    BEST Wedding Coordinator!

    My husband and I chose to work with Nicola at Petite Pearl Events for our wedding day (Takeover Coordination option) and were blown away by the whole experience. We kept saying throughout our planning process that this was literally the best decision we'd made for our wedding! From the beginning, Nicola was quick to respond, professional, fun and friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. We were planning our wedding from afar (we live in the Caribbean and were getting married in Vancouver), but were able to meet with Nicola over Zoom for all of our meetings. We loved that before we signed the contract with Petite Pearl we were able to meet with Nicola, chat about our hopes for the wedding and ask questions to ensure it was a good fit. We knew it was right away and felt at ease about the next steps for our planning despite doing so from so far away AND during the uncertainty of the pandemic. Nicola was super helpful with vendor suggestions, little details to consider, and things to start looking into. With the takeover coordination service, you get a 6-month-out meeting, which was also super helpful. Nicola checked in to see that we'd gotten the important things arranged and helped steer us in the right direction for next steps. I should also add that despite us not having chosen the full wedding planning option, Nicola was there to answer any little questions that popped up along the way, which was amazing. About 6 weeks out we had a long meeting, and then Nicola 'took over' and became the point of contact for the vendors...this was awesome! She was able to remind us when final payments were due, ensure rentals were going to be picked up and dropped off at the right times, etc. She prepared a detailed itinerary for the day of the wedding, along with the events leading up to it, and made changes as and when they came up. It really relieved a lot of stress for us. The week before the wedding, we got to have another meeting (face-to-face, once we were finally in the same country!) and again, she was so helpful making sure everything was exactly right. For our rehearsal, Nicola was there and made sure everyone was comfortable and knew what to expect on the actual wedding day. On our actual day, Nicola was the first one to the venue with her assistant, and they made sure everything looked beautiful and was exactly right. It was so wonderful not having to worry about a single thing on our wedding day - all of our family and friends could just enjoy the day without having to worry about dropping off centrepieces or preparing decorations and arranging the flowers. The whole day flowed so smoothly, and it was because Nicola was on top of everything, making sure it was all going according to plan. At the end of the night, she ensured everything was cleared up and all rentals were returned, cards and gifts went home safely, and that the venue was in good shape. Nicola went above and beyond our expectations and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had the best day and are so grateful for Nicola!

    Seamless planning and jaw dropping design services

    We engaged Petite Pearl Events with Marcie as our lead planner and designer for Month-of Coordination and Event Design Services for our wedding in October 2021. How can I even begin to describe how amazing Marcie and the Petite Pearl team were?

    For our event design services, Marcie took some scattered ideas we had on Pinterest and turned our venue of Dusty’s Whistler into the most romantic, cozy, mountain lodge that had a sophisticated yet boho-chic feel to it all. I don’t know how she managed this, but the decor all the way from the plates to the furniture to the arrangements - everything was beautiful and perfect. She also worked closely with our florist to communicate the vision and colours we wanted which resulted in beautiful creations.

    For our month-of coordination services, Marcie really went above and beyond here. The 60 days before our wedding, covid restrictions were constantly changing, even including up to the day of the wedding, which required us to have many plans and contingencies in place. Marcie was extremely organized and excellent with communication. She worked directly with all of our vendors to navigate almost daily changes, and helped us be ready for just about anything the day threw at us. She also helped make sure we thought about absolutely everything and plan for everything, so that we felt prepared leading up to and could relax on the day of. Marcie made our whole wedding experience a dream. Now we want to have another just to work with her again! Seriously the best investment we made with our wedding was for the services we received from Marcie and Petite Pearl. For what they delivered, their fee should have be double or triple what they actually charge. The value for the quality of service and creativity is not matched by anyone in the sea to sky region.

    Lastly, the Petite Pearl team was wonderful to work with. They don’t bring just anyone along to assist with events on the day of, they bring their other designers and planners. This really helped us feel like everything was absolutely perfect and there was nothing for us to worry about with such an experienced team on site for us during the day.

    The best wedding purchase we made

    Working with Margot and Petite Pearl Events (PPE) was the best decision we ever made for organizing our wedding reception.

