The Hare Wine Co. is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s newest winery experiences, celebrating the region’s historical bounty. Located on route to historic Niagara-on-the-Lake, the rustic structure and ambiance of our space if perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions for groups up to 130 people.
Our stunning winery and lush vineyard backdrop provide a beautiful setting for your special day. Located in the heart of Niagara Wine Country, our unique estate, award-winning wines and knowledgeable staff will blend together to create an unforgettable experience. Whether you are looking to host an intimate gathering in our barrel cellar, or sit-down dinner in courtyard, we will work with you to select the appropriate space for your event. Weddings at our venue are exclusively serviced and catered by The Prince of Wales Hotel and Vintage Hotels.

Facilities and capacity
For ceremonies, choose between a lush vineyard setting on our back lawn or wed in our open-air stone courtyard. For receptions, choose between our intimate barrel room (up to 70 guests), our open-air courtyard (up to 120 guests) or our winery tasting room (up to 130 guests).
Our private bridal suite located on the second floor of the winery is perfect for bridal party touch-ups
Services offered
The Hare Wine Co. combines award-winning wines with friendly staff to create a memorable experience. Our partnership with the Prince of Wales Hotel and Vintage Hotels provides additional services including wedding planning, cusine and day of service. The couples will be offered the following wedding services:
- Lush outdoor ceremony spaces for up to 130 guests
- Receptions in the courtyard up to 120 guests or barrel cellar for up to 70 guests
- Receptions in the winery tasting room for up to 130 guests
- Exclusive venue use upon winery closure of tasting room
- An experienced and professional wedding planner
- Menus and cuisine prepared by Prince of Wales Hotel
- Private pre-wedding wine and menu tasting
- Use of the Prince of Wales’ linens, china, silverware, stemware

Wedding Oct 12
We celebrated our wedding here on Oct 12, 2025.
Everything ran smoothly and was on time. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time, it really was perfect.
We also had several guests remark to us about how kind, thoughtful and efficient the staff was.
The venue is picturesque and feels like a wedding in italy if thats the vibe you are going for.
They also provided a large list of recommended vendors which we selected from and since they already knew the venue and had experience there it really aided in making the whole evening smooth.
Could not recommend it enough. Thanks again to the staff.

Wedding Venue Review
We celebrated our wedding at The Hare Wine Co. on September 28, 2025, and it was truly everything we had hoped for and more. We had the pleasure of working with Leah Saunders from Vintage Hotels, who guided us through the entire planning process. She answered all our many questions and ensured everything ran seamlessly on the day itself.
One of our initial concerns was the limited setup time, as our vendors couldn't begin decorating the venue until 4 p.m. However, thanks to Leah and the amazing vendor team, everything came together so quickly and flawlessly that we had absolutely nothing to worry about. Stepping into the courtyard and seeing how beautiful everything looked felt like watching my Pinterest board come to life!
Every detail of the evening was executed perfectly. The food and drinks were amazing, and the service was outstanding. Throughout the night, countless guests told us how stunning the venue was and how it felt like they were celebrating in a European courtyard. Everyone also raved about the food, noting how generous and delicious the meal was. On Leah’s recommendation, we added a family-style pasta course to help stay within budget, and it ended up being a hit—there was more than enough to go around.
Leah went above and beyond to help us personalize our wedding in a way that worked best for our budget. Her thoughtful suggestions and flexibility were so appreciated, and we’re incredibly grateful for her support.

Wedding Dream Come True!
My husband Mike and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Leah Saunders from Vintage Hotels in helping us bring our dream wedding vision to life. Not only did The Hare Wine Co. serve as the perfect, fairytale venue for our wedding day vision, but the professionalism and organization from all the staff and our vendors was the icing on the cake. From the very start of our wedding planning process, Leah was right alongside us, answering our many questions and helping us feel so at ease. We truly went into our wedding weekend feeling so relaxed, present, and assured that everything would be wonderful - and it was exactly that! The food, wine, environment, service, and attention to detail was incomparable. We could not recommend The Hare and working with Leah at Vintage Hotels enough! We were also very fortunate to work with Vintage Hotels in house floral design company, Clippings, for our table decor, aisle decor, and of course floral arrangements. They absolutely blew us away and far exceeded our expectations by turning an already stunning venue into pure magic. Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts! We are forever so grateful for the role everyone played in making our big day an absolute dream.
Also - a HUGE shoutout to our incredible photographer, Krysta Lee Gorman and her assistant Violetta Ruzhina from @loverlyweddings for capturing our wedding day so, so perfectly. We could not recommend working with them enough - the pictures here speak for themselves... absolute perfection.

