We had the best of the best on our wedding night and cannot be more thankful. From the first meeting to the final minute of our wedding, everything was handled with detail and grace. It was my family's first time working with a wedding planner and everyone was able to relax for the first time ever. It felt surreal to not have to run around in panic. Where to begin!
We were introduced to Lisa and Michelle when one of our best friends highly recommended them. After the initial meeting with Michelle our principal planner, we instantly knew we were going to be in great hands.

There was a lot we wanted to do for our wedding, and Michelle worked closely with us for an entire year helping us with vendor recommendations, going through all the logistics, answering a lot of our questions, giving us the best advice… we could honestly go on forever about all of the ways she went above and beyond for us, but we would really like to highlight how it all made us feel. We felt so stress free during the entire planning process that we were able to fully enjoy our time being engaged for the last year and this meant everything to us. Michelle put so much care into everything she did, she listened intently to understand who we were as individuals, as a couple, and what was important to us before curating a perfect wedding plan for us. She kept us on track with our tasks throughout the year in the most organized way possible. When friends would check in on us throughout the year to see how wedding planning is going, my response is always that it’s going great and we don’t really feel any worries about it as we were so on track thanks to our planner. I’m sure that’s not the usual response people hear from a couple with an upcoming wedding, but it was consistently ours!

During the rehearsal and on the wedding day, Michelle spoke fluently in 3 different languages constantly switching between English to our friends, Cantonese to bride’s family, and Mandarin to groom’s family to accommodate and that was such a nice bonus touch for us!

The actual wedding day was fully packed schedule from 6am until 12am. From the Chinese tea ceremony in the morning, to several first looks with different outfits, the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, multiple ambitious reception games we wanted to pull off among many other things…there were so many components going on throughout the day but everything was executed flawlessly! We were even ahead of schedule at one point and that made it possible for us to enjoy more of the day and be present without feeling rushed. The day-of team Michelle, Eva, Jon, and Krista made us feel so taken care of, we could genuinely feel like they wanted to be there for us and that it wasn’t just another job for them. At one point I just looked up and wondered where my water bottle was, and it was as if someone read my mind, they brought me water before I knew it. More importantly, they also made our family felt taken care of which was the most meaningful thing for us.

The experience with Shing Weddings is indescribable until you witness it yourself. We are so thankful to have Michelle and the team make our special day as memorable as it could be!

'How's wedding planning?' is a question I got asked a lot throughout my journey. My answer was always, 'Stressful? Why would I be stressed?' I had the absolute best wedding planner: Michelle from Shing Weddings. She made me aware of important cultural traditions and made me feel like everything was possible. Not a single request was ever too much, and she was incredibly organized and detailed.

I was actually introduced to the Shing team five years ago when I was just 'Cousin Jenny.' That's when I knew I had to have them plan my wedding. Next, I became 'Sister Jenny,' and then it was finally my turn to be 'Bride Jenny.' I love the Shing team so much. The planning process with Michelle and Lisa was incredibly thorough, and they truly want the best for you without ever being pushy. They respected our budget and constantly made great suggestions to keep us within it.

Our wedding day was completely seamless thanks to the Shing dream team—Michelle, Lisa, Anh, Alex, and Hannah. I didn't even know if anything went wrong—and I still don't, because they handled everything flawlessly behind the scenes. They made sure we were hydrated, stress-free, and perfectly taken care of all day long. One thing to note is that they don't just focus on making the couple happy; they truly go above and beyond to ensure our families and guests are happy and comfortable too. Our guests kept praising them to us and I was like "Yeah I know, THEY'RE THE BEST." My biggest flex lol.

My bridal assistant, Anh, is seriously the best of the best. I never had to ask for water, worry about how I looked, or even hold up my own dress. She was by my side every step of the way. Not every wedding planner comes with a dedicated bridal assistant, and let me tell you—it is WORTH IT. Your entire wedding party will be so well taken care of.

If I could recommend just one vendor to future couples, it would be Shing Weddings. With them by your side, the rest will come easily.

Shing was worth every penny and the BEST decision we made for our wedding. All their team members are genuinely great people who go above and beyond every step of the way.

Our planner, Eva, addressed every question, email, and concern with kindness, patience, and incredible attention to detail. She just radiates positivity and calmness, which put all of our worries completely at ease. The wedding day honestly felt like we were getting royal treatment. They were constantly checking in to make sure we weren’t thirsty, hungry, or tired. The level of attentiveness was absolutely insane! We are so thankful for them that we were able to enjoy our wedding to the fullest knowing we were in such good hands.

