Professional and extremely flexible
My wedding was October 16, 2020 and due to the pandemic and continual changes to local restrictions we had to change course several time, including a drop to 10 people one week before. Shana and her team made all of this so stress free. In addition she sourced great vendors at great prices and my wedding was beautiful. The day of, she and team were on top of everything. Shana is a Wedding Day Necessity
Shana and her team are incredible. Hiring her for my wedding was my second time working with her as she also did my mom's wedding last year. She is such a professional and she was always three steps ahead of us in every aspect of the wedding. She put together an amazing day of timeline, kept all the vendors organized, ran the processional, set up the decor and so much more. When we were reflecting after the event we truly didn't know how we could have done it without her. She knows so much about the Ontario wedding industry and was able to reccomend vendors who ended up being incredible. I trusted her reccomendations on every detail of the event. We got so many compliments on how organized the day was and how everything was happened exactly according to the programs we had printed. That was all because of Shana! Amazing experience; highly recommend!
We are so, so glad we hired Shana as our wedding planner. Shana was always responsive and professional, and it was incredible to see how she took my Pinterest board and turned it into the wedding we wanted (even when we didn't really know what we wanted!). I loved that on the day of I didn't need to worry about anything, and I trusted there was someone who understood in detail what was going to happen & who needed to be where when. Guests said it was the best planned & executed wedding they ever been to!
I got burned and started to not trust day of coordinators after firing two planners. I posted on a Wedding Facebook Group about my situation, looking for a day of coordinator who is detailed oriented, responsive and hard working! And Shana found me! Shana and her team far exceeded my expectations!
You need to hire Shana NOW before she gets booked for your wedding day! Hiring Dream Weaver Events will be one of the BEST decisions you make for your wedding day, for you and your fiance, your wedding party and both families. TRUST ME!! I call Shana my ultimate “DREAM PLANNER” (and funny that the company is called Dream Weaver…hahaha!). She will ensure that your wedding is perfect.
My husband and I are so happy and blessed to have met Shana and have her be there for us on one of our biggest days of our lives. Shana didn’t treat us only as her clients, but as friends. She really cared about us and it was genuine. My sister said that it was obvious that Shana was emotionally invested in us, as she cried at our ceremony and first dance =)
Pre wedding planning: Shana took the day of itinerary that our previous wedding planner had drafted, and made it a thousand times better. Everyone complimented me saying that it was the most perfectly timed and executed wedding they have been to in their lives. That’s a HUGE compliment!! Guests were never waiting too long. They felt that the events throughout the day were organically timed without any rushing or delays. Makeup and hair touch-ups were scheduled, there was a tea ceremony, and I even had time to wander the cocktail, and having time to visit the guests at their tables at least twice. Thankfully Shana ripped apart the day of itinerary previously written by Rainbow Chan Wedding & Events (whom we fired) to customize the schedule to what best suited us.
Month of Wedding: Shana was ON POINT with following up on the vendors. She followed up with all of the vendors and honestly, just that alone is worth hiring her to relieve the stress before the wedding. Everyone kept on asking me during the month of if I was stressed, and I said no! Everyone was surprised (since I’m a BIG stress and worry wort), but Shana made me feel that she had everything under control and that I didn’t need to stress.
DIY Wedding: I had a DIY wedding which required a lot of attention to detail, setting up and taking down décor, on top of ensuring that the day went smoothly. Shana and her team handled everything perfectly. She took my detailed setup instructions and unloaded the décor from a truck, and set them up as per the diagrams and instructions. Her team even moved décor from the ceremony to the reception. Even giant trees, tall centerpieces, turning on every LED candle, fluffy up the floral arrangements, every detail was accounted for perfectly. At the end of the night they took everything down and back into the truck for a stress free night.
Many coordinators do not include FULL décor setup or take down, when shopping ensure to ask if they will do this for you.
LISTENS: The two previous coordinators we fired didn’t listen (could be an ego thing). Shana listens to everything that you have to say. Instead of telling you no, she would try to understand why you wanted something a certain way that she might not initially agree to, and if she realized it’s what you really wanted, she’ll listen to you. But she would tell you what she thought and gave you different angles. This really is a skill that your day of coordinator needs to have. Not just take orders, and not ignore what you have to say, but have an excellent balance.
More than a Coordinator and Planner: Her team picked up food orders for us for lunch, picked up Tim Hortons, delivered family luggage to hotels, returned the truck of DIY items back to a home…the list goes on. Whatever makes the day run more smoothly, Shana and her team are ready to take on the challenge.
They handled my Mother: My Mother has to be, honestly, one of the most “interesting” Mothers out there who is very demanding, expects the royalty treatment, and believes my wedding is where she is the most important. There are very few people in the world who can handle my Mother, or whom my Mother likes. My Mother ADORED Shana and her team, and that is saying a LOT. Shana and her team gave my Mother the special attention she needed.
Shana’s experience: On top of being experienced with many weddings under her belt, she has a lot of experience in event planning. She also was the day of coordinator for a popular wedding coordinator in the industry. Another vendor of mine heard about Shana coordinating that wedding, and said that she heard it was run extremely well.
Dress Rehearsal: Unfortunately, our venue coordinator was backfilled by a horrible lady who didn’t give us attention, was rude, and made the families and wedding party confused and uncomfortable. Shana was professional and took over the rehearsal, and relieved the tension. She was organized, thoughtful, and provided recommendations based on her experience. This helped alleviate the wedding party’s anxiety on not knowing what to do. Thank you Shana!
Extra meetings and contact included: She visited the venue to ensure she understood the flow of the day. She also attends your meeting with the venue to ensure she has all of the details. She also attended the dress rehearsal included in her fee. She was always responsive to emails, and closer to the wedding we were in a Whatsapp chat group for a more immediate response.
Handling issues: My Mother threw tantrums on the wedding day. Shana handled the situation very calmly and the issue fizzled immediately. Shana handled an urgent issue with the venue professionally and was very firm. Shana has a way with people, she’s very likeable but at the same time she can be firm in a not so offensive way.
Hours of work: Shana and her team were available the ENTIRE DAY. They arrived early in the morning while I was getting my hair and makeup done, and stayed to take down my décor after 2am. Be careful of the fine print, or ask your potential planners. Some have a limit of 8 hours, or refuse to specify the number of hours.
Pricing: Her rate honestly is a good deal. There are a lot of new wedding coordinators trying to undercut other coordinators to get started. But for her experience, attention to detail, and care is well worth her pricing. She’s not even at the higher range where other coordinators nickel and dime you. I received quotes from many other wedding planners, interviewed some, and you have to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Read the fine print and ask questions before hiring your planner.Sent on 17/02/2020