    Trying to get married during a pandemic was stressful and challenging. We initially wanted to have a small wedding just with immediate family, but we figured if we were going to have a reception later anyway, we might as well wait a bit longer. We reached out to PPE after talking to a friend who had also hired PPE for his wedding. Our friends interviewed other event planners, and they told us PPE was their top choice, so we went with PPE as well.

    From day one, Margot was very personable and attentive to our needs and wants. We were not able to pinpoint exactly what we wanted at times, but Margot understood the vibe and feelings we wanted at our wedding. There were times when Margot worked her magic and helped us discover new things that we didn't know we wanted as well. Margot was very detailed in her planning and she answered all our questions whenever we asked her. She had a list of things like venues, catering, flowers, etc. that she asked for our input at an appropriate timeline. We had many emails, in person and online meetings, phone calls, and texts that took countless hours; we felt spoiled! Overall, the whole process was smooth and straightforward. All the decision making was up to us, but the rest of the planning like the execution and following up with vendors and such was Margot's job. Again, planning a wedding during COVID was mentally draining because of all uncertainties and continuously changing restrictions. Both of us were working right up to the wedding, and this was only possible because Margot helped us continue our lifestyle smoothly as much as we could. Don't get me wrong, we did have stress because of constraint changing restrictions and whatnot, but if we hadn't worked with Margot, the whole planning process would've been a painful one.

    We worked with Margot for not only planning but the venue hunt and décor as well. In a fiercely competitive environment Margot managed to help us find an exceptional indoor/outdoor venue that was basically pandemic restriction proof. On the décor side, we told her what colour/theme we wanted, and she did an amazing job because she really nailed the vibe that we wanted - spring, airy, and flowy. We wanted a bit of a surprise so we hadn't seen the venue/reception until the day of the reception. At the end, we were exceptionally happy with what Margot had done for us. Little details could be seen by everyone, and we wished we could remember everything from the wedding because it was that beautiful. We couldn't thank Margot enough for all she (and her team) had done for us.

    Just one day before our wedding the indoor mask requirements came off. Margot worked quickly with our venue and was able to get confirmation we could have everything indoors. This left Margot and the PPE team with only 19 hours to switch our wedding layout completely indoors. The hustle and flexibility were worth all the dollars. Just imagine if you had to turn an outdoor wedding into an indoor one in less than a day - we wouldn't be able to do it for sure.

    Everything in Margot’s control on our wedding day was perfect. There was one vendor mistake, no fault of PPE at all, but Margot sprung into action to address it the best she could and went to bat for us after the wedding to help us recuperate some of our expenses with that vendor. She really supported us ahead, during, and after the wedding.

    All our guests complimented our wedding for its beauty and more. We are extremely pleased to have worked with PPE. Hands down, best money spent.

    Best decision!

    Our location required a Day of Coordinator. After doing some research, PPE seemed to be the best fit for us. We were paired up with Nicola and decided to do the month of coordination as we were planning a wedding 3 provinces away. We found out after that family worked with Nicola last year and they said "[She/PPE] was the best money we spent, but no pressure".
    I could not agree more with their statement as Nicola is AMAZING! She is truly a gem and wonderful at what she does. She had all the little details covered and took away the normal stresses of planning a wedding completely. Add on the endless changes of planning a wedding during Covid - which honestly, Nicola's support/positivity was much appreciated when I was questioning if a wedding was even possible.
    I could go on and on about Nicola and why she is an asset and an absolute must. If you're on the fence about a day of/mouth out coordinator, do it. And ask for Nicola. I promise you will not be disappointed :)

    Hard working & attentive planner who absolutely crushed planning our wedding.

    Jessica and the entire Petite Pearl Events' team went so far beyond expectations for our wedding that we're going to commission a Netflix miniseries about how incredible the whole experience was, and have David Attenborough narrate the whole thing!! Seriously though, our friends and family are still raving about the beautiful decore, the seemless flow of the whole day, and how carefree and comfortable we both were with such a huge event! We owe it all to Jess and the entire PPE team.

