, and the consensus was they were very happy that night. I bet the food was a huge contributor.
A few months have passed since that night at George, but I still remember it fondly. We recently got our wedding photos and flipping through them let us re-live the day. It rained, so we didn't have the ceremony in the courtyard. But the Grand Georgian room was just as beautiful, plus it kept our loved ones warm and dry. Looking at the photos of the restaurant, the food and drinks, the live performance by our lovely band (the SteelRiver Duo), and the joy; it was perfect.

Thank you for one of the best days of my life

We had about only half a year of planning. It was pretty terrifying making sure everything was going to go smoothly. Chris helped us keep on top of things and was very patient with our constant changes in planning. When the day came and we were so nervous about everything and not really knowing what to do, everyone at George was there to give any support we needed from the time our ceremony started to the time the reception ended. Everyone loved the food, the service, and the ambience. Would love to have another event at George again but in the meantime, we'll enjoy having no more large planning for a while hahaha. Thank you everyone from George and thank you Chris for a wonderful wedding.

Amazing Wedding Experience!

Everyone at George was amazing! They've made our morning and lunch reception a truly magical experience. We got married in the court followed by an outdoor cocktail hour. Afterwards, the party was moved inside where our 4 course lunch menu was delicious. We had a few guests with strict dietary restrictions and they were accommodated without any issues.

Wedding Beyond Our Dreams

My partner and I had our wedding at George Restaurant in the summer of 2019 and I couldn't be happier. Andrea, the wedding coordinator, was detail-oriented, patient and never took more than a day to respond to my many emails. Mieke, the day-of coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure everything flowed nicely. You'd be surprised how many small but thoughtful touches they add in (personalized menus, bridal suite). Both coordinators were built into the price of the buyout, as was the menu tasting a month prior, where a sommelier poured generously and we got to try both the vegan and regular four-course menus.

One of the reasons we picked George was because they could accommodate vegans and during the wedding the vegan dishes made all the surrounding meat eaters quite jealous. But all of the food was really amazing. I couldn't believe that all the proteins were perfect or near perfect. The George Salad that starts everyone's meal is huge and delicious. The desserts were excellent. The vegan dessert is a nice fruit plate so we brought in vegan cupcakes. Everyone said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding.

We had the ceremony in the beautiful courtyard, which seats only about 85 people but is really an amazing place to get married. After the ceremony, the servers moved out all the chairs, passed around wine and put a few bar tables out for a cocktail hour. A guest mentioned that it was like the restaurant transformed the courtyard by magic.

The large front of house staff was as professional as if it were any other night at the restaurant. All our guests said they felt like VIPs.The kitchen put out amazing food with surprisingly short waits between courses.

Considering that the wines and liquors were decent quality, the prices were reasonable enough. The restaurant charges by the drink but, when considering that there enough adults who had little to no alcohol, it was reasonable compared to a banquet hall's drink package.

Another awesome aspect to a wedding at George is that they have a boutique hotel upstairs. Indeed it was more than I would normally spend on a hotel room but it felt great to treat ourselves during the wedding weekend. The day of the wedding, I went from the venue to the room a number of times because it was convenient. At the end of the wedding, I ran my suit jacket and wedding gifts up to the room in 90 seconds before heading out for the night.

If you're planning a wedding here, you'll want to know about the downsides. To be honest there are very few, but at a stretch it's worth mentioning:
-We had 99 people at the wedding (including a three-piece band and two photographers) and the room felt nearly full. They say they can have up to 120 guests, but I really wouldn't do more than 105. For one, the courtyard only has about 85 seats. Even with 105 you'll want to use the booths, each of which holds 4 people and may feel isolating to some.
-The Georgian Room is the most ideal for dancing but there is a huge, square wooden pillar in the middle of the room. We never had more than 40 dancing at a time so it wasn't an issue for us.
-While not dangerous, this isn't the most picturesque block in Toronto. It could be jarring to some guests, especially at night.

Otherwise, I could not recommend this venue more. Thanks again to everyone at George for helping my partner and I realize a wedding beyond our dreams.