Everyone Loved It!
The day was perfect. We heard all night long how amazing and beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food was (especially the cheese cake). And I mean it - we heard about it all night long! The venue is beautiful.
I will be honest, getting there was a little bumpy until Ana was assigned to us (2 month before the day). There was clearly some staff challenges earlier in the year but, that said, they were always professional and helpful. When Ana took over, she was all over it. Questions were answered quickly, everything was organized and in the end, the day went smoothly.
Carrie with the hotel was amazing! Again, quick to answer questions and request and very helpful.
We also ended up using Clipping for our flowers. They are affiliated with Vintage Hotels (I don't think they are on here) and were also great to deal with. Again, another thing our guest kept talking about. Some even took arrangements home with them, willingly.

Misleading and Disappointing
This wedding venue was absolutely stunning—we fell in love with it at first viewing. One of the things we loved most was being able to include our pup in the celebration, which meant a lot to us.
Unfortunately, while the venue was beautiful, the planning and execution were extremely disappointing. Our experience was negatively impacted by both Vintage Hotels, the company we booked through, and the on-site staff on the day of the wedding.
Starting with the day-of staff: we had a winter wedding with the reception held in the barrel room. While we understood the space could be chilly, the team made it worse by consistently using the exterior door to bring in food instead of the interior warehouse entrance. This made the room uncomfortably cold for us and our guests.
In addition, several key details were missed:
The complimentary champagne toast was never offered to me or my husband.
75% of our wedding cake was thrown out without our permission, which was incredibly upsetting.
Now, regarding Vintage Hotels:
Things started off well with Lorraine, who was responsive and helpful during our initial visits. However, after signing the contract and paying a $2,500 deposit, we were handed over to a new coordinator, and that’s when the issues began.
Communication became difficult, and new rules and fees were introduced after we had committed—many of which, had we known about in advance, would have influenced our decision to book. We eventually had to reach back out to Lorraine for support, as we couldn’t get the answers we needed from our assigned coordinator.
This experience caused a great deal of unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful time. I sincerely hope the venue and Vintage Hotels take this feedback seriously, as no couple should have to deal with this kind of disorganization and poor communication on their wedding day.

Highly recommend
We had our wedding in The Hare on 28-Oct-24. We fell in love with this venue on our first visit, and were so happy with everything on the day. The venue is beautiful, private after 5pm, and the staff on the day were absolutely amazing! Lorraine and Carrie were so helpful throughout the whole process. We had a brilliant day. We would highly recommend!

Beautiful wedding location
Thank you so much to everyone at Hare! We had a wonderful wedding day. The entire team was so helpful and accommodating when we had to change to plan B (indoors due to rainy weather). Leading up to the event, sometimes communication via email wasn’t as quick as it could have been; however, with one wedding planner doing multiple weddings a weekend I totally get it. On the day of, everything was perfect and we were allowed use of most spaces to set up and prepare. The meal was great, our guests had a good time, the winery itself has awesome wine and wonderful decor that no matter where inside we took photos, I wasn’t disappointed that it was indoors instead of outside as we planned. Thanks again to everyone who helped make the day special.

Amazing venue
The Hare Wine Co was an amazing venue for our daughter’s wedding. They are so great to work with. They helped with every detail and together with Vintages, created an amazing wedding! From the minute we stepped into the vineyard with a glass of sparking and the beautiful and intimate ceremony by the vines, then the mingling in the courtyard for cocktails after, We could go on and on. The ambiance and setting was absolutely perfect and the hard work and organizing that went into it did not go unnoticed. The food… omg the food!! Everything tasted amazing and the presentation was gorgeous! we loved every minute of it ❤️ Thank you for all of your help in creating such an awesome wedding! We would 100% recommend the Hare Wine co as a wedding venue!

Beautiful and friendly venue
Everyone at The Hare was always so friendly and easy to work with. The location was gorgeous enough on its own that we didn't need elaborate decor. The courtyard, lawn, and barrel room were accommodating for both indoors or outdoor possibilities so we didn't have to worry about the weather, but were lucky enough to have a beautiful day. It was perfectly accessible for all our guests of different ages, mobility, and four-leggedness. The staff always gave us warm welcomes, were extremely supportive, and were genuinely excited to celebrate with us. We're so happy we decided to get married here, and are looking forward to visiting again in the years to come!