    We opted for the Month & Day-of planning with Event Design for our 170 person wedding at the Stanley Park Pavilion, and for us it was a life saver! From our our very first meeting with Jess we knew we were in good hands. She was well prepared, organized, very attentive, and never afraid of having a laugh (especially when speaking frankly about the many difficulties of planning a wedding!). After the initial meeting she was always quick to answer our questions, and did a great job managing expecations when it might take a bit longer to reply. Most importantly, Jess wasn't afraid of giving her honest input, being open to new suggestions, and ultimately running full steam ahead with our final decisions. This really made us feel like we were still in the driver's seat, just with a fantastic navigator.

    PPE kept checking in with us before the one-month mark to make sure we had made our key decisions, just to make sure there were no last minute surprises-or at least very few. In organizing our vendors, PPE's industry contacts ran deep, and Jess's logistical prowess was always self-evident. We would have been a wreck if we didn't have their help! Our advice: If you have more than 3 vendors for your wedding, do yourself a favor and hire these pros, you will thank us later! As far as we know there were zero problems on our wedding day, and if there was the PPE team solved it without any of our guests hearing a peep.

    When designing the decor, Jess absolutely nailed the look and feel we wanted. And from what we've seen of their other events, it was no cookie-cutter affair; everything was done to complement our style. It was clear to us that fostering conversation and easy guest-flow was a top priority for PPE, and it was beautifully executed. There was always a spot for guests to gather, have a seat, and easily converse. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to (even the married couples!).

    Our wedding was the most incredible day of both of our lives, hands down. We had so much fun, and are so thrilled with how it turned out, and we both feel it is due in large part to Jessica and the incredible team at Petite Pearl Events. Thank you thank you thank you!

    Best decision we made

    If anyone is questionning whether or not to get a day of/month out coordinator, I cannot recommend it enough! Gord from Petite Pearl made everything leading up to our wedding an absolute breeze. It felt so great to hand everything over to him and allow ourselves to enjoy the day. He was calm, cool, and completely organized - everything you would want in a coordinator. I highly recommend hiring Petite Pearl!

    Blown away....

    I am blown away by the whole Petite Pearl Events team. With Jessica as our lead for both month out/day of planning & event design and decor - I knew we were in good hands - but I was TRULY inspired by the whole team. The professionalism and dedication to their jobs is incredible. When we walked in to the space on our wedding day - I think my brain's "joy centre" overflowed with happiness... it was true magic. Leading up to the day - working together was not only easy - but a pleasure...

    Dream wedding thanks to PPE!

    Jessica (our lead planner) was easy to trust from the initial meeting with her expertise in the industry and complete professionalism. She really listened to what was important to us and made it happen. On the day-of, Jess and Gordon set up our venue and it was STUNNING. Petite Pearl style takes your ideas up a notch and executed the look and feel better than what we envisioned. The timeline they created and flow of the events unfolded so seamlessly that if there was any troubleshooting we still have no idea what the issues were (if any!)

    Jessica never made us feel rushed and was focused on taking care of us - something that is overlooked but so necessary to enjoy your wedding day! She’s solution focused and has the ability to make you feel calm amongst the chaos. I remember seeing her right before I walked down the aisle and felt genuinely supported by her. Gordon was the sweetest and went the extra mile to deliver, he even gave all the parents a break by taking the kids and handling the s’mores station. Definitely a highlight for our little people.

    Thanks to Petite Pearl Events, we actually had an element of surprise being completely hands off the set up. I was the happiest bride walking around and seeing everything come together. We were able to have the total guest experience at our own wedding - we enjoyed the cocktail hour, ate all the delicious food, danced our butts off and were completely present with each other on the biggest celebration of our lives. If you want to have an intimate and memorable wedding experience for you and your guests your in amazing hands with PPE!

    Money Well Spent!

    Hiring Petite Pearl for day-of-coordination was honestly the best money I spent for my entire wedding! They actually call this service month-of-coordination and I can see why! Nicola was my coordinator and she was integral to choosing other vendors that both fit my budget and the vibe I was after for my wedding, creating day of timelines, and hustling on the day of the wedding to set everything up and the entire day run so smoothly. I can honestly say that nothing went wrong on my wedding day and I can thank Petite Pearl for that! Also, I must say that they are just wonderful people to work with!