They are truly exceptional. I’ll be raving about them to every bride who is about to get married! We can't put into words how thankful we are to have worked with Eva and the rest of Shing for our special day!

We honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Lisa, Eva, Debbie, and Shelton! From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more.

They were incredibly organized, attentive, responsive, and somehow always one step ahead. There were a few things that happened behind the scenes that we didn’t even find out about until the following day — which is exactly what you want from a wedding team! They handled everything quietly and seamlessly so we could simply enjoy our day.

One moment in particular really showed us just how caring and attentive they were. A glass broke near my elderly grandmother, and Lisa immediately grabbed a wet cloth and personally wiped my grandmother’s feet to make sure there were no tiny pieces of glass left. It was such a small moment in the grand scheme of the day, but it meant so much to us. She didn’t hesitate for a second to make sure my grandmother was safe and taken care of, and that perfectly captured the level of care they brought to everything.

They took the time to truly understand what we wanted and brought every little detail to life so beautifully. What stood out most was how genuinely invested they were in making our day special.

Each of them played such an important role:

Lisa was absolutely incredible at keeping everything on track and making sure the day flowed smoothly. She somehow always knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it, often before I even realized I needed it myself.

Eva was always nearby, ready to help with anything I needed, and even kept all of my personal belongings safely in her bag throughout the day. Having her next to me was the best!

Debbie provided the sense of calm and reassurance I needed right before the ceremony. Her presence helped settle my nerves and made that moment feel even more special.

And Shelton was amazing! When I was dancing barefoot on the dance floor, he actually gave me a choice between hotel slippers and flip flops — and then went the extra mile by getting slippers for everyone else who was dancing barefoot on the dance floor. He also made sure I had water whenever I wasn’t dancing. Those thoughtful little touches made such a difference!

They made the entire planning process feel so much easier and allowed us to truly be present and enjoy our wedding day without worrying about the details.

Our wedding was absolutely perfect, and a huge part of that was because of this incredible team. We are beyond grateful for everything Lisa, Eva, Debbie, and Shelton did for us. They were not only amazing at what they do, but also genuinely kind, caring, and invested in making our day unforgettable.

After conducting much research, we decided to contact Shing Weddings about potentially planning our wedding. We had some loose ideas, but as we were the first to be getting married amongst our friends here in Vancouver, we were definitely looking for a full planner. Debbie made sure I always had a glass of alcohol-free bubbles in my hand, a small gesture, perhaps, but one that meant so much to me as someone who doesn’t drink. Eva felt like part of our family. Her genuine excitement for Aidan and Taylor, and for all of us, absolutely shone through.

What makes Lisa exceptional is the way she combines remarkable competence with genuine warmth. She is thoughtful, kind, protective and deeply caring. She listened carefully, understood what mattered to us, and made us feel completely supported from beginning to end.

She is protective of the bride, groom and their families. Questions and problems go to her, and she makes sure unnecessary stress, negativity and drama never reach the people who are there to enjoy the day.

Her reputation within the Vancouver wedding industry speaks volumes. Every vendor and venue we worked with spoke of Lisa with enthusiasm, confidence and enormous respect. She has built strong relationships with the best in the business, and it is easy to understand why. Lisa is so thorough and organized that the people working alongside her can arrive knowing everything has been thought through, focus on what they do best, and deliver their best work.

To me, that is the thread running through everything Lisa does. She absorbs the complexity and takes care of the details in a way that makes the experience better for everyone around her: the bride and groom, their families, the vendors and ultimately the guests.

Lisa gave Aidan and Taylor, our family and our guests an incredible gift: the ability to be fully present for a beautiful wedding and enjoy every moment.

I personally didn't know what to expect. All I knew is that my now wife and I were incredibly busy with our lives and wanted our special day to be more focused on the whole experience, rather than prep. So we decided to look for a wedding planner. We were blown away by the care and service they provided.

We felt like VIP's, and took care of all the little details like keeping us hydrated in between shoots or making sure we had food on our plates by serving us. Wasn't what I expected at all, and they got along with all of our guests. Though chaotic at times, but they were cool and professional.

We knew from the first initial call that Eva was the right fit for us. We were skeptical with whether it would fit in our budget but we decided we wanted to optimize for comfort and experience. If that's you and you're reading this, I would say yes to them right away before they are booked.
