They TRULY care and I felt this the DAY of my wedding they thought of every single detail before I even had a chance to ask they had it taken care of. The day of, the entire team always checked in on us made sure we had food, was hydrated and looked after our family as well including walk my parents to their Uber! They really listen to what you want and she really takes initiative in planning everything out! They suggested the best vendors and I LOVED dream soda they took my engagement and wedding photos and I’m super grateful for them !

I first saw Shing Weddings team in action when our friends got married and l was already blown away by the team's efficiency and had never seen a wedding so organized and calm, ever. Having witnessed that, when it came time for my own wedding, l didn't want anyone else to be our wedding planner. Throughout the planning process, Michelle went above and beyond to help us with all our concerns and issues and if our proposed plan for some things sounded ridiculous (like the music with separate audio system from a third party company, no DJ and play music from spotify etc), Michelle would politely and honestly tell us it's probably not a good idea and suggested way better things, which we really appreciate. Not only that, Michelle recommended some vendors for us that were also just as amazing to communicate with as the SW team to help make our day smoother. Every time l tell our other vendors that ShingWeddings is our wedding planner, we would always hear "oh then you do not need to worry at all, Lisa and Michelle are absolutely amazing and are our favorite vendor to work with".

On the wedding day, there was a team of 4 - Lisa/Michelle/Eva/Jon and as soon as they arrived, they got to work right away. We had a problem with the flower arch and Michelle asked what l wanted to do and she told me not to worry, she will oversee to the problem and told me to rest for another 10min before lunch is ready. We had a bit of time so we went to peek at the decor and was going to set up some fairy lights on the guest table and Jon ran over and told us to let him take care of it and we should rest in the lounge downstairs to wait for lunch before things start to get busy for us. To be honest, l think there were probably other little things that the team dealt with that we didn't even know about.

The team (Lisa/Michelle/Eva/Jon) was constantly 3 steps ahead of us, even the tiniest details, like me taking breaks wearing my runners instead of heels during photos. Eva always had my runners near her and l never had to once ask for it and she was also constantly making sure l was hydrated enough. The team also had an earpiece and intercom system between the 4 of them and whenever the 2 of us and my MOH and bestman left their sight even for just a minute, they communicate to each other right away where they are going so they knew exactly where we were in case we were needed somewhere. Just as l'm wondering what's next, Eva or Michelle would tell us right now "A" is happening, in a bit "B" will be next. I had a big extended family so all the group photo sessions would have been a nightmare if we didn't have one of them hurdle the group together, another posing everybody properly then giving our photographer the ok, photographer snaps the pictures, gives us the thumbs up and by then, the team already had the next group ready to go.

There were some extra groups for photos after the ceremony or extra groups we added for the chinese tea ceremony and even with all these changes, the team embraced the changes so calmly and we still stayed right on time and l am still shocked 3 days after the wedding that we weren't delayed and ALL our relatives and guests commented that Shing Weddings' team was very professional. The wedding planning process definitely is part of the value with ShingWeddings but to be able to execute the actual day according to the timeline takes a mastermind, if not mastermindS.

We were so taken care of the second the team arrived and all our parents, relatives and guests were also blown away by your team's efficiency, we cannot thank you enough. I was shocked that we got to sit and rest in between here and there. The day went very smoothly, we will always remember this day as relaxing and enjoyable, not chaotic as we expected our big day to be. You guys have such a tough job and the whole team did such a fabulous job and with such ease, l will absolutely recommend your team to any of my friends that is planning a wedding. Your team was worth every single penny and l am so glad ShingWeddings was part of our day!

Lisa and her team is AMAZING! I can't thank her enough for planning and coordinating my dream wedding. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Lisa was so responsive and organized from the day I contacted her to the wedding day.
She knows the best vendors and gives the best advice. She saved me so much time from those back and forth long emails to vendors. I was seriously blown away when I walked in to our ceremony & reception. It was everything I dreamt of and MORE! I felt zero stress the day of my wedding. The whole team was very detail orientated even my guest noticed. For example, when I needed to be blindfolded for games, Eva put sunglasses on me first then the blindfold so it won't ruin my make up. She always made sure everyone including our families were taken care of. They helped me with my dress, shoes, hair all day and made sure we were picture perfect. Thank you again Lisa, Eva, Michelle, Alex, Jon for everything! Please don't cheap out on a wedding planner, it was the best investment ever! It may seem pricey at first but trust me, the amount of work they put in, they are underpaid. They are not your average wedding planner/coordinator. They have a WHOLE TEAM!!!

My husband and I got engaged in December 2021 and were married in July 2023. Shing Weddings, ran by Lisa and Michelle, we had hired after pouring over other planners and interviewing dozens. They have been with us for a little under two whole years and every week they were more organized and on top of everything than none of us could've ever imagined.

My husband is Chinese and I am western. Two very separate cultures - Michelle and Lisa both speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English; making not just the planning of the two cultures work in sync (especially with the many challenges and differences we had to overcome), but also easing the communication.

Leading up to our wedding, Michelle sent out emails long before needed, and both Michelle and Lisa got us organized ourselves with easy homework and assignments to keep us up to date on what we needed to do. She reminded everyone as needed and many of my other vendors as well as our venue (Fraser River Lodge) spoke highly of our planners and their communication.

My family had many arguments in meetings, that would make most people uncomfortable to idly witness; Michelle and Lisa took everything in grace and was able to turn any negative or animosity experiences into something positive and productive.

Day of, Michelle and Lisa had two other coordinators on site - Alex for the groom, Eva for me (the bride). Eva was everything I needed and more. Come to find out, Eva is highly sought after for her work and has traveled the world doing day of coordination - and I'm not surprised in the least. I had no direct experience with Alex but if he's anything like Eva, he would've been fantastic too.

Michelle and Lisa are professional, therapeutic, organized, kind, considerate, on top of everything... utterly fantastic. My family paid around $15,000 for two years worth of time as well as extra assistants to the day. They are worth well beyond that. (I was actually under the impression for a long time that we paid them $20,000, and even I thought that was inexpensive.) For everything that they do, are, and provide, they are worth tens of thousands more.

I recommend Shing Weddings because they are legitimately the best planners in Vancouver, BC (and I say this as someone who regularly plans events as well). One of the most important decisions you will ever make when planning your wedding is hiring your planner and day of coordinators, and you absolutely need Shing Weddings to be apart of your day.

Hanna, was right beside the bride for every photo that was taken to fix her hair and fix my pocket square (They put in so much work and effort to this chaotic day).

We started the wedding planning process unsure of whether we needed a wedding planner. ​​Ultimately, I'm extremely grateful that we not only ended up hiring one, but also because we ended up with Shing Weddings.

With their extensive experience, Lisa and her team (Nancy, Alex, Jon, Amari, Sarah, Emily, Hannah) helped us organize our Dream Wedding for over 100 guests in two separate venues--the afternoon ceremony at Hycroft Manor, and the evening cocktail & dinner reception at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Shing Weddings is not the cheapest among planners, but as the adage goes, you get what you pay for.

During the planning process, Lisa was professional, reassuring and responsive. She is culturally aware, as well as emotionally sensitive, particularly when it comes to our complicated family dynamics.

Approaching the actual wedding day in December, we were faced with heavy snow which caused travel chaos both in and out of Vancouver (75% of our guests were from out of town), as well as within Vancouver between the two venues. Thankfully, Lisa and her Team calmly and seamlessly navigated the challenges --they made it look so easy (which I'm sure was not!)!

Ultimately, the result was a beautiful snowy winter wedding that was flawlessly executed and where our guests have said it was the most fun & beautiful wedding they had ever attended!