    Best Investment!

    I can't say enough about Jessica and Brit - hiring Petite Pearl and having these two work on our wedding (Design & Decor and Month-Of-Coordination) was the BEST investment we made, and their work completed exceeded our expectations. They were so wonderful to work with, from our initial meeting and right up until the end, this was a group that was warm, professional, extremely knowledgeable, super creative and respectful of our budget too. Jessica was so very calm throughout our day - despite the fact that we couldn't go ahead with our Plan A due to weather - she and her team maintained their cool and focus and delivered such a great indoor Plan B, that no one (me and my husband included!) could have ever thought it was a Plan B because it was still so spectacular!
    I was told in the days leading up to my wedding by my girlfriends that had gone through their own wedding days - "don't fuss when things don't go as planned, try to just enjoy the moment" - but, honestly, EVERYTHING seemed to go perfectly and seamlessly and this is a huge credit to Jessica and Brit.
    Thank you so much Petite Pearl Events, and specifically Jessica and Brit for helping us bring our vision to life and helping us create a day we and our close friends and family will never forget!

Meet the Team

Owner + Creative Director

I’m Jessica but most people call me by my maiden name ‘Minnie’, so you can too. I’m a momma to the raddest little dude gordie, a wife, a pisces + the founder/creative director of PPE. I’m the opposite of shy but I most definitely prefer to be behind the scenes doing what I love most + working hard to make moments extremely special, stress-free + picture perfect for others. I started PPE in 2010 from my kitchen table + the trunk of a zipcar while working another full time job. By the age of 26, I was completely self employed. Fast forward to 2019 + I have an incredible team of 3 other full time planners/designers, 1 part time designer + the best wedding day assistants. The last 10 years have required extreme dedication + many sleepless nights, but each year is more rewarding than the last + I continuously get to meet some of the most inspiring individuals/couples who are still in my life to this day. I hope that you can be one of those couples as well.

A few facts for the fun of it:

  • I’m a creature of habit yet prefer to travel only to new destinations
  • I’m a foodie but I’d choose a good dive bar over a fancy restaurant any day of the week
  • I stopped drinking coffee 2.5 years ago (I still have a cup of decaf every morning though - love a cozy coffee)
  • I’ve been practicing yoga for 10 years - it’s my saving grace mentally + physically
  • I am extremely planned + organized but I cannot start packing for a trip until about 1 hour before I have to leave (ok this has stretched to 2 hours now that i have to pack for a kid as well)
  • I haven’t strayed from choc chip cookie dough or mint choc chip ice cream flavours for as long as I can remember
  • In another life, i’d be a forensic pathologist
  • I’ve heard the song “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey more than all of you combined, i guarantee it

Hi, I’m Margot and I like long walks on the beach… no but seriously, even though I now live in London (UK, not Ont) I’m a Vancouver girl at heart. I can stare at the ocean for hours. it centres me and fires me up for adventure all at the same time! And when it comes to adventure, well, that’s sort of my jam. My favourite quote + guiding principle is “feel the fear and do it anyway”. following that mantra has led me into the most amazing experiences of my life… like sailing around the world on an old timey tall ship, quitting my 9-5 to follow my passion for wedding planning (more on that coming up) and most recently moving halfway around the world + setting up shop in a new city/country. Speaking of that work life (and let’s be real, personal too, because there isn’t really a difference for me), 2019 marks my 6th year with PPE where i’m a principal planner + event designer. It’s the best of both worlds; all of the nerdy OCD satisfaction of spreadsheets + colour-coded timelines together with the creative challenge of pulling together eclectic + highly personalized events for my amazing clients. Now that I’m settled in London, UK, I absolutely cannot wait to work with a whole new set of couples!

Hi! I'm Nicola. I'm an associate planner + designer with the PPE team. I joined the team in 2016 and now work full time with this amazing team. My favourite thing about what I do is hard to put into a few words, but I love that I get to help people create some of their most special memories. The magic of the fact that I am a small part in so many people's most precious memories is not lost on me. i love it!
